@@cleggsadventures Thanks for sharing another wonderful adventure with all of us! I'd love to know more about the points that could be discovered in the Red River Valley between Minnesota & North Dakota. Is there anything in your hand reference on that? It's heavy clay soil, as it's an ancient glacial lake bottom, so I'm not even sure how one would go about finding points in this part of the country.
Wow what a day on the river. Have found a lot of artifacts in my life but I still like those well made triangles . They are my favorite. Happy hunting Scott. Peace
Great day, my friend!! You were all over them this trip. The little triangle was really sweet! I haven't been able to go yet this month because it's rained EVERY STINKING SATURDAY!
this is so exciting to watch! i feel your excitement too!! Thank you SO much for explaining what each is, and what they were used for. Those of us that are fascinated, yet know nothing really appreciate all these important details...time frame/what it's called/ what it's used for...i love learning these things from you...oh and how they get there!! wowzer...fun fun
Love watching you! About 12 years ago at a thrift store, I had a box of arrowheads in my hands. I put them back on the shelf! Regrets to this day. I've lived near rivers all of my life but digging didn't occur to my dad or me. You're an inspiration!! And BTW my 5th gr grandmother was Shawnee.
Hey Cleg, I just love all of your streams, I've learned a lot about ancient artifacts in the past 12 months of watching your streams. I live in Kirkersville, Ohio, just 23 miles east of Flint Ridge. If you're ever in my area I would love to meet you, I'll keep an eye out for your latest streams. Sincerely, Jack Dicke
What an amazing video l Clegg. Ur finds on this trip are my absolute favorites we have found over the years. What a day. Makes all those rainy days so worth it. Congratulations Clegg.
@@cleggsadventures im just wanting to know where on the ohio river could i go to look for arrowheads, i just dont want to get myself into trouble, is it legal along the water in all the states?
@@JamesJoseph-te3jm James, not sure what state you are in, but some states have very strict laws. I’m in Northern WV and the river banks are privately owned all the way to the water. You’re allowed anywhere the land owner allows you. Only places here not allowed are: national forests and the Islands in the river. I think in KY you can surface hunt but they don’t allow sifting or digging. Just kinda have to call the Game Warden, they would have all the rules
@@cleggsadventures im in michigan, but i was planning a weekend trip down there somewhere (still researching) i was just looking for a spot along the ohio to surface hunt
@@JamesJoseph-te3jm If you do come down this way, it’s easier to have a kayak and launch it at a boat ramp or something. Most of the beaches are overgrown and hard to get down to the water
Another good video brother, you killed Em ! Very good job explaining your craft, that definitely helps out the newer less experienced community. I’ll buy Rocky a pair of gloves so he doesn’t get blisters on his hands from the shovel, maybe that’ll get him out there to help!😂👍👍👍
Great video Sir, alot of good info. on how those artifacts make it down to the beach. One heck of a day. New sifter looks great, hope you get as many miles out of it as the one you replaced. Good job👍
Much Appreciated. The old one got washed away. I kept it stashed in the weeds but didn’t have it high enough up the bank and the flood took it. It was old anyway
Great video brother!! DOUBLE WHAMMY! That triangle is a STINGER 🔥. I went looking the other day but I about sunk in muck 😂. The new sifter seems to be working well! 💪. I was thinking paint pot on that little dish, but you just never know! Best of luck out there! ✌️
the hematite could be another part to a spinning wind powered attention device that marked territory or trails. maybe it has some nutting stone connection
Man I love the work you do, and these vids! I'm probably about the same age as you.... and slowing down with the energy levels these days. Your vids make me want to get off my butt, and go hunt for these awesome artifacts with my Family! Such fun stuff. Amazing! You are just awesome, Brother!
Have really enjoyed your videos for years. I search a couple of creeks using a floating screen and shovel the way you do. Some of my best finds in the last 10 years have come from creeks. Would really like to "pick you brain" sometime for more tips Lol.
@@cleggsadventures yep the one offs are. Me and my daughter found one last weekend it’s a bird point that’s can’t be identified might be somewhat of an eccentric.
Finding your channel sparked my own journey into artifact hunting and I recently found my first point. Thank you for sharing your adventures and knowledge. I love learning about those who came before us
Love your channel and a feel your enthusiasm ! I just recently caught the arrow hunting bug up in the Cascade mountains near Seattle. My son and I happened to find a few points at the edge of a lake along an old Native American trail which goes over the mountain pass. It’s covered in snow right now, but come spring, we will surely go back !
