There is that. There's also a perception that a show-biz career is a marriage ender. Show business can be so demanding, especially when the idol in question is very active in it. To be successful...to be "on" for the fans and well prepared often means that spouse and family have to take a back seat and simply accept that their role is to cheer for the famous family member and not get in the way. It's not going to be the same for everyone. But the dynamics that are in play with any significantly popular idol just are not family friendly. A lot of celebrities are not going to want to marry other celebrities because they know how impractical it can be. Non-celebrities who are self-aware and perceptive are also not going to want to marry a celebrity because they know they're often going to be shunted off to the side while their spouse spends all his/her time hanging out with rich, famous, attractive people.
@@TEAM__POSEID0N This is why the most successful celebrity marriages are between two celebrities or people in the celebrity support industries. Only they have the understanding needed to tolerate their spouse's careers.
The idols are conscious that a major part of their fandom would turn their back on them for dating because in their delusional minds, the idols should stay single because fans think they are entitled to controlling their decisions, look at Chen from EXO, he was ripped apart by the public for marrying and having 2 children, the only idols I know who had success in marrying is Gummy and Taeyang

If you look back at western celebs, these guys were all in relationships, marraiges ,early on in their careers . The western fans didnt mind, they idolised them for their music / acting, but let them breathe and live their lives as well. Asian fans seem very obsessed with celebrities and think they have axright to dictate how they livd their lives ,which is wrong and very immature.
@@user-cj5mt3et7c The correction should be idol fans. It's not just in Korea but it's the same for the Japanese with their idols too. People don't care too much for musicians but if they're an idol or are marketed as one, this culture exists.
These idols live such a sad life. They are living their dreams to be in front of the camera, but they are not free. Their lives and careers are tied to their companies and possesive fans.
Cause those so called fans feel since they spemd alot of money on them, that they feel they can dictate to these kpop idols what they can and can't do off stage. When in reality there just isolating them and then wonder why these idols get depressed and etc.
Meanwhile for what I heard talking to onces they hope that whatever Twice members want they get it, if is a marriage, kids or not. they still young but meeting the right person as Gumiho said it's hard for normal people so for celebrities (and rich people as well) it's much harder... at least it's an arrangement LOL those relationships look kinda stable hmmm XD
Birth rates go down when there are economic impacts. If there is not enough money for the youth to live off of how are they suppose to support a family. You can’t make people to get married when the rental property or even housing property is through the roof. There is a lot of stressors.
You say this about Idols but a lot of people in Korea generally aren't getting married as well as in other first world countries and even when they do the divorce rate is so high
Suju members are semi traumatized of marriage due to what happened to Sungmin. It has been more than 10 years and he still is a hiatus member, because korean fandom. It was only until this year that Wookie broke the curse by marying. There was still hate towards him but it was over shone by the fact that for the first time in years all the OG members were gathered in the same place.
gdragon go through heartbreak, he said he wanted to get married on 2013 while untitled 2014 released on 2014, that's his biggest 'abt my heart type of a song' to fans and he never clarified what it is abt but you will understand with his lyrics, some said the song is abt nana komatsu. If we look at how much of a heartbreak that song was and how much of a struggle he is in with his mental health, it's safe to say his marriage won't come just like that.
Yeah i remember back in the days everyone called nana komatsu g dragon's girlfriend. It's sad that they didnt end up together. ı think komatsu is married now
My opinion is that every person, celebrity or not, take ownership of your life. You live it, not others. It is your happiness. You only have to answer to yourself. Those who criticize you are unhappy with their lives and want to see you in their imaginary world. Having a successful relationship is also hard work, just as having a successful career. There are always challenges and sacrifices, play safe is a killer for all or it will just not happen at all. So, go get that partner and live a happy life, and flip the critics!
As a fan of heechul he does wants to get married he lost a lot of confidence in his looks and age he also to hung on the idea of being independent but yet he really wants to get married hope he does some day
It so selfish for fans to expect these idols to stay singleand attacking them for having a partner during their activity period in which they are in their prime and then when they get older they forget about them and move on to a new bias leaving them traumatised and way to exhausted to find the one
Being an artist in Korea is a lifestyle, not a job. Therefore fans can't even draw the boundaries and think the artists belongs to them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The fact that entertainment companies promotes and enable this kind of thinking only make things worse. Until entertainment companies treat jobs as just a job and the public see things the same way, don't expect change anytime soon.
