Many people, so many people in fact, believe China is an evil place and the Chinese need a rescue from the evil Communist Party - nothing could be further from the truth
Unfortunately, due to a slow wifi in a rural Chinese hotel, I can't upload the video to Substack yet but the script is here: open.substack....

Hi Jerry. The amerikans were financially and logistically supporting the Friench during their war in Vietnam. After the French got kicked out, the amerikans got involved openly and directly. It wasn't about communism it was to perpetuate colonialism and to gain a footprint next to China so the imperialist could wage the big war.... the one against China... purely for ideological and racial reasons. Firstly the anglos who run government can't stand to see China-man succeed. Secondly, they need to spread "capitalism" using terror and war in order for their rich to try and rule the world. Thankfully, that has so far failed. And as you said, the amerikans began talking to China only because they were afraid the USSR could actually win. The amerikans allowed China to join the WTO also partly because they wanted to ship jobs to China, make even bigger bucks, and break the backs of the unions in amerika at the time. And when it became convenient, the amerikans then turned around to blame China and demonise her.

There's no daylight between colonialism and capitalism. The idea of a few people having practically everything at the expense of everything else is pretty old. It's been rebranded from slavery to feudalism and it's now called capitalism. Socialism and communism were created by observing previous systems built on greed. They offer something different.

US cannot afford not to have an enemy for its citizens to divert their attention to. If all the citizens have time to look at US's internal problems civil war will break out. Take US debt for example. It is now $35.4 trillion and the cost of servicing the debt will be over $1 trillion this year. In Sep now the cost has exceeded $951 billion.

Great answer. A few days ago I had an exchange with a long time friend here in Italy who was dissing China for things he had no idea about. It was so hard to discuss with him cos he would interrupt me all the time to impose his beliefs on anything I would say, even though I had lived over 20 years in HK. Being an old time friend this discussion left a very bitter and now permanent mark on me. Seeing that those you call friends are willfully ignorant is painful enough, but this type of ignorance isn't just willful but also arrogant. The arrogance of imposing his television opinions on someone who had direct experience and not asking a single question to me but rather exposing his suppositions. I can tell you that when I moved to HK I have not experienced any sorts of cultural shock, because HK is strangely welcoming and lively. But I have experienced a cultural shock coming back home after all these years. It's very upsetting.

Hostile to countries that have the potential to compete with the US, has become a mandatory US playbook from time to time. We can see the US hostile to the Soviet Union which was a great power in the past, and until now is still hostile to Russia. We can also see the US hostile to Japan when the Japanese economy rivaled the US economy, so that the Plaza Accord emerged. We can also see the US hostile to Libya, when Moanmar Qadafi's idea was to create a currency that could rival the USD. We can also see the US hostile to Iraq, when Saddam Hussein received EUR for their oil. About twenty years ago, we could still see the US mocking cheap, low-quality products made in China, but did not hate China, so it is no wonder that Apple moved to China. But after China developed so rapidly and began to rival the US, the US's attitude changed completely. Today, every US politician talks about China, what they talk about is how to block, contain, damage, destroy, and thwart China's success.

There's a not-often mentioned thread of racism and ethno-supremacy in the Western psyche. This goes very deep into Western thinking, from think-taks, the political class, the corporate and technical elite, in academia, the media, and the general population. Most Americans don't think of themseves as racist, but when their cheese is moved by someone of another race (in this case, Chinese), the shock and indignation comes to the fore. And the 'They're Communists' label comes out, because it side-steps the racist trope and swaps it with a political one. The political class and media then lather-on the Human-rights violations narratives to paint China as an 'Evil' country to justify theis 'othering'. This is the way Western thinking is constructed and reinforced. It is particularly sad for them, because it erodes everything they supposedly think they stand for; equality, freedom, justice, and brotherhood of man. China bears no malice towards the West. Indeed, the Chinese see cooperation and respect of sovereignty as cornerstones of its foreign policy, not some Monroe-vian Spheres of Influence carving-out of the World. But so far, it has found very few listeners in the West. This is why the Global-Majority are gravitating towards BRICS because, they see a benign and cooperative partner in China and the other BRICS founding member states. You cannot dismiss the strategic thinking of 100+ countries in the Global-Majority as 'communist, socialist, or being bribed'. The US has been bribing, coup-ing developing countries for half a century, it has never gotten anywhere near the attractiveness of BRICS. That tells a lot.

