The sanctions are not about human rights but containment efforts against the BRI, solar energy, cotton and other labour intensive industries, which affect the livelihoods of the people. They were meant to smear China's reputation among the muslims and incite local unrest. A playbook that is too often played against weaker countries (e.g. Africa, South America, Asia). Therefore the sanctions will not end until the goals of containment are achieved. Still it is good that an impartial obejctive investigation has been carried out by the UN which unmasked the malicious nature of these sanctions. What 's happening in Gaza is opening the eyes to the true hypocrisy, double standards and lies by a certain hegemon. Wishing you a full speedy recovery.
Cuba has been sanctioned by the U.S. for 62 years since 1962 with a draconian trade blockade around that small Caribbean island in an effort to overthrow the Cuban Government. Has that succeeded? While originally directed at Fidel Castro for having the audacity and temerity to thumb his nose at U.S. hegemony (a'la the Monroe Doctrine), Castro is long gone, having passed away 8 years ago but the trade sanctions continue - and even despite a U.N. overwhelming 184 countries in the General Assembly voting to end the trade blockade vs 2 (the US and Israel) against and 3 abstentions, the U.S. simply ignored the wishes of the majority of the World, demonstrating its height of arrogance. So, what makes anyone believe that the U.S. will abide by the UN resolution to end the sanctions against Xinjiang? The U.S. has become a rogue nation which is isolating itself from the world.
@@George-k6o9t True. Yet the harm caused by these actions of USA must be felt & understood by all of us, everywhere, most especially in USA, "land of the free & ME, ME, ME."
Desperate and dangerous actions of a declining hegemony even threatens the ICC for their actions after they themselves have been aiding and abetting the current apartheid and g**oc**e
Thank you Jerry for discussing this important topic! UN is correct in its investigation results & in asking all countries to stop sanctions against Xinjiang. I doubt US will listen but the world will see clearly the injustice, presumption of guilt & violation of human rights! US & its allies have been ruthless in using blatant lies to sanction Xinjiang!
It's not well known, but it's very hypocritical too. They OFFICIALLY sanction Xinjiang cotton. They QUIETLY buy ammunition made with Xinjiang guncotton, because it's the best cotton. I was completely surprised myself that the US is a huge importer of Chinese bullets despite all their rhetoric, sanctions, bans, hate campaigns, etc.
I think the UN needs to change and China has presented a plan for that - it will change because it must, if not, it has already become irrelevant in its current form
Interesting that China hasn't sought that, it has conformed to all the rules and played the adult in the game - I don't think it's part of China's nature to be vengeful, but for sure, they aren't going to help USA with their oen problems unlee and until the USA takes positive steps to change - note that Yellen came asking China to buy more bonds, so China sold 53 billion more, the highest quartwrly sale in history. If I was a US economist, I'd be VERY worried right now
@@jerrystakeonchina799- after China declined to buy more U.S. junk bonds, the bullies in DC were pissed, they increase tariffs over 100% on various goods including EVs. Are they trying to kill Tesla? The last time I checked, China doesn’t sell any EVs in the US. There might be China made Tesla cars being imported due to demand in the U.S.
Great video. And congrats to Dr Alina for the truth and courage. We have studied the accusations related to Uyghurs and concluded that there's no reliable proof about the alleged abuses or crimes. Moreover, a country has no legal right to impose such sanctions against another country, given the territoriallity principle of legislative job of each country. And that kind of sanctions represents a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of another country, in case China. We're living under some kind of barbaric and irracional (dis)order. But we should understand that the sanctions don't aim protection of the uyghur population but aim to attack the china's state. So expecting the sanctioner to ammend his hand is like to expect the mercy of the butcher.
What can be done? One idea is for China/people of Xinjiang to formally launch a lawsuit against the US government in the international court and seek monetary reparations for its lies/smears. Set a precedence and hopefully that will serve as a future deterrent to further slanderous propaganda.
Agreed 100%. We need a class action against the purveyors of the dreadful lies against China. First thogh we need a top legal team who are prepared to fight this for years as the Empire will fight back.
i watched an interview from a Taiwanese with a Uyghur lady..... she said a couple went to do extra part time job on hand picking cotton as hand picked ones have higher quality than machine harvested... they were paid much higher for doing that and their income helped their in-laws to build their houses.. but now since the sanction, the employer cannot employ them anymore and they now lost a source of income and their families suffered due to the sanction.
