Welcome to "Talking Bollocks" - the podcast where we cut through the BS of the sales world. I'm Benjamin, the UK's most hated sales trainer, and in each episode, I chat with everyday salespeople about their successes and failures.
We don't do gurus or experts trying to sell you something - just real, honest conversations with those in the trenches. Because let's face it, failure is where the real learning happens. And we're not afraid to talk about it.
Our special guest this week is Carina Cunha. So tune in and join us as we get real about the ups and downs of the sales profession. And hey, if we're talking bollocks, at least we're talking.

Carina is certainly a fine person and I have no doubt she's as sharp as a tack. What I find interesting though, is that she references evolution and evolutionary psychology and says that the drive to procreate is actually a part of our DNA (I don't believe in evolutionary psychology, but that's what she stated) and so she admittedly uses her looks to get more engagement on her posts because she's aware of this as a driver of interest and engagement and then she complains when males are reacting to her posts based on her appearance. That is a major contradiction, in my view.

not necessarily. there are copy tactics that I am kinda disappointed work ("Doctors hate him!")... but if they do, why not use them?

@@isnberg7029 he didn’t say you can’t use them he said don’t use them and then complain when they work as intended.

Her: “people judge me for my looks not my abilities” Also her: “It’s rare to have beauty and a high level of cognitive ability”

Saying she is pretty as though it is an objective fact when it is opinion based (hers). I think that’s the crucks of why people have a problem with her point of view. That is not an attractive trait in anyones character and to turn any negative reaction round on the casual observer is a further demonstration of what appears to be some pretty deep routed narcissism. I think that she handles her self well, is articulate and coming on this pod cast to discuss it is commendable but I am not sure if it shows conviction or a complete lack of self awareness.

With all due respect, it´s obvious that you´ve never experienced what she describes.

Great video thanks for sharing. I think as a society we are hard wired to think certain ways. For one I was watching a video of a guy in West Virginia his accent was so thick I thought I’m not watching it. Then his content was a amazing. I give everyone at least a minute. I try not to judge on thumbnails but here I am somehow watching your video. LOL. I think it’s called brilliant marketing. Good job. Enjoyed the video. Thanks for everything you do on this channel of yours. One of my favourites. Cheers from Canada.

If you are exposing yourself and exploit your beauty, to get the attention of thousands of people then you can play all surprised when 1 or 2 idiots try to hit on you. Statistically, it comes with it.

Thanks for the epizode. I think Carina is an interesting person with a story, passion and a mission. I don't see anything wrong with her using her looks to attract audience to whatever she's broadcasting. She also seems be well aware that she will get interaction from people more drawn to whatever is emphasized, which is the looks, the whatever the content is. I haven't yet seen her content - I will, as it's a topic I have been curious about in general and I'm also now intrigued. So she's achieved her mission. I agree 100% about ppl judging because of their own insecurities. Everyone's using whatever they have and whatever they feel comfortable with to achieve their goals. And yes you might sometimes get a little bit of advantage if you're good looking, but you also might get it if you like have good sense of humour... It's just how life is. If everyone's focused on their own strengths rather that what others have got in their pot, there would be less jealousy and everyone would be happier 😃

This was not worth giving the time to Benjamin, are you gonna bring on a short person to tell you how hard their life is on the next episode? At the very least, you should get somebody who is ugly to come on, and tell you how hard their life is to find a mate and have a family, you know, the important things …

Fairly deluded about the looks, incredibly self obsessed.