The core purpose of Chinese Communist Party is to serve the people. Nevertheless the Party has made detours and mistakes, and there have been many corrupted officials and scums, but the history of New China has proved that its core purpose has not changed. The most obvious example is that the number of 850 millions people who living in extreme poverty in China have disappeared, and there are no homeless people on streets in China while extreme poverty is on rise in the US. In term of protecting ordinary citizens, there more than 1.2 million people have died in Covid in the US, and in China, with four times the population of the US has only lost a few thousands. As we all know on the surface the American politicians were voted into power by people, but they only serve the interest of their donors behind the scene, not serve the majority of ordinary voters, that's including all elected governments and presidents of the US, they never serve the interest of the vast majority people after being elected. Such system led to the disorderly expansion of capital and the vicious monopoly. Up from the US President to senators, congressmen and party members can openly, legally take money (donates) from enterprises and capitalists which is 100% crime of corruption in Chinese system. Those US politicians took money and commissions from gun lobbies, military-industrial complex and Wall Street Jewish groups, and those consortiums also control the media, manipulate public opinion, to lie and cheat the public, in return, the US politicians must do 2 things: 1. making external enemies to shift internal problems, 2. provoking wars elsewhere for more arm deals.

I think capitalism alone is not enough to explain the anti-China attitude of Westerners toward China. In simple terms, if a regime is not aligned with the neo-con globalists and has achieved relative success, then it is considered a threat. So will the problem be solved if China is more aligned with US? Not really. This is where unipolarity has its weakness. Pakistan can be more anti-US and the US will not be too bothered. The standards which Pakistan is expected to uphold is much lower than China. To be considered not as a threat, China is required to submit to more demands which China does not want.

I would also add that there is also the confirmation bias Westerners get from the presence of the large oversea Chinese communities. They either didn't know them and just look at that sheer number and arrive at the conclusion that there must be a huge problem there. And for those who have friends that are in the oversea Chinese communities, they probably would not realize that many of them are descendants from the victims of the century of humiliation, Chinese civil war, sanctions combine with early policy errors...etc. Let's forget about those who instigate color revolution, break the law and have to flee the country, the rest would have a high chance to have an incomplete take on what China is now. Unless these descendants keep close touch with their ancestral land, they would also retain at best less than flattering snapshot of China. Meantime, I want to make it clear that the oversea Chinese communities might have some terrible memories pass down from their parents or grandparents, many especially if they can still speak the language and have a marginal interest in Chinese history and culture, they very much still love China. They may have the negative impressions of the CPC, but most would not argue with the result in the last 20 years and further, they absolutely would not like to see China fail or break up. They know from their parents how bad things were if that happens. Many would be strongly against any part of China going independent.

Good points that you made. Since 1945, the pre-globalists became very interested in certain groups of exiles and emigres. These included those from Afghanistan, China, Cuba, Ukraine SSR, Iran, Vietnam etc. The problem with these exiles is that their opinion do not necessarily reflect those of their home regions. In the case of China (including Tibet, Taiwan and Hongkong), many of these emigrants were strongly anti-Red. Similar situation regarding the Vietnamese exiles. However, these exiles tend to have significant influence within the US. This resulted in parallel alternate realities being presented to the average white American.

I have also posted a reply to a question: Africa 'in Bed' With China is Good Deal - Prof. Ken Ife China’s strategy in Africa is pragmatic and straightforward. They have no desire to conquer or dominate other countries, a feat they could have achieved centuries ago when they were a global superpower. Instead, having become the world’s manufacturer and the second-largest economy, China seeks raw materials for its manufacturing sector, markets for its goods, and jobs for its construction and service companies. Africa meets all these needs. Additionally, with rising labor costs in China, Africa offers cheaper labor for Chinese manufacturing companies relocating there. While the Chinese are not saints, they are renowned for their astute business negotiations and dealings, exploiting every opportunity for trade and investment. So, would a nation prefer one that invades and dominates their land and people, as Western nations have done for centuries, or one that comes in peace to negotiate trade deals?

It is simply because that the China is on the Right path of Development whereas the Western countries ,US allies and US are feeling the threats of China's rise without plundering any country like the Western colonial System and also the infrastructure that the China built in the countries along the path of One Belt One Road that benefits those countries with job creations and technology transfer when building the infrastructure. that infrastructure brings the economic development which has long been denied to them by the Colonial Master. And those Countries now can see lights at the end of the tunnel which indirectly denied the relentlessly plunder of natural Resources by the Western Countries and caused the Western Countries a drop of living Standards. So, it is natural to be anti-China. Why wouldn't they???

