Lmao, this isn’t to you directly but everyone commenting. If you watch the video I did not mean he literally cannot, just that he needs to be careful and can’t just do one. I still think the video is an interesting watch and covers some of what he may have been thinking. P.S. I may have reason to believe he watched this video.
I Think he did a great face reveal, @@MattMiranda people doesn't seem to care about his face, just his music, its true it was symbolic, but i think he will still be grow as rapidly. Truly an evolution of character, he didn't even click baited it!
I never thought about that. Having his mask is the whole reason why he’s popular cause it’s relatable for people who might have depression. It also makes him look cooler.
The mask plays a big part in his branding, etc. I seriously wonder what would happen if he did face reveal publicly. But I don't think anyone should try to force uke to do a face reveal or dig into private information just to find his face...he should only reveal his face if he feels like he wants to. Amazing video btw!
W Elite. For your information guys, BoyWithUke feels really uncomfortable showing his face to public. He wants his face to be unknown and if he wants that, we will have to keep it that way.
I love this vid but boywithuke said in a interview he won’t do a face reveal because of what happened to dream but he also said the mask mostly made him famous so he said if he takes it off he will get scared of what people say about him and his brand of music
This is the same case with dream - he was so known for being a faceless content creator getting millions of views per video with so many fans. Then when he finally did his face reveal his content started going downhill since he was like I said, so known for being faceless. After someone does a face reveal, they are known as any other content creator/artist.
I disagree, he could be doing the same thing as marshmallow, he face revealed and I think he’s doing fine. Yes he’s not as famous as he used to but that’s more of because he hasn’t been able to create any hit song not his face reveal, he’s still known has marshmallows the face. Boywithuke has been showing his face more and more now, showing his hair and smile, I think he will eventually show his face but it’s probably better to do that just not in dreams way. He could just show it in a more secretive way to his fans only. Edit, When I made this comment, I haven’t watched the video, so turns out what I said is basically the same thing as what he said
He will eventually. In one of his streams he said when he’s a little older like 30 and he still has this mask on, it would be a little weird. So he will one day. Just not soon.
I think jadens way of doing it is the best route to take, more dedicated fans can find it out as a sort of reward and it doesn’t have to become his thing and he still keeps the mask identity with his face in things every now and again
I have grown to love masked/hidden faced creators. I used to think it was dumb, and useless. Now I understand the reason behind it. And I love it. The mystery is hype and on-top of mystery, in BWU's case, great music and funny jokes makes it all the better.
This could be really fun. He can get a bunch of random people that look like him and pretend they are him. He doesn't even have to show his face and he could totally fool us all. Ifk just a fun idea
@@MattMiranda I really saw who he was, I know where he went after he moved to Boston from Korea, and he's actually pretty decent, I just was shocked because I didn't know what to expect. He's actually Chinese
I'm going to assume you are very young or mad so allow me to explain. 1.) This video is not about every individual fan, some fans will actually listen either way and that does not discredit anything mentioned. 2.) His mask is a HUGE part of the marketing for EVERY project he releases. This mask has undoubtedly helped him stick out and increased his engagement on social media. 3.) I am sure he is smart and good with social media, but he also obviously realizes this mask is advantageous because it is the only mask he stuck with. 4.) If he abandoned the mask, his social media would get less engagement and attention, meaning his music would. In some cases, this would lead to "fans" not realizing he dropped music and not listening. 5.) While I am sure BoyWithUke is glad @Splotchy is going to stay by his side through thick and thin, he might also consider his thousands/millions of other fans as well, as he should. Don't read this in a disrespectful way, I am just trying to explain that even some people who believe they do not care about the mask would stop listening to his music if it effected his ability to market himself and that from a business side fans who will listen no matter what are not people he needs to worry about.
wtf is wrong with people it's like somebody ex: dream finally builds up the courage to show their face to the world and then just get bullied by millions of people.
i think that boywithuke should drop a song talking about showing his face. and he can make a music video for it, where at the end, he shows his face for a couple of seconds
I enjoyed the early days of youtube where we felt honored for them to even share their face with us cause it was not common, and when it happed people celebrated and respected it. Those days are gone.
I think that is insanity, if anything is shows how to understand and operate within a world where that variable in unavoidable. Rather than shy away from it look at what the best way is to get what you want and manage the variable to a point that you're comfortable with. Social Judgement is not really the issue at hand that I am concerned with either necessarily, but ruining his career. When looking at what others did and the reaction they receive you can predict what reaction he may have doing certain types of reveals.
Sm11ty also did it another way, with just a video of all the moments you could’ve seen him. He was in so many content creators pictures but nobody ever pointed him out. He doesn’t show his face still. Yet it is out there.
Ranboo is also a great example He not only does it for his mental health but it has become more and more apart of his brand Someone made a great video on his project "Generation Loss" Basically saying how it was a metaphor for dehumanizing creators 😅
To be honest, I don't know why but his mask makes me like his music more. I just think it stands out from all the other musicians and he has a very unique style. Great vid btw!
what i personally think should happen if he does do a face reveal is just keep the mask but only take it off every so often, like you pointed out its a huge part of his branding and his vibe as an artist. Yes, he does tease his face a lot and i see his fans being divided but understanding on this as a lot of fans want him to do a reveal but a lot understand that its not that easy and he should take his time. He can also use the masked version of himself and unmasked to represent two different people , in a livestrean of his he said there is music that he's made that he himself didn't really like but put it out anyways because of the label or other reasons, already kinda indicating that thers a difference between himself and boywithuke, maybe he can use the mask as a way to visually separate the two using it as a way to say that this is very personal and this is for the brand.
