I feel sound. Sometimes when it's too loud or aggressive, it really freaking hurts. Other times, it's really useful. EG, I'm currently training to be a violin maker. I was able to find imperfections in the wood through tapping on it and feeling the vibrations. I could tell where the hollow sections were so I drew on them using pencil and cut around them to get it perfectly flat before joining the two pieces together. I was the first in my class to finish that lesson. Sensory issues can be useful... Sometimes. Other times, like today, I had to perform on stage with my school chamber band and oh my goodness. We were performing at the town festival in the square and all I could feel was overwhelmed. The loud speakers, the people yelling about their products, the kids screaming, the parents yelling at their kids, people packed like sardines, it was way too much. I had a meltdown and I wasn't even on stage yet. I got to the green room with the rest of the chamber band, calmed down, had a quick practice and went onstage. It was a mediocre performance, not good, not bad, but I'm just glad I got through it. Sensory issues. A blessing and a curse in my line of work. For me, it does come with perfect pitch tho, so that's a bonus. Always look on the bright side of life, I guess...

I feel sound, too. Is the violin as magnificent to play as I imagine it?

I also feel sound and am a singer/songwriter but I had to stop playing gigs because/c people are too loud and I couldn’t hear myself sing, play guitar, etc, and I would have to drink to cope and I didn’t want to have to drink anymore, etc.

Tapping on a piece of wood to know where to carve is right up there with the techniques of the masters. You have my awe.

One day I plopped myself on the couch to watch a movie I was excited about. My mom laughed and (in a good-natured way) asked “Gee, ya feeling excited?” I didn’t get it until she pointed it out. I DIDN’T REALIZE I WAS HOLDING MY FOOT LIKE I WOULD WHEN I WAS TINY 😂😂😂

Would it be awkward if I said that's actually adorable?❤ When I was a kid, and I'd sleep over at my grandma's house, every time I'd grab on her foot and hold it until I fell asleep, she'd have a mattress bright or to the living room for my sister and I to sleep on, and she'd sit in the couch, and after my grandpa would rub my head as a good night, I would grab her foot, she was the only person I ever did that with, though once I got older I stopped doing it. I think for me it was feeling the security of her there with me. She was absolutely my safe person, even though it was more of a mother/daughter relationship with a grandma/granddaughter dynamic. Idk if that makes sense😅

not diagnosed with anything, spectrum and adhd run in the family tho. and people assigned female at birth (afab) weren't thought to be able to have adhd when I was a kid, both my brothers were diagnosed but I had good grades so all the similarities in our behavior was completely ignored by doctors and teachers at the time... even tho there had been parent/teacher conferences about how I need to focus more on the lesson we were doing and not other work... Anyway, lol, diagnosis or not i have sensory issues. Mostly with touch and sound. sometimes sound is too loud like some turned the volume up on the world and sometimes my own breathing hurts my ears. Grocery store/florescent lights are often way too loud. Sometimes I can hear/feel the electricity in the walls, like unless I'm super stressed I don't notice it until the power goes out and then I'm so unbalanced by it suddenly not being there There is a correct way for seams to lay on toes and if no possible in those socks, then they must be inside out (if I bother putting on socks at all...), shopping is the roulette game of I will live in this forever and OMG cut my fingers off, Oh Lord! ew ew ew! and dishes. Just dishes. even with a dishwasher... they are a lot. and the gloves aren't always enough I just. no. tl;dr: Got distracted describing sensory stuff, meant to only mention that I realized I was stimming while watching the video. k thx bai
