Why do caskets have keys that are different lengths? Kari the Mortician gives you an example of why two lengths are used and in which scenarios...and why to use two hands to control the key! @KaritheMortician kari@karithemortician.com
This isn't something we have over here in the U.K. as our Deceased are laid directly on to the floor of the coffin, so it is quite interesting for us to have this raised casket floor explained and to see it in action. I spit my tea out when you knocked the mannequin's head off the pillow; I love the Mortician humour!
My jaw dropped when you knocked that mannequin head down. Thank you for keeping that in the video. It is good for illustration purposes and I got a good little laugh from it. I love your channel, I’m glad I found it.
LOL I LAUGHED TOO WHEN THE HEAD CAME OFF. REMINDS ME OF THE FIRST TIME I RENEWED CPR with my late hubby. He had very good lungs and when the was giving the breaths to the manican he blew so hard that the head went flying across the room ! 😅😂🤣🤣🤣
A casket key is an ergonomically designed Allen Wrench for easier cranking. I've tried using a regular Allen Wrench (couldn't find a casket key) & needed to use a vise grip for leverage & torque. Since then, I've learned to always keep spares everywhere in both sizes.
Awesome video that makes sense i like the longer ones and tucking them in is sad but if they are saved ill see them again. I am Christian. This is very interesting. Kari can you do a video of explaining how caskets are lowered into the ground? Would be interesting to see
This is interesting...Ive watched several caskets close and never seen this..but have seen the lock on outer end of casket.... Dont recall, and you may have, a lock in the casket...So how does this lock work?
This is a weird question. But are there any issues that must be dealt with when placing very short people (adults) in caskets? I assume they must be stabilized in some way so that they don't move around.
Do you ever let them keep the key if they pay for another? I could see how that could be a token of a final “interaction”. Also talking about locking are you a believer in a gasket or no gasket promoting airflow?
You really need a sense of humor as an FD. Whenever business was slow, I would drop-kick old styrofoam heads in the FH parking lot making sure no one saw me. To some it would seem strange seeing a guy in a suit playing. For me it was stress relief.
