It's very interesting to hear more about bi people that have different romantic and sexual attractions, not a lot of people talk about it.

I‘m bi and attracted to both genders in different ways. I have qualities in looks for women and others for men and they differentiate. But character-wise I like the same things in both. So if I fall for somebody it‘s either just sexual or both sexual and love, but I would disagree that I have a preference gender-wise and the ability to love a certain gender more, or be more sexual with the other gender. Hope you can understand, what I‘m trying to bring across.

I thought I was weird but it's just a bisexual thing to be romantically attracted to one gender ( men) and sexually attracted to the other ( women). So confusing. I don't just want a sexual relationship so I go after men but I only really get turned on by emotional closeness. Whereas with women I just feel turned on physically by them but no emotional attachment w h atsoever.

Really interesting video... I was wondering, I have never been in a love relationship but I feel attraction for both males and females and I'm pretty sure about it, is there any chance that I found out I'm bi at the age of 14/15? or I'm just a confused teenager and this is a phase everyone have at my age?

Dear Alex, I've two things to say about this video: Number 1, my dopamine is rising because your smile is so attractive to me. ;-) Number 2. This has been an epiphany, it all makes sense now. I'm 44 years old and you just managed to fill all the loop holes. I couldn't understand why there was so much time before I realised I was bisexual, when I thought , I was heterosexual after all, after I've experimented with boys as a teen. I know fully understand the process I've gone through, and you sir, made it clear for me. I can't thank you enough.

Alex, you know what's crazy... everything you said is everything I have known to be instinctively true from the moment I realized I was bisexual in 7th grade PRE-SEX experience. There is a qualitative difference. I think that I am a polyamorous bisexual...well not think... I am... I think my needs gaps can only be filled by having a male and female partners.... I've done test after test on myself with others LOL. But I will grab your book on Kindle to support. Even more so, I am happy you exist and hope to connect with you soon.

Hi I was wondering if you guys could possibly help me... I’m a guy and I’m confused- for the first 16 years of my life I thought I was straight even when I started watching gay porn at the age of 11 I still thought I was straight because I only had crushes on girls, I would occasionally watch straight and lesbian porn but mostly gay. I never thought anything of it really until around may of last year when people started jokingly calling me gay, this made me watch only straight porn and it was fine until a few months ago when I realized I wasnt turned on to straight porn as I was to gay porn... this made me stressed and confused and I think I developed HOCD from it... now I view myself as bisexual heteromantic but i don’t know if I’m actually this or if I’m just a closeted gay... whenever I think of the future I always see myself with a girl and having three kids. My biggest fear is that I’m going to mary a woman and find out like 7 years later or something that I’m gay; or that I’m not able to have sex with a woman, this has been stressing me out a lot and (sadly) has put suicide into my mind (I don’t think I would ever intentionally hurt myself but I don’t know) I’m really confused can someone please help me

Mason, I have been where you are. I think a lot of us have. I didn't figure out my sexuality until I was 17 and it took more than a decade after that for me to fully accept it about myself and to stop thinking that I could still end up gay. Unfortunately, however, there is no rushing the process of figuring this stuff out. But, that's okay. And to tell you the truth, the physical parts of figuring it out can be really fun. ;-) Here is the only important thing that you need to know. Whatever you decide you are, there will be a community of people who will accept you and love you for exactly who you are. If you're gay, you will be able to find other gay guys who are in the exact situation you are. If you're bi, you will be able to surround yourself with the coolest bunch of bi folks that you could ever imagine. So, no matter what you decide on, you don't have to be alone. You can choose to hide who you are make yourself feel alone, but you don't have to. And that might be hard to imagine now. But something tells me that even if you told your current friends (in the right setting), even though they teased you for it, they could end up defending you to others. I know it's hard to imagine all of this right now. But life can be a lot different than the way it appears to you at 16. Keep in mind that I'm not suggesting that you recklessly come out. That would be a mistake. But if you watch my video about how teens can come out, and then give yourself time to process it and figure out who you are, you might have a happier life than you could ever imagine. I hope this helps! :-)