Patience …. It pays off ! The river answers to no man … Wow I’m stunned … stunned I tellya . The craftsmanship of those artifacts is breathtaking, congratulations Scott. I just ordered The Official Overstreet guide , thanks for that tip. The Internet is great for looking up stuff quick, but I love thumbing through a book - can’t beat it. I’ll watch your vids several times as they are interesting informative and gal darnet relaxing too Oh & John Masters sings Hey Clegg !! I’ll come back - ya here 😊
Wow bro, you had a good day on the river. And great weather too! That 1st point was a killer, next 1 very nice as well. The hemotite piece I believe is an archaic bottle cap of sorts... lol. Hard to say, but it looks as if used for something due to the scratches in the cup side. I've found similar examples, minus the scratches, on several occasions and always drag em home with me just because. Love how you educate your viewers on the types and ages of what you find. Impeccable work! May the great spirits be with you 👍🇺🇸
Glad you were able to get out there again Scott. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks for the info, you have taught me and many others alot. You're not gonna beLEEV this! After you talked abt finding worked pieces in random places such as truckloads of gravel, septic rock, etc. I did just that shortly after watching your vid. Septic rock i spread out yrs ago to make a rock garden, i looked it over and found a odd type of discoidal/ cup🤗
I teach 6th grade history and the kids ask to watch your videos. That type of interest is rare these days. I bought an Overstreet book and we explored it in class. Just found a new 150.00 set of Dunlop rubber boots for $6.00 at the Goodwill, and am going to start my expeditions around my house. I live in a primo spot. Am 300 yards of flatland away from a nice WV creek. Sleepy Creek in Morgan County WV.
Another exceptional video Scott. You were having a heck of a great day out there! I guess the flood did its work to your advantage. Keep em coming Scott!
I love you channel I grew up down in your area, and use to spend some time looking for points and marbles. I haven’t in a number of years, but your videos have inspired me to build a new screen and get out and look for some further up the Ohio a few miles west of Pittsburgh where I live now. Keep the videos coming I’ve already learned a ton and I just found your channel a couple weeks ago
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos and explaining what’s happening at every step . You are very inspiring and give me inspiration to go out more and search.
Can you imagine making a video of digging and sifting soil on the Indiana side of the Ohio river looking for artifacts and an Indiana Conservation Officer walking up and putting you in handcuffs ?
Great job Scott. You give me hope for the for the spring . You teach us all much . You are kicking butt today . Of all the people who are looking for artifacts , I feel you are the most know legible, who is on you tube . It looks as though , you have made a new sifter . Congratulations Scott, you are for sure the big dog of the river , Rocks back is probably hurting him again . Rocky is like a blister , he shows up when the work is finished
🥓 Ok Clegg thanks to you I found a big ole clue today that I’m in the right spot. My first fire rock ! I had no idear about their existence until I watched you n Rocky. I found a prominent hill by a nice flowing crik (private property) & there she was lookin up at me. Even stranger it’s shaped like a heart. So thanks for that ….. Ok now i’m headed over to Myers lake to see if I can hook old Sam ! I’ll be back later on ….. ✌️
Much Appreciated! I did this one last year on what I’ve found on the channel up to that point. Three Years of CLEGG’S ADVENTURES ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FoIN1R4gM8o.html
Thanks for another good show brother! I learn more and more about digging and screening watching your outings. I mainly walk plowed fields here in Northern Kentucky and been very successful and lucky at it. Keep saving history!!
@@ridgenhollerrelics7369 Yeah, the river bank is a bit different. It’s all privately owned but very grown up in most places. People really don’t mind if you stop in a boat and look around, as long as you’re not leaving your rubbish behind. But if sifting, I would always ask permission.
Hi Clegg, I’m a big fan. I’m from Massachusetts and am going to be visiting the Ohio river in April…I think we’re staying in Wade and was probably going to use the boat ramp off of Rt 7. Any advice or pointers on areas around there to look or just basically just anywhere along the River? I made a sifter and am bringing a shovel… I can’t wait! Anyway thanks for making these videos I do enjoy them.👊🏼 Jeff
I’m new to arrowhead hunting. I think it’s amazing. Do you do any group hunts? I metal detect and have found a few Indian tools you may recognize. Great videos! I’m not far from the Ohio River.
