Many parts of the world are currently experiencing above-average temperatures, with meteorologists saying this is largely a result of global warming.
While some areas are seeing colder conditions, far more regions are enduring temperatures described as being quite a lot warmer than average.
Swathes of the globe including North America, southern and eastern Asia and south-eastern Europe are currently experiencing extreme temperatures.

It’s all BS. When I was at school in the 1980s they scared us about the ozone layer. Now it’s never mentioned. Apparently it repaired itself after we all changed to non-cfc aerosols which is nonsense. It’s propaganda to scare us into compliance. The weather is no different in 2024 compared to 1984 in the U.K., it does flood a bit more, but we have built on so many natural water flows and reclaimed so much land from the sea it’s not surprising. We should enjoy this interglacial period as it won’t be long. Maybe a mother thousand years. After that we will be plunged into an ice age for thousands of years. That is because all the natural cycles (Milankovitch and others) say we are supposed to be heading toward the next major ice age and another mini ice age on the way. According to the interracial cycles we are supposed to be cooling. Atmospheric carbon is supposed to be reducing. Glaciers are supposed to be growing. We already passed the natural thermal maximum a few centuries ago and from here on it is supposed to be cooling. Which is why scintists are raising the alarms. It appears we broke nature, and the global heating is going the wrong direction. And since we were already so near the thermal maximum, going up from here is higher than anything seen in the last million years. Quickly. With no sign of stopping.

@Susanne-qp8vj
@Susanne-qp8vj Месяц назад
The amount of solar energy Earth receives has followed the Sun’s natural 11-year cycle of small ups and downs with NO NET INCREASE since the 1950s. Over the same period, global temperature has risen markedly because of man made climate change. What is a heat dome? When a high-pressure area builds up within a jet stream, the air descends towards the surface and gets compressed towards the ground, forming a heat dome. Air is crowded within a smaller volume, so it is forced to heat up. The layer of high-pressure blocks the hot air from rising and prevents clouds from forming, allowing more radiation from the sun to hit the ground. Heated air that is trapped below the high-pressure system will become increasingly warmer because it is unable to escape beyond the dome. The jet stream is a band of strong winds at high altitudes that flows around the globe and significantly influences weather conditions. It is driven by the temperature difference between the equator and the poles. With global warming, the Arctic is warming faster than the mid-latitudes, reducing the temperature difference and causing the jet stream to weaken and slow down. The weakening and slowing of the jet stream cause it to become wavier, resulting in larger and more stable high- and low-pressure systems. These waves can get stuck and persist longer, leading to extreme weather conditions.

Under natural conditions the slow changes are enough to strongly impact who lives where with what quality of life. We are living in a way that depends on predictability in agriculture. Technology allows us to paint ourselves into a corner that we can't get out of because the technology no longer works effectively.
@professorakiba434
@professorakiba434 Месяц назад
Unfortunately that isn't the case. Cycles of temperature changes are always related to either geologic events on the planet such as volcanic eruptions, space related phenomena such as large comet or asteroid impacts or biological phenomena such as the great oxidation event 2 billion years ago that was caused by photosynthetic organisms increasing oxygen levels in the atmosphere. Example the Younger Dryas cooling event 10,000 years ago being caused by the breaking down of Lake Agassiz. The cooling event related to the merging of North and South America 5 million years ago that led to the formation of the Gulf Stream. The Chixilub Asteroid that created a long period of "nuclear" winter on Earth as the skies became saturated with dust spewed up from the collision. And not all changes are extremely slow. Example 1883 when Krakatoa erupted and summer temperatures in the northern hemisphere fell by an average of 0.4 degrees celsius in the year following. Sorry but you seem not to understand how climate has changed in the past and what actually is responsible for it.

Within the last 5000 years, there have been three warming periods (referred to as optimums, not crises), Minoan, Roman and Medieval. The Minoan was the warmest, followed by the Roman and then Medieval. All three were warmer than today, looking at the overall trend appears to indicate a cooling. When the IPCC produced its first Assessment Report, they used the chart showing those warm periods. They quickly realised that it didn't support their global warming narrative, so switched to using the crooked hockey stick from Michael Mann.