@mattmiranda dream in theory was the over weight guy (this is a just a theory don't kill me internet) name Clayton Huff, dreams real name is clay and they do look alike, so if he indeed was that guy then he may have lost weight to please the people that were fat shaming only to be bashed for not being attractive enough
Boywithuke did actually do a face reveal closer to the beginning of his career talking about his opinions on Asian hate. Not many people have it but I’m lucky enough to have it. Don’t ask for it because I won’t give you it but it’s still pretty awesome to know how he looks
I think he should do whatever he wants. I know he’s a smart guy, so he won’t destroy his brand. But there are also so many people that listen because his songs are relatable, he’s down to earth, and he makes quality content.
The mask is a big part of his branding and I think he shouldn’t but if he does I think the soft drop is the best or the vulnerable drop cuz I wolf like to know more about him
I do not know why he doesnt do any interviews and do think this is a mistake, I would like to interview him but it does not seem like I will get the chance, oh well
This is the 3rd time I was an early fan to a big creator but this time I was one of his first followers and now I'm mad that I couldn't gatekeep him from everyone on earth
My all time favorite face reveal and im forgetting who but this youtuber just did it. Didnt say shit just did added the face to a video. They legit didnt even talk about it lol
That's sometimes the best way to do it. I would guess that person is probably a bit more uncomfortable showing their face so didnt want to draw attention to it
Know it can also be a thing that they don't want to show their face they might think people will make fun of them cuz they might think they're ugly but they're not
It’s awesome to see some of you guys come back and I do appreciate it. Seems like he followed my advice whether it was intentional or not. Glad he did it how he did, seems like a smart move.
Hey Boywithuke, if you're watching this. Just know that you don't need to feel forced to do what you don't want to do, just enjoy like how we enjoy your songs
lots of people already know what he looks like and hsi face is already all over youtube. it wouldn't be a really big deal if he was to do a face reveal.
Back in 2021 he did do a face reveal while he was still a small creator as he was addressing Asian hate but it seems to be that video has been taken down
One interesting face reveal was from guntuber Administrative results. Admin had to hide his identity as he was a cop in California, so he would most likely lose his job if not for that. He ended up making a video where him without the mask assasins the,, Talking balaclava" as his masked self was called.
The teasing it by showing a lot of people, he kind of did that already He said his face is somewhere in the understand music video and also he has another reason why he doesnt show his face he got bullied for his voice and so he thought it'd be weird if the people that bullied him know that hes making those songs and he thinks the fans should concentrate on the music, not his face but nice video!👍
I heard he did that with the video, I just think he will continue to do similar stuff. I like the idea of bringing everyone together but whatever he wants to do I am cool with.
I personally wouldn't want him to do a face reveal because of how much of a part it plays in his branding, but I'm just an idiot on the internet and it's completely up to him
As someone who knows ukey personally, he got bullied for his looks and voice. That's why he wears a mask. His music wasn't really supposed to go where he is right now.
@@MattMiranda Regardless, he already has done a face reveal on his yt shorts. I dont think it was unofficial at all, he just wants to wear a mask since that is the character he's made.
Only problem with a face reveal like how to basics is boy with a uke would have to have a bunch is music artist with tan skin as we can see his hands and neck in several cases and he not white (or atleast not completely white)
Technoblade too. like Jaden, he never actually did or if I rephrase it, he couldn't do an actual face reveal before his passing. even if he showed his face in his playbutton video, his famous steering wheal video and his subscriber playbutton video but lots of people that didn't watch those videos till the end or didn't watch any of those videos never saw his face. and never knew about it until his passing. Technoblade never dies ❤
He was interesting. Although I never really watched his content the guy did really go beyond Minecraft and preparing videos for the fans when you know you're time is limited is wild. He showed that his love for making video was genuine and that he cared for his fans when he didnt have to care about anything. A legend.
BWU is the only artist that I'm an actual fan of, but tbh I don't really care if he shows his face, I think he should keep the mask on but if he is confortable showing it then it's completely fine, but as you said, even if he shows it, he should keep the mask in the long run Edit: He just face revealed lol
I remember watching a face reveal of BoyWithUke, he might of deleted it or it might of been fake but I definitely saw one! I don’t think it does ruin his music that much though.
@@MattMiranda I have a few ideas for example right before the camera pans to the kid coming out of the closet full of clothing you can see a man doing out from one of the corners but that’s only 1 of my guesses but that’s my best one
Idk if anyone here listens to Hollywood undead, but he could always do what they used to do, they wore their masks for any performances, but showed their faces in most other situations, because the mask added to their live themes
I don't think Boywithuke should do a face reveal at all... He has already gotten kinda comfortable with representing his body more (especially defined torso) and people are already creaming themselves over how he has abs and is in a fit shape. I feel he took the right path with hiding his face and is going down the wrong path slowly revealing it. He will definitely be the type that gets complimented/hated for how he looks (like most people who instantly blow up off tiktok), so it is definitely best to just allow the music to be what it is. Music, not brand his face to it.
He already did a face reveal, somewhere around fever dreams drop, not much people know…; not much people got it because it was only up for a few hours… on his insta. Me as a lucky person know it, Al though nobody is 100% sure it’s uke
