I believe it has taken Coach Pittman some time to adjust to the Transfer Portal and NIL!!! Coaches are quitting because of this system. He is a great coach! He'll be fine and so will the HOGS!!!
We are who we are as a program. We was in contention for a Natty ONE time in the last 45 years. 2011. Arkansas is a average 7 wins a season team, who can sometimes get 8 or 9 and a rare 10 (There is a reason it's only happened 2 times in like 45 years) once a decade MAYBE. The 60's and 70's are gone. It'll never be like that again, especially with NIL, our boosters will not spend to make Arkansas the highest NIL team in football. Football recruiting compared to basketball recruiting is night and day. It's WAY easier for basketball because you only have to pay 7 or 8 players. It's easier to be the top NIL CBB team than it is for football. Ohio State is the top NIL spending team, at 20m. Double what Arkansas is by far. It's harder to pay 85 players than it is 8. That's just how it is. Tyson isn't gonna give basketball 7m for NIL and turn around and give 15m to football. So John is wrong on this. It's not about a loser mentality. It's about expecting something that has NEVER happened in our entire history, winning the SEC in football to happen regularly. That's delusional.
I've lived all over, but mostly in Texas for many years. There was a time, when I'd make frequent trips to UT in Austin. Walking and talking in a number of their various sports facilities, I was always impressed by some the photography involving the Horns and Hogs, as well as the tremendous amount of respect the majority of Texas fans have for the Razorbacks. The speaker is correct, given the facilities, NW Arkansas, and fan base, there is no reason why the UA cannot be one of the consistently better programs in the SEC. From an outside Arkie looking in.
Yal don't appreciate what sam has done here like whenever he does leave just watch what kinda coach we get a terrible one I been a hog fan for 23 years and sam has been my favorite coach I'm not saying he is perfect but I watched plenty of coaches fail here and sam won 9games and yal act like he just got lucky the sec is the toughest conference in the country bro its not always gonna be great a realistic expectation is 7 wins a yr which sam has done 2out of 3 yrs covid don't count and he is on track to do it again he has done a good job just wait til he leaves we ain't getting a top notch coach
Look man, Sam was hired to get us out of the dark days, and he’s definitely accomplished that, but it’s pretty evident he’s not a championship coach, 8-9 wins in a season is probably the maximum ceiling with Pittman
Sam Pittman if you read this I appreciate you. it’s clear you pour your heart into your team! Thank you Sam for the greatest coaching staff in the country!! WPS!
I have said all season we would go 6-6 or 7-5.😁 I still think we will. At worst I am feeling/hoping we win against LA tech and MZ. I hope we win against Ol'Miss and TX but I am not holding my breath.❤ Considering some folks laughed at me saying 7-5 I will take it!😂🐗
I think the coaches (Pittman, BP & TWill) have a good synergy going. I remember Pittman saying he would not intervene into the coordinators jobs. However, I have a friend who has noticed that BP gets frustrated with Pittman during the games. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this just BP's frustration with the timing of "time outs" or not going for it on 4th down? Is there actual conflict or is this imagined? I'm not trying to stir up controversy just wondering. I'd love to see these three stick together for a couple years - like Dabo & his coordinators did at Clemson for a couple years - because I think the three of them could really do something together. What are your thoughts?
We ought to get this game here in our back yard . We are going to need a quick start and get two touchdown on them and run thed clock running right at them
We need a stadium that seats at least 90k, and we need a coach that can pull more 4* than 3*. It’s a culture problem. We aren’t considered for top recruits because we don’t have someone that can pull these players yet. If ole miss and Missouri can get these studs why can’t we
"Come from the days we had a Matt Jones" John, we wasn't competing for an SEC title with matt Jones. You mention Ole Miss, they haven't competed for an SEC title either in football. Arkansas has been in ONE SEC Championship game since we been in the SEC, the one year Bama was off, and LSU was off. One time. Ever. Never been close other than that, besides 2011, where we again was outclassed by Bama and LSU.
Paul Finebaum clone. You’ve spent 2/3 of your time saying UA should accept a 7-8 win identity, then try to argue they can compete for an SEC title. Get consistent, please. Glass half empty. Not root for the man? You wet your pants over the Calipari and Patrino hires.
