The then govenrment proposed amaravati-which is in centre of the state as capital. The motto of TDP was one capital-Develop each and every region and district. and CBN sir actually started doing that but he didn’t had enough time. He wanted to develop vizag as IT and economical hub like Mumbai.Tirupathi and Rayalaseema regions like industrial and automobile hub .

As that farmer said, the land in the Amravati area is extremely fertile and they were getting good incomes by raising three crops a year. That area of Andhra is even more fertile than Punjab, and is the rice bowl of India. It was a very silly decision by Naidu, to make that agro rich area a capital city. Fertile agricultural land that is high yielding must never be urbanized as it will spell disaster for the country's food security. They should have made Kurnool the capital of Andhra, as it is located in a backward area that really requires development. Overall improvement can only be achieved by bringing development to underdeveloped areas.
