Andor was a slow burn but it was amazing. I loved Rogue One so this is a great sequel to that. Honestly I think it might be my favourite star wars story, above even the originals and Rogue One. I absolutely loved it.

It still shocks me that Andor was made under Disney, it’s such a fantastic show! In my opinion, for both StarWars and Marvel, disney has never made anything at this level, the writing is just so amazing, the monologues in this show are top tier, the soundtrack, VFX, Cinematography, Acting, are all amazing as well. This show is just such a fantastic breath of fresh air for me, not only have we never got this level of writing in StarWars, (Imo) but also it doesn’t have 10 cameos just for nostalgia. I love Andor 🙌🏻

I remember switching this show on thinking it’s going to be another one of those fan service watch 8 episodes of nothing for that 10 minute epic scene at the end shows, but that wasn’t the case. The end of episode 3 had me hooked. Such a journey into the unknown, both, for andor himself and the viewer. You’re right there with him figuring him out while he’s figuring himself out and his place in this universe. The writing, the music, the direction, the camerawork….THE CASTING!! It’s a perfect show. And you know why I love this show, because you take away the Star Wars universe, the laser guns and the space ships and you put this show in any setting across time, and it works. It works because it’s not about the world it’s set in, but about its people and what they are capable of.

Spot on! That's why I love Andor and don't understand those that say it's not Star Wars. The empire vs the oppressed is at the very core of Star Wars!

I was one of those who watched Star Wars when it was originally released and you pretty much summed up why I thought it was great. The context of that era is that none of this had ever happened before. Nowadays there's like a billion Marvel/DC movies a year but back then I honestly can't name a single SF/fantasy movie (I just did a quick google search and the only movies I recognize that came before SW were movies made before I was even born lol). TBH I never heard the phrase "Skywalker Saga" until a few years ago. It doesn't mean anything to me. I personally look forward to SW shows/movies set in another time period, specifically the Old Republic.

The thing I enjoyed about Andor was it showed the Resistance wasn't pure. Its leadership was willing to kill Andor to close a loose end it needed for a mission but didn't trust since he did the job for the it for the money. It was willing to let 30 rebels die in an space battle to prevent the Empire from knowing it had a mole in its ranks. And it blackmailed the mole once he wanted to quit because he became a father and living life on the edge was too big of a risk...but the rebels force him to continue to give them intel, I also enjoyed how the prison situation (life sentences and mock trials) and seeing the damage the Empire did to his childhood friend who tired to protect him made him change from a thief into a true believer of resistance that tried to kill him. Great series.

I agree with a lot of your reasoning and points about why Andor is great. I don't agree with you on TFA and TLJ however. Many others have far more detailed and well explained breakdowns than I can do in a yt comment (Mauler for instance) All I'll say is that from what I've seen, most people who enjoy those movies like what they tried to do more than how the movies actually turned out. Regardless, I like your editing and narration style and I hope you keep going. Always happy to see new creators! We will watch your career with great interest 😉

Damn good video! That was my take away from TLJ and what I found most interested in. If Rey joined Kylo, that would have been awesome to see the stories to come out of that. Andor is telling us the story of the people that Luke and Biggs heard about and wanted to join them to fight against the Empire who may have even been putting the boot on the necks of moisture farmers to produce more and maybe that's even why Uncle Owen wants him to stay.

I am surprised how no one is complaining how "woke" this show is, and here they are, having a lot of strong female characters (Kleya is emotionally stronger than Luthen, Mon Mothma is more powerful and wealthier than her husband, Maarva loved Clem yet she wasn't obedient housewife and he was afraid of her), ton of people of color, openly gay characters (that survived the end of season one and whos sexual orientation wasn't big deal) plus very left leaning politics represented through several perspectives. I love this show, I rewatched it three times already, every character is my favorite one, I love them all, and it reignited fire for star wars in general
@shashankvarma13
@shashankvarma13 8 месяцев назад
Because the “wokeness” of it isn’t pasted across media and isn’t the selling point. If they story is good and we’ll executed, the audience doesn’t really care about what gender or sexual orientation the characters identify with. That’s why all those 80’s and 90’s female led movies still work and all these new ones don’t

The trip to canto? Irrelevant for the story. If you take it out...nothing changes. The fight in the throneroom is one of the worst choreographed fights ever in cinema history. I could list stupid Things in that movie for hours. The movie is a pure Desaster from a filmmaking perspektiv. That it shits on the OG films is just the cherry on the cake. Worst Star Wars series I've seen. Cassian J. Andor, the "hero" only reacts to events. He has absolutely nothing of a leader. He has no charisma. The script is empty and inconsistent. The rebels rob a dam, located on Aldhani, an isolated planet, where a fortune is stored: the payroll for the whole system, guarded by a handful of guards. Stupidity. By the way, why in such a distant future does physical money still exist? Luthen, the one who planned the theft, is financed by a wealthy woman, Mon Mothma, who gave him 400,000 Credits. The heist nets ~$80 million in Credits, or roughly $46.8 billion. Mom told Luthen that the Empire was already cracking down on the free movement of money before the robbery at Aldhani and it will soon discover the 400,000 credits missing from her financial accounts. That will inevitably lead to an investigation of the Senator, which will put the entire Rebellion at risk. Luthen who now has millions of Credits does not offer Mom to repay him the 400,000 Credits in order to ensure not to put the Rebellion in danger. This is utter nonsense. A ridiculous scenario. Andor decides to go live on another planet. Arrived on the spot he is arrested after 5 minutes, for no reason ... except the one in the script. He is sent to prison by the evil Empire. The scenario shows that the Empire is very, very evil and corrupt. In prison they assemble weapons... While a robot assembly line (there are plenty of robots in the future) would do the same thing 3 times faster and 24 hours a day. When he escapes, our "hero" decides to return to the planet Niamos. A really rotten scenario. By setting foot on this planet Andor could be arrested again in 5 minutes. He should never have gone back there. Finally the rebellion ends in a bloodbath. The Empire wins. Everyone dies except a dozen. Andor lets the one he loves go, and he joins Luther for new adventures... Stupid. P.S.: As for the virtuous policeman, his character is incredibly ridiculous. You see your life turn into a total failure. A descent into hell. An abusive mother. In the end, all he has to do is kill himself. A role I would never agree to play.