Yes but you also don’t have a career in entertainment in which your fans think that they own you. And would be very upset if you got married because you nurtured a weird parasocial relationship with them.

What if they can't have kids or are struggling to have them? It's a touchy subject, and I don't think there should be a video pointing out that they don't have kids. Plus I agree not our business at all.
Philippines seem to have double it population in just 40 years, if this babies boom culture never stop then Philippines will be in big social crisis in near future. Get rid of the catholic churches influence and enforce 2 child policy might improve, but the corruption in Philippines government department say meh.... OFW slave export will do the job lol
Korean celebrities, actors or kpop idols are too scared to date, not necessarily because of the scandal but because they are terrified of upsetting their fans. Because fans react so negatively but also because the Korean press unnecessarily invade celebrities privacy with the excuse that it is in the public interest. On the other hand there are some celebrities who don’t care, they date, get married etc and pay no mind to what fans or others think. But they are in the minority.
Let’s be fr here, not much people would care about you getting married or dating if you’re no longer one of the biggest names in the industry. Not saying no one at all, it’s just that there seems to be more people complaining how fans cannot let idols nor celebs date than people who actually cannot let them date. Maybe there are like the ones in the Chen case where alot of KEXOLs who went on clown mode to object his marriage and only like 20 ppl showed up, but other than that, most reactions are support
I understand the people in the comment section talking about the fact that people just don't want to get married to sometimes for the fact that you know in Asia people getting married and the birth rate and stuff are going down cuz that is true. But you would be surprised at how many celebrities even younger ones not even just these older ones and not even just in Korea have talked about wanting to get married. Then having that idea of wanting to get married and have kids but also being absolutely fucking terrified of doing so. And it has nothing to do with like the economy and how the world works. Because the sad truth is as long as you have money that shit doesn't affect you as much as you think it would. Like this is speaking from semi personal experience of having relatives that are filthy rich I'm talking part of the fucking 1% in the world type of Rich you are not affected by shit that's affecting daily normal people like they aren't even fully grasping how bad of a recession the rest of the world is in because it's not affecting them like that. if you are smart and in the entertainment industry especially if you are well beloved and liked you're making bank. There have been idols who talked about the fact that them and their parents were really smart so now they own property not only in South Korea but in other countries they own real estate they rent out spaces like they make money. The issue is the really really bad parasocial relationships in Asia. Yes it does affect international fans to but it's so much worse with the Asian fans. The way that idols are seen as property and objects more so than human by the Asian fans is kind of scary it's to the point where no one really bats an eye at them having people following them around and stalking them like the Asian fans barely sit there and talk about it as much as the international fans where it's like that's weird you shouldn't be following them places and if they call you out rightfully so while Asian fans will be like they shouldn't have said anything. I have literally seen and had conversations with some of them where they'll sit there and say the idol deserved whatever backlash they might have gotten for sitting there and trying to expose a stalker or for filming stalking people cuz that has happened multiple times where idols will grab their own phones and start filming these repeat offenders. And "accidentally" posting these pictures up or sharing them whether it's through a paid service or a public one. And the issues also the companies because let's be so fucking for real you don't see issues like this with certain companies like JYPE does not have this issue as much as some of the other companies do people or fans of twice are totally perfectlyhere for and find with the members dating and I don't think any of their fans would sit there and have a bitch fit or hissy fit about the girls getting married either and they do have quite a lot of male fans even though people don't think that I've gone to twice concerts I've gone to two of their concerts in Asia and I've gone to two of their concerts internationally and you would be surprised that there were surprisingly more male fans there then you would assume especially at the Asian concerts while at the international concerts there was slightly more female fans. But ultimately whether it's a female or male fans they have a pretty good fan base that has a more healthy parasocial relationship where it's like they like the girls they like the music and stuff that they come out with but they're perfectly fine with them having actual lives outside of being an idol. And their company helps with that because the company doesn't promote twice as the obtainable girl group where it's like their objects and not people. They're not out here pulling a Hybe where the members are perfectly fine with choreography and they like having Duo choreography but because the fans are having a hissy fit and a bitch fit over one a non-real person in the music video it was literally a I believe it was like an AI generated girl in one of their boy groups music videos it wasn't even a real actress and their fans lost their shit and then when they had a