Yes, there is a type of cotton, I think it's called long thread, or something like that, which is of such high quality, it's better picked by hand, even the best machines can't do a good job of picking it - these guys were experts at it
Such story is welcome by the US politicians who laugh till they drop as they feel they have succeeded to cripple the Xinjiang economy in order to topple the Chinese government. This is called colour revolution by CIA dictionary.
The US will simply ignore this report and carry on as always. China will use it for PR points, and carry on expanding its trade with the Global Majority while the Western economies slowly continue to circle the drain.
Thanks heaps Jerry👌👍👏👏👏🙏your voice is so imperative debunking US propaganda 🤥against Xinjiang. Your videos are always informative & brilliantly articulated 👌👍🙏 Hope you get well soon ❤️🩹take care👍🙏
We finally have official vindication! Thanks to the efforts of many like yourself Jerry who have helped push this injustice into the public forum. I know this won't get reported on anywhere in mainstream media, but let's hope it has some affect at the grassroots level at least.
Jerry! Jerry!🎉🎉 “The Truth will out” as they say. The American people are suffering 30-50% food price increases and shortages of 4,600 commonly needed medicines due to “supply chain issues”, which in English translates into “tariffs and sanctions”. My cats’ food has tripled in price. The U.S. even had to stoop to importing baby formula by plane from Europe, when one shipload from Asia would have supplied more than all those flights. In some local stores you are still restricted to how much formula you can purchase. There are news stories of cancer patients waiting for chemo therapy as their is unavailable. All of this in a time of unprecedented plenty. Time for the Free Market to return
The whole house is so corrupted, legalized corruptions, honestly, do any Americans know where to start? We got Trump vs Biden…..the other candidates are all warmongers as well. I am afraid the current $35 trillion debts will soon be $40T at the end of 2025. Sorry to bear the bad news.

Any freshman econ student could tell you that the American people are paying his tariffs." He also said that he would repeal them. While Xinjiang’s export market is not even exposed to the US market as other Chinese provinces are. Much of its foreign trade is with Central Asian countries and Russia, and now with the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). With China implementing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and other existing FTAs with other trade partners globally, that equates for opportunity for Xinjiang-produced items like clothing, machinery and equipment, chemicals, steel, autos and automotive parts, textiles and food products. Even pre-pandemic figures from China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) will show.
but America wants to sell their second rate cotton and tomatoes with an expensive prices. the don't to need evidence or proof. Accussation is not proof.
Jerry all the early comments posted showed a common trend. They are concerned about you. You have been doing good works and thus we do care that you stay in the best of health. Take care bro.
Thanks - I got worse after making that video but that was two days ago, I think a little better now as I saw a TCM doctor yesterday and have a foul concoction to drink before bed and after breakfast :-))
Chinese people will create their own domestic markets and domestic consumption in due time, consider this period of time is the darkest before dawn, China doesn’t need to seek help from the Western colonial world, sanctions will not dent Chinese people’s will to be self reliant!
The U.S. pulled their (sanctions) on Japan in the late 1970's to stop Japan's growth/prosperity to which it succeeded. Now, the U.S. is trying to pull another one off on China hoping to succeed. Instead of building friendly relations and work to cooperate more and more with other countries in order to move forward and rebuild its economy, it is sad to see them embarking on something which is going to destroy itself.
I'm glad to see that China is finally taking the necessary steps to decouple from the US and that several other nations have as well. It's boggles the mind that countries have to trade using the USD for so many years. Sincerely hope this movement keeps up and doesn't lose steam. On the human rights issue, the US is a warmonger, they survive by starting and profiting of wars. How is that not a violation.
@@jerrystakeonchina799 Indeed. Its so tragic that so few nations see this or choose to turn a blind eye to it. The sad human mentality of It's never an issue unless it happens to me. Truly do not understand as well why Japan, Philippines, South Korea and Taiwan would rather choose to side with the imperialistic US that throughout history have only proven to bring nothing but bad news.
Well done Jerry. Thanks. This quote is from Madame Defarge: "Vengeance and retribution require a long time; it is the rule." My old boss always said: Truth will Out! Indeed it will.
Time for huge apologies by Western critics', mostly women, who heaped vitriolic abuse on Michelle Bachelet for her report on Xinjiang after her fact-finding visit to the region three years ago.
Michelle Bachelet did all the right things, the report she gave was a verbal one to the UN and was highly positive, she also gave a presss conference on leaving China and had some gipes but was overall very complimentary. The report was not her, it didn't have her signature was not released by her and had no endorsment from her - I think there were evil forces afoot that day - I wouln't blame Ms Bachelet for anything as she was old, tired and stepping out of the role into a well-earned retirement. It was also her who set up the conditions for this most recent visit to take place
Thanks for bringing this very important UN report to our viewers! Congratulation to Dr. Douhan as well, and I hope that more can be done to protect her from the gathering Western mob!
