It is not just rap, it is everything that is being watered down and over saturated. In the age of social media, we are constantly being over stimulated and over fed information and entertainment. Also due to everyone wanting to be social media famous, being a celebrity in it of itself has died out. Before, we used to be able to anticipate an artists album, an artist releasing a video because we did not have easy access to it. Now we have over access to everything in the palm of our hands quite literally. So this does not allow people to appreciate anything. Also rap has not been rap for a long time. I say it has been died for a long while now. What "rap" today is actually just pop now. Actual rap is back to being underground. Mainstream rap is absolutely dead and gone today. It is all about quantity not quality and that is with every thing, not just rap and not just music. Entertainment as we know it is all about tik tok and memeworthy buzzwords to repeat like some npc bots. It's sad what the world has turned into. The moment we gave every single human on this planet access to become "famous", that is the exact moment being a celebrity died and if that is the case, there will be no such thing as a "superstar". That word itself has lost all meaning. I also think people like Peep, Juice and XXX were supposed to carry the new wave for the new generation but they all died, leaving the previous era of Cole, Drake and Kendrick to pick up the torch once again.
It was a joke. I don’t think you’ll actually engage with this but I do think what I said in this video is accurate but maybe the packaging threw you and other people off. I could definitely communicate it better but all I was getting at is that Drake uses these wild tactics and that teaming up with Cole could’ve been yet another and that him doing all these antics could help him with disses. Do you disagree with that? Maybe I just communicated it poorly.
@ricky6539 hasn’t drake outsold any rapper ever. Also if you’re looking at right now em is hardly relevant at all. He had that 1 song but the theme of this video is that this generation of rappers is fading. Em’s success is what allowed Drake to be the next guy, but em is not that guy rn.
@@ricky6539 Okay I hear you. Drake has the highest streaming numbers but Em has the albums sales. Tough to compare because each were in a time that helped them with their categories but in terms of an all time top whatever there is definitely an argument for him and them. Honestly, I like the argument of who is on top and I have no problem with you having Em there, but I do hope you have appreciation for them all. Don't have to put these guys down to have Em up.
I wouldn’t say raps dead but the mainstream trap stuff definitely it is, and we’re in a transitionary phase like 2007-2008, and I think something weird but extremely cool is gonna happen where lyrical rap combines with that yeat/ken Carson opium sound with other styles potentially mixed in.
My editor is foreign and when he looked up one’s name the other showed up because he quoted them. He doesn’t know nas or J Cole or any American artists
@kittiedawson4501 I think mistakes will happen regardless of the people you make content about and if people cannot understand that then they can choose to do what they may. I’ve been making videos about rappers for like 5 years and not really overly concerned with views at this point. Ideally I should’ve watched over it and looked closer into it, my b.
I ll tell you another thing. No one feels pression as they all do tik tok rap jn order to stay on trends. This thing, even if it trends , people know it sucks and its wrong. No talk for real problems, just flex, sily sounds etc. Last rappers that talked about something different from that are x, juice, trippie redd and mgk. But they re either dead or not having the clout anymore.
Good to see someone objective in this beef you should be proud of yourself. It's so annoying how there are just glazers and stans everywhere on both sides making claims against the other that is insanely contradictive you'd be surprised how they themselves don't see it. Good job man, and your channel is underrated a video this good with this amount of views is actually criminal lol.
It would be cool for either side to prove their claims. With the disses that dropped I’ve been seeing things that imply Drake had a fake mole and Kendrick has been talking about all false stuff. That would be brutal.
I am starting to think Drake had a fake informant leak that he had a daughter to Kendrick. How would Kendrick make an entire diss with it's entire concept being about that THEN Drake immediately call his bluff on IG. Drake either didnt know he had a daughter or Kendrick got played.
I like this. Obviously numbers are not all that matters, but it’s silly to say they don’t ever. All I am saying is I think Drake just wants to lower Kendrick in most people’s opinions and that even if he can’t pass Kendrick, he could probably help Cole do it. This is why Kendrick fans started to buy in on numbers when euphoria was doing well. I don’t know if drake will win the disses, but I think he can push more and more people to Cole or his own side, which I think is the goal.
@@MattMiranda You only mentioned the difference in nominations not wins Nobody cares about Grammy nominations, even the artists