choreography with female backup dancers mind you these men in this group are like in their early twenties and I think some of them might have still been late teens like 1819 and these backup dancers are most likely like seasoned dancers in their mid to late 20s so there's like clearly nothing fucking going on between any of them but their fans had such a bitch fit that the company actually changed the choreography. and the crazy thing is that clearly the members did not like that and you can tell because there were videos and stuff of the members learning and doing the new choreo and genuinely looking a little pissed off at the fact that they had to learn a entirely new choreography because their fans were losing their shit over them doing their job with female backup dancers and the company fed into that delusion. When companies do things like that it makes those pair of social relationships worse and it makes it harder for these idols to date let alone get married like that's the big issue it's not even oh they're not even able to get married it's like they're not even allowed to be human. SME literally got rid of an entire member from their new boy group they just debuted he was actually one of the more popular members at that he had barely been in the group for like 6 months and because pictures of him pre debut before he even became a K-pop idol. Pictures and photos of him having a girlfriend before he was a celebrity came out and they literally cold this man out of his group they literally on debuted his ass technically he's on hiatus and still part of the group but let's be so fucking for real they basically kicked him out of his group because of the fact that fans were losing their shit primarily Asian fans over him having a girlfriend before he debuted. Which is scary because then it leads to a bigger issue and a bigger picture where it's like it's going to get to the point where these companies are going to have to start debuting AI generated groups because the fans aren't going to allow for humans to be humans. if they are threatening because that's something else that they've done whether you're talking about like the Karina situation or other idols were they literally threatened to cause physical harm to the member or their partner along with threatening to sit there and like cut off the bag which is what the company's care about more it's like it's gotten to the point it's genuinely concerning companies need to go back to how they were during like second and part of 3rd gen. I remember people dating from groups and I remember like rumors going around of all this person might be dating this person and the company statements would always be. And I'm clearly paraphrasing the shit out of this. " We don't know what the fuck they're doing outside of work. As long as they show up to work they do the work and we're getting paid we could give two shots if they're dating someone go touch grass bitch." Those were the days and the only time you would get the companies making a statement would be if the idol and their partner decided yeah sure just make sure that they know the rumors are true or being like no I'm not dating that person squash those rumors. Not to mention the fandoms were a lot more sane back then in terms of you had more fans that understood that this was a job and this wasn't their entire life versus fans that were like way too obsess and way to attached to them like there has been a rise in soccer fans since they've been more people becoming fans of k-pop. There's like three of them off the top of my head that I can't think of that are notorious specifically with SM artists that have literally moved from other countries there's two of them that move from the North American continent one from Canadaadd one from America who literally went through the process of getting visas and everything to move to South Korea so that they can sit there and stalk their favorite idols full-time and that's what they do they literally follow them around everywhere take a bunch of pictures and then post them up and share them on to Twitter and they have other pictures that they sit there and allegedly sell to fans who are willing to Shell out hundreds of dollars for them and it's really fucking creepy.. But the companies do not help by sitting there and basically allowing fans to get away with this creep shit behavior and feeding into the delusion. It is one thing to allow the fans to be a little delusional and allow the idols to feed into their delusion it is another thing when you are going so far as to do every and anything to make the fans happy even if it means dehumanizing your artist which I think is what a lot of these companies are starting to do and why it's such a big issue and it's more than just oh these idols can't get married or these idols can't date it's like they might put themselves in the people that they're with in legitimate danger
Maybe the companies should change from pure profit motivation to helping their artists to live happy, healthy lives and thus helping their fans to do likewise. A happy, healthy Korea, and maybe a whole world. That might be an interesting idea.
Do you hate men? wtf kind of question was that to DARA. No obviously she wants a man in her life but maybe marriage is not it and that’s okay. She finally happy
Marriage is such a joke for Korean celebs when they need to trade their bodies for drama roles, placement in the team and line for songs. If they want to get married they need to quit their career which is to be a boyfriend or girlfriend to their fans but they are too greedy for the fan's money. Look at IU who hid her 7 years relationship with the actor.
If a person decides not to be married for whatever reasons, there is nothing sad about it, even if it’s because your mother likes a tv show you are in. Why don’t you people mind your goddamn business and stop passing judgments on why people choose to stay single will ya?