Thank you for sharing this report of the UN Rapporteur to China. So good to know China has at last been exonerated of these viciously undermining allegations according to International Law.
This is an interesting development. A google search generates anti-China articles dated no later than Sep2022. The UN Rapporteur's findings aren't covered in western media either. Great work highlighting this issue.
Good to be back watching your videos. This is excellent news about Xinjiang, confirming the reality of the true situation. I don't expect to hear about this on British media.
(The Qur'an 49:6) Believers, when an ungodly person {Zenz, Western Media etc} brings to you a piece of news, carefully ascertain its truth, lest you should hurt a people unwittingly and thereafter repent at what you did.
Unfortunately, those types who cause the greatest harm to others, know nothing about repentance, having no human conscience and therefore, will regret nothing. They are more appropriately described as "psychopaths" and "sociopaths". Beware of those wild human animals with a cunning intelligence.
It's not like you can prevent every virus from entering your body, there is no excuse needed for things we can't control, but the ones we can control. Sanctioning a whole region's trade is never a sign of wanting to prevent misuse of trade but rather causing destruction in the region, otherwise you would pick out the companies you want to sanction instead of sanctioning any company.
Great point, if they really thought here as a problem there, they would have asked John Deere to leave, as well as Hilton, Marriott, McDonalds and KFC - the fact they never did speaks volumes
What we need is a legal precedent to firmly establish the illegality of US's unilateral sanctions. China has the size and resources to push back against the US's lawbreaking, but it's the smaller victims of US bullying that needs help most urgently. If China can use its resources to establish this legal precedent, hopefully it'll become much easier for those smaller countries to make their case as well.
As a Chinese, it is difficult to understand why foreigners believe lies that occured in Xinjiang. The Han Chinese have strict one child policies but do not include Xinjiang, so Xinjiang's population is growing rapidly. Xinjiang students can attend the same universities with lower scores as Han Chinese. More than 80% of cotton in Xinjiang is cultivated by machines. How come workers be forced? What benefits can the government gain? On the other hand, is it not contradictory for foreign media to promote the serious unemployment of Chinese people without jobs?
I wonder if it’s possible for China to label all exports to US as “Made in XUAR, China” even if they aren’t. Explicit support for Xinjiang by the whole of China is needed to tell off US.
The lady who visited was the HR Commissioner, Michelle Bachelet, she said highly positive things which were not widely publicised - and the report was issued within minutes of her retirement, without her signature - I'd say she felt the same but hadn't investigated, it was her actions which led to this visit
Proverbs 26:27 Amplified Bible (AMP) Whoever digs a pit [for another man's feet] will fall into it, And he who rolls a stone [up a hill to do mischief], it will come back on him.
Jerry, thank you from deep of my heart for showing this to the world, the contrast between Xin Jiang and Gaza teaches us to keep the ability to distinguish the right and wrong, to always looking for the truth !
When you run out of real issue, imaginary issues need to be created so that they are practically no solution since they are based on fears of one own's shadow!
Kim Iversen has a good episode on the Uyghur thing: "The Big Business And Politics of Uyghur Genocide and Slave Labor Claims | Danny Haiphong" 08/22/2022 She's pretty well-travelled & cosmopolitan. Has a playlist on her trip to the West Bank 👍👍👍
Many thanks Jerry for your hard work to speak the truth so the world will eventually know the terrible and evil of the American foreign policy against China. Take good care friend.
In my naïve younger days, Western MSM and Hollywood influenced me to admire America. Now, more and more, as social media spreads, I am becoming enlightened to the evil, cruel and malicious propaganda from the lying and cheating Uncle Sam. More lessons learned today. Thanks, Jerry.
Likewise I was a big fan of all things American as a kid - I loved the cowboy mivies, the war movies, it was great.. then I grew up and I'm really not sure if the US changed, or if I did, or perhaps we both diverged onto different course but someitnhg happened about 40 years ago, in my mid 20s which really made me stop and think this has to end and it won't end well - we're watching that ending now
It's generally accepted that forced labor only gets you unskilled or semiskilled workers such as chain gangs or people making license plates. Yet the claims of Uyghur forced labor involve the auto industry including EV battery production which is generally considered to require a high degree of specialized skills and education. This is clearly just an excuse to try and hinder China's growth and development.