BisexualRealTalk hey thank you sooo much for responding, I just want to say from this point to when my first comment was posted I have changed a lot, right now I’m pretty sure I’m bi and I’m not thinking about it as much, porn wise I’m really watching a mix of straight bisexual gay and lesbian porn and am a lot more turned on by women sexually than I was before (now I can get off to just looking at a naked woman). Romantically I’m still only intrested in girls in terms of marriage and dating and can’t imagine myself marrying a guy at all, i here a lot of people say that’s because you have been raised to think a guy and guy relationship is wrong, and if you just try going on a date with a guy you will probably change, but honestly I’m not even interest in trying to go on a date with a guy I just feel it’s not for me. I still haven’t had an official girl friend but I had a huge huge crush on a girl who I couldn’t stop thinking about, I think I may have been in love with her, I would legit dream about marrying her and stuff, but she graduated. But it’s kinda crazy because I liked her as a friend (sophomore year) when I only mainly watched gay porn and when I started watching straight porn more it was like I really started having a crush on her. I think when I started watching straight porn more my mind went from the gay side of bisexuality to more of the middle, but Idk. And I’m not thinking about suicide any more (man I feels weird to type and say that in my head) and I truly hate that I was thinking about it, I think it was a result of the HOCD witch I’m starting to think less about. I also heard about being straight with a gay porn fetish, is that possible? If it is that might be me, but honestly I like thinking of myself as bisexual, and when I call myself straight I feel like I’m lying and when I call myself gay i feel like it’s just not right and it’s not me. So if you have any more advice for me I’d greatly appreciate it!

@@DrewMerri I am a bi woman, and I felt exactly the same way! It is so similar it is scary! I started off being more physically attracted to women, and mostly crushing on men. I primarily watched lesbian porn, straight porn was eh and I didn't watch any gay porn. Now I watch all 3 haha I was also worried I was lesbian, and not bi. My attraction went up and down like waves, and it made me very uncomfortable. Now that I got older, my attraction towards both stabilized alot more! It is for the most part pretty even, and I just came out as bisexual to my friends at the age of 24. I have had 1 husband and 1 boyfriend and I am not sure about a female relationship. Maybe mostly because I am happy with my current boyfriend. Again, your story and the way you felt is scary similar to me... Good luck in your life, and no matter what you feel be proud of who you are!

I get crazy dopamine affects when I’m with my boyfriend. I feel such a strong emotional connection with him it’s crazy. He’s the sweetest. I tried breaking up with him today because of the issues I’m having and he’s feeling judged by me but I’m feeling as though he’s in denial about a lot of things and this is something that we both struggle with.

I just keep watching because I didn't really care but then it auto played on this video with this girl and I felt attracted. I've never been in a romantic situation or sexual so I've never had situations where I felt attraction. I've felt attracted to a male before but now with this random female. I'm really confused and I don't much about sexuality. I watch your stages of bi and if your bi quiz. I think I'm bi but I don't know can anybody give advice please?
@BisexualRealTalkNow
@BisexualRealTalkNow 6 лет назад
Just give yourself time and see if the feeling pops up again. If you've only had the feeling once in your life and it never comes up again, it won't have any effect on your life at all and hence there is no need to give it a second thought. A single random attraction can be explained by many things outside of you being bisexual. But, if you experience a pattern of being attracted to multiple genders, or if you have an intense feeling for a girl, then give it more thought.

@thaaahaaa
@thaaahaaa 6 лет назад
I think there is some interesting ideas here but here are the thoughts I had : -How does it work for aromantic/bisexual, biromantic/asexual people or anyone in those spectrums ? You just don't give oxytocin/dopamine points ? Or you just give different types of points ? -Where does the /3 and /25 scales come from ? From a particular study or is it your own theory ? -For the tendency that bi people have to switch genders after a long term relationship, is it that different from "monosexual" people ? I mean if you had a long term relationship with someone it's not uncommon to seek other characteristics in the next partner, it's just that for bi people it can translate to "switching" the gender of the next partner which like you said is more visible. Enjoy your vacations !

@Chaosdude7111
@Chaosdude7111 6 лет назад
I'm biromantic (panromantic really) asexual, and I think it's more complicated than that. I can be attracted to a person on sight, but rather than motivating me to want to have sexual contact with someone, it motivates me to seek out activities that will elicit more oxytocin points, as Alex calls them.
@kaemmerleintod

And funnily enough a lot of people attribute a very high amount of points (certainly more then 3) to the existence or nonexistence of a particular type of genitals. Which is sad.

It totally depends on the person. Try to study about Kinsey scale. It helps understanding that your attraction to the same/opposite gender varies from others. This video breaks down the type of attraction (physical/material & emotional). For bisexuals it isn't as simple as monosexuals because of the dopamine part. I relate to this for I'm physically more attracted to the same gender but emotionally feel more comfortable with the opposite gender. When I'm in a relationship with a guy (my opposite gender), my sexual drive towards women increases. I must admit I have a hard time being in a long-term relationship. I always thought because I fear commitment but this shed a new light...