Reason 1 : their popularity and success depends on them being single Reason 2 : they are rich, they fear losing their assets cause of possible divorce Reason 3 : they grew comfortably as individualistic over the years
With their popularity, Kpop idols can find easily woman and man as lovers. But marriage, their patners may see it as difficult life decisions. No privacy from paparazi 24 hours, hatred and jealousy from fans, public and media attention or blaming for anything they do (even for simple common thing, people will make it big crusial mistake or topic to debate). It's not easy to find someone who is willing to share life with all those difficulties. I remember marriage of Yuzuru Hanyu (Japanese athlete) His popularity in figure skating world equals to BTS popularity today in music industry. She divorced Yuzuru because she got depressed with everything in Yuzuru's life as worldwide famous person. Paparazy stalked and stayed around their house 24 hours everyday. Yuzuru's fans attacked her in social media. She lost her privacy and freedom as normal human. Loving each other is not strong enough for them to stay in marriage. Yuzuru got divorce, after marriage for 4 months only! 😢
These idols are basically indentured servants since the age of 14. By the time they start dating, they are in their late 20's and closer to 30. To begin dating and having serious relationships and break-ups etc. are things you do between 20-29. At the age they are now they should begin having kids, not beginnning to date. The dual problem is their potential partners (both men and women) are going to be looking for people in their early 20's and so they are facing competition from girls in their early 20's while they are entering their thirties. The last problem which I think is the biggest problem is these idols have no life skills. They have had their lives scheduled for them since ery young and the ones that do hit it big, like BLACKPINK, are even more pampered as adults. They are modern day princesses in actuality. They have food ready for them whenever they want, they are driven to and from locations, they have bodyguard to open doors and protect them 24 hours, they are dressed by stylists, they have personal assistants that plan their flights and activities. Their finances are handled by accountants and lawyers. They don't have any actual adult responsibilities on a day-to-day basis that would make them succesful life partners. Because marriage is very much like having a business partner (wife depends on husband to pick up the dry cleaning, husband depends on wife to keep track of kids medication etc.) and when you marry a person who is only beginning to develop the skills and responsibilies of a wife and mother at 30 years old, let alone a girlfriend. It won't work. Every aspect of their day is either with a manager or assistant helping them. NOW, if they do get beyond dating and actually marry. These idols would never have any of the life skills to create a stable family or keep a man for decades and stay together with until having grandchildren. They would have to cook and clean and get up at all hours of the night to feed and raise kids. And raising kids is exhausting. I said it here first, check back on this comment in the next few years, I guarantee if any of the BLACKPINK girls get married, they will be divorced within 5 years. Lisa especially, she has the least to offer a man beyond her looks. Jennie is part of a chaebol family so may her husband will stick around for the money and cushy life ot else he will be threatened by the chaebol family to stay with Jennie. Rose is too much of a child to ever have a man take her seriously as a responsible mother. Jisoo...maybe. She seems stable enough that she could be a mature dependable wife. Her ability to increase Dior's yearly revenue by upwards of %500 means she is a cash cow for the French fashion houses and evidently she is a pleasure to work with, a real professional, not a diva, and reportedly is friendly with everyone regardless of position/title on a project. And she has a personality that charms the heads of marketing.
no one should have to apologize for being in love. some of yall dont want them to be in a relationship just because theyre ur "bais" or you "love them." you dont even know them outside their public celeb life. i mean be honest with yourself, these idols have millions of fans and the chance of you ending up with one of them is extremely slim. its so halfwitted that they cant be with anyone for 5 years in the first place. its a basic human emotion, its not something that can be controlled. if you love someone for who they really are, then go for it.
sad truth, how come there are so many unmarried american? there are unmarried people everywhere in the world, not just KPOP idol. marriage rate is declining each year, eveywhere.
The companies pour millions into the groups with no guarantee of return. If the artist reads the contract, signs the contract, gets paid, then not much room to complain about the dating ban. Seems like a dumb ass rule but nobody is forced sign.
First. Kim Heechul is merried if you watched ugly duckling than you know he merried himself. Second. It's non of our business if ther are merried or not.
Well, look at Kim Jongkook. Turbo was a long time ago and yet he is unmarried. It is tough in Korea because Korean girls do have their expectations like Chinese girls. It is also cultural. Plus, because the country is still traditional like many Asian countries, living with a partner is frowned upon.