Hi Jerry, It’s very good news from Dr. Alena Douhan, and thanks to you for spreading the good new. But I undoubtably believe U.S. would never lift the sanction unless U.S. needs a product from Xinjiang. Wish you get well soon, Jerry.
Skechers did everything right and went against US instructions to pull out - after all, why should they, they had checked, re-checked audited and reaudited several times, they were happy there were no abuses in their system. Hilton, Marriot, KFC, McDonalds never had a problem doing business there - it was never about truth, it was always a plan to hurt China
@@jerrystakeonchina799 As China continues to open up and accept more and more foreign visitors in, having them travel to Xinjiang and Tibet - all the outer regions of China - the outside world will know the real truth and spit on those who have lied to it continually for decades.
@@jerrystakeonchina799 the XJ issue is more than about hurting China. The neighbours that borders XJ as well. It’s obvious to just by looking at the map why XJ was singled out, why not Yunnan or Guangxi. It’s the exit to Silk Road in ancient times and BRI in modern times. It’s to prevent China from becoming friends with Afghanistan. It’s to create trouble between China and India. Etc etc. I hope Skechers will be rewarded by the consumers for their actions.
Zimbabwe had similar response from the UN. Now some lawyers are asking for reperations due to the sanctions. If nations start to sue 5th USA im sure it will stop
I'm not sure which court would provide the venue for it, I don't think US courts will and for sure, if Zimbabwe's courts do, the US will just ignore them
The irony is that the sanctions have inflicted pain and suffering on the very people they were supposed to be helping. This of course was by design: by depriving the Xinjiang people the means to support themselves, the sanctions have helped create extreme poverty, creating the conditions of despair under which crime and terrorism often take root.
Thanks for the video Jerry. The points taken by Ms Douhan gave strength and foundation to the research done by Ms Jaq James countering and debunking ASPI propaganda. I am currently reading Ms James research. A very good read.
They do and they have The problem is, the US is militarily and economically too powerful - whenever the UN makes a decision that the US doesn't like, it sanctions the people involved in that too - this is why the UN needs change, which was the subject of a different video a couple of weeks ago
This is a sign that the UN is beginning to exert more influence in world affairs. The somewhat independent conduct of members of the UN Security Council on Gaza is another good sign.

the UN is asking the US to lift sanctions on Xingjian?! I've a silly little question - if any nation may impose economic sanctions on any other nation, what purpose does the United Nation serve?
They said there are more than one way to skin a cat. How do we know that from day one it's intended not to accuse the Chinese government of some wrongdoing that would be easy to verify as false, but to indeed deprive the Xinjiang local people of their livelihood and turn them against their government? The point is that the skinner in the end bears no damage, isn't it?
A shocking speech - he effectively called Taiwan a country, a sovereign nation and a sperate entity to China - it was possibly the worst inauguration speech I've ever seen. Also, a few days before, his "special representative" in Australia called Taiwan a Sovereign nation in a Twitter post - it seems that's the way this Administration wants to play the next few years
As usual, liked and shared 👍 However, I can’t help feeling hopeless about this report. If a UN high commissioner couldn’t do anything, what can a mere humble UN special rapporteur do about it? In my opinion, there is nothing can be done to bring the US of A to its heel on this matter. A unilateral sanction by any country against another country is illegal because it is against international laws. When it comes to international laws, it is the UN that should exact punishments against those countries that break the laws. However, the UN is utterly powerless to do that against the US of A. So unless the UN is “revolutionized”, there is nothing that can be done about it. By the way, I think you do look miserable on this video.
Never tell a sick person that she or he is looking miserable😊 All the wrong doings of USA are backfiring, more recognition for a palestinian state, more calls for reforming UN, african countries cutting ties, Brics with new gold based currency, treasure bond being sold in record volumes etc etc etc, the USA is going down, my only fear is that in despair it will cause a nuclear war!
Guilty until proven innocent applies to all countries except the US and Israel. For the odd UN resolution that does slip through to offend the US or Israel, there is the power of US veto to negate it, or , for these two favoured countries, any UN resolution is automatically "non binding" for them only, but not for others.
A Security Council Resolution is Binding, a General Assembly Resolution is non-binding - the problem with SC Resolutions is one country has the power of veto and uses it, so the system isn't working
I linked the report in the article which is linked in the description - if I put the link here, it will be removed All my videos coem with a script, which can be read to help non native speakers and in that script are links to all my research - it's very hard when I do this for people to call me a liar, they can, but they will be proven wrong every time
U$ is really funny. They forgot that technology advance. Planes and social media exist. They thought that their usual method of trying to control the media still works
