The most beautiful thing is holiness. Holiness is the convergence of truth and good in their highest form as well. It's the factual confirmation of catholic dogmas concerning a holy life (=closer do God, so, confirming the dogmas about God as well), the highest truths. Holiness is the highest good someone reach, the closer to God the holier the person is. The western tradition sobreposes goodness and beauty, the greeks are more careful: what our senses perceive as beauty not always helps us to get closer to God. The whole debate conserning classical pagan and christian art was about that, centuries before was even possible to consider some ugly work as valuable art.

the beautiful is certainly one of the things that has always pulled me to Catholicism. ever since my days in a cult.

Someone can get sick and have their worldly beauty taken away but they are still beautiful to God

@@persianfeint5177 of course. he sees more than we do. but our appreciation for beauty is also a reflection of him. this is why we have what psychologists call "the Halo affect" this means basically that if we see someone as being morally good, the more we affirm that belief the more beautiful we see them as being, while those we see as morally impure we begin to notice all of their flaws more and more. of course, we are imperfect, so this can also work the wrong way around, were many people see those who are physically beautiful as being morally pure regardless of their actions. it is important to be introspective, and examine yourself against the Lord's own standards when thinking of how we treat each other.