It might have something to do with 80 years of Cold War propaganda, followed by the age of American hegemony. A hegemony that seeks to maintain full spectrum dominance of the world's regions. Now that China is surpassing the US and the West at its own game, the US is redoubling its efforts to vilify and weaken China with hopes that their hegemony will continue forever. There is nothing more dangerous than an animal that is weakened and wounded. There's some historical reasons for some of it - many people fled to HK because the Comunists on coming to power would have punished them, either after th revolution when they were taking land and property from rich familes or during the cultural Revolution, so I can understand some of that - however, the modern day youth in HK was getting influenced by British and American ( mostly) spy agencies, they were funded in part by organisations such as the National Endowment for Democracy and they were disillusioned with changes not being fast enoug - they were disgruntled because they were both educated and paid to be disgruntled - some of them are now being released from prison and expressing deep regret

@jerrystakeonchina799
@jerrystakeonchina799 2 дня назад
Didn't mean it to mislead, but if you see the number of westerners who attack me on a adaily basis on social media you'd probably understand more why I say this. Westerners are, to a large extent, misled, misinformed and therefore mistaken about China - even I was before I came here, that's common, they are mistakenly anti-China. I have friends who visit China often, and once when I mentioned that the Ipsos Global Happiness Index listed China as the happiest country in the world, the wife of the couple remarked, well, the Chinese would have to say that wouldn't they - this is a person who has been to China at least 20 times and spends at least a month here every time - she believes Chinese people are wonderful, she loves her time here but thinks they are forced to tell a survey that they are happy - what does a signal like this tell me? It tells me that she, despite what she sees with her own eyes twice a year for at least a month each time, is mistaken and still believes some of the misinformation
@latiendaca1773
@latiendaca1773 2 дня назад
No, my point was the title says “westerners”, yet the contains were not about “westerners”, only western entities. Yes that “they had to say it” is well seeded in the westerners’ mentality. For example, the Harvard’s polling that 96% approval rate on Xi. And when anyone use the “had to” line to excuse the high rating. I'd always say, when Harvard poll has done this polling for this many years. Don’t you think Harvard knows what they are doing?

Generally speaking the same cause - ignorance. Not stupidity. Ignorance does not mean lack of intelligence. It means lack of awareness of facts. Some historical and some current news. States that are blessed with citizens possessing awareness are able to vote in the most effective politicians. Don't just accept what you read/hear. Similarly, the higher a country’s perceived level of corruption, as designated by Transparency International, the more favorably that nation tends to view China. Nigerians, for instance, fare the worst on the corruption scale among the countries included in this survey. Meanwhile, 70% of Nigerians have a favorable view of China, second only to Russians. But both the level of civil liberties and corruption within a country closely track with overall GDP per capita. In contrast, investment from China is only weakly related to views of China across the countries included in this survey. Despite pouring hundreds of billions of dollars into the Belt and Road Initiative, especially in emerging economies, the size of capital investments or construction contracts funded by Beijing in a country is only weakly related to that country’s overall views of China. Indonesia, for example, has received more than $47 billion for capital investment and construction projects from China since 2005, but attitudes toward China in the country are split evenly, with 36% favorable and 36% unfavorable. On the other hand, China has sent Nigeria $44 billion in the same time, and 70% of Nigerians view China favorably.

Many Westerners are so anti-China because of the followings : 1. China's rapid rise has made them very uncomfortable due to jealousy and anger. They want to vent off their unhappiness by doing very irrational acts. 2. China strongly upholds the motto : MUTUAL RESPECT , MUTUAL PROSPERITY , PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE. China has been very generous to provide assistance to many countries , including Africa , in terms of infrastructure , medical aids , agricultural improvement , etc. But the Westerners view it as new type of colonization. The problem is that how many Western countries do not look down (despise) on Africans because of their poverty and poor development ? 3. China has shown good example to the world : EMPTY TALKS RUIN COUNTRY ; SMART AND HARD WORK PROSPERS NATION. More and more African countries have been inspired by China's pragmatic approaches to solve national problems. Many Westerners are not happy to see this trend because they prefer to talks rather than actions to show off their belief in " freedom of speech ". They argue just for the sake of arguing .
