Why Are Bad Skate Shoes So Expensive? 

I cannot back this video. The Lynx OG is one of the greatest shoes of all time.

Why is he wearing the OGs mismatched? I don’t feel like y’all gave the OGs the respect it deserves. I love my Bronze Lynx OG

I rather skate the ogs but I prefer puffy shoes that's what I grew up skating and I have no problem flipping in or out of tricks.

I think it’s all personal preference, dudes like Kalis, Wenning, Stevie, Kelly Hart, Kevin Bilyeu or Nick Dias does insane shit with the OGs, but now I see the Brazilian DC team rocking the Lynx Zero and its fire too. With any Skate shoe you just have to adapt

the ogs are my favorite skate shoes i’ve ever skated, i’ve never felt like board feel helped or hindered me so i don’t mind if it’s gone

you have to wear the ogs around for a while before they get good and break in and when they do they feel amazing and has alot more boardfeel then they do right out of the box.

These guys have been wearing $80 flip-flops that last 2 weeks as skate shoes for the last 10+ years when they throw on OG puffy shoes that last 6 months: "hOw Do We SkAtE tHeSe??" I HATED the fact that any surviving core skate shoe brand went all-in on these slimmed down low profile shoes and slip on shoes. I miss the comfortable puffy fat tongued shoes that lasted forever

DC Pure's are one of my favorite shoes to skate. I might give these a shot when I need to get another pair of shoes.

Lots of cats are hating on your assessment of the shoe, but I totally agree with you. I opted out of skating those big bulky shoes back in the mid to late '90's. I always bought cheap Fila, Nike, Adidas (gazelles were the bomb), Puma, or Reebok canvas or suede shoes. Sometimes DVS. They didn't last as long, but I loved how I could feel the board so much better with them.

Skateboarding was more niche back in the day. I paid almost so much money for skate shoes back in the day. Now you can get DCs for 40 bucks

The Zeros have nothing on the OGs. The ogs have better padding and last way longer than the zeros

One thing that some people dont understand is that to wear and play with shoes like these you must have the whole style. What i mean is that this shoe has its own way of wearing and its own beautt

I know it is not new at all, but man, everything I see the yellow in the building it makes me just a bit happier, I love it.

When you get older a thicker shoe definitely helps you skate longer as you absorb less impact. It cones at a price as does thinner shoes. No free lunches in skating kids..Btw for me not a big Nike guy except soft leather(not suede) JANOSKI slip-ons ina halt size bigger than my true size as they are so narrow.

I do think one thing remains kind of underexposed is the potential for a fat shoe to be more durable. I mean, I love puffy shoes that still have board feel, so that definitely matters. But whenever I'm skating my eS Accel OGs, I just never have to worry about damaging the shoe or impacts. And seeing how I did my first flip tricks with them, the board feel thing isn't the end of the world. The Lynx OG also sounds like it may be a more limited run, which in and of itself is more expensive to do, whilst also charging that sweet nostalgia money on top unfortunately. I also wonder if the DC Lynx Zero is like an eS Accel Slim or Etnies Joslin type shoe in being that 'in-between but still puffy' type of shoe. If yes, I'm definitely interested in trying the Lynx Zero.

The Lynx are a solid shoe, not terrible by any means, that being said they are very different then most skate shoes these days, they require a decent break in time and a decent amount of time to get used to them

talk about "no board feel", i started skating in shoes with air in the heel! moved to DC Stag, Court Graffik SE(very durable) and recently the Stag2s... big fan of DC, been meaning to try Lakai Atlantics or Adidas Buzenits and 3ST.003 for a slimmer toe box while still having the cupsole design but im reluctant to give up my fluffy pillow tongue. also, ive never tried vulcs... not a fan of the look

The Og lynx are not bad skate shoes. They're comfortable, stylish, and last forever.

Zeros are crap. OG’s all the way. He looked so much better in the OG’s. Tricks also looked smoother and stylish.

I've always skated Vans but I recently got a pair of DC Lukodas and I can't skate them whatsoever

at the end of the day, you skate what you like lol but it is 40 dollars cheaper than an ‘og reissue’ and are more tailored to be skate friendly

It’s bias depending on what you are comfortable with . If you skate thinner shoes you probably or won’t expect certain responses within that bulkier shoe. If you already skate that bulkier shoe you expect how it’ll react and it’s more comfortable . It’s all about tuning into the shoe

the lynx isn't a bad shoe, it depends on what you want to skate and almost a little bit of a generational difference i dont usually skate ogs but theres a massive reason they are popular

When I was skating in the early 2000s I hated the DCs they felt horrible. I preferred skating in globe or ES skate shoes.

Ogs are better, I like the lace loops so you don’t break laces. Don’t see that as much anymore. I had the dc boxer late ‘90s and it was bulletproof. They get better as they wear, that’s half the point of puffy shoes. Buying a thin shoe for “board feel” is like buying jeans with holes in them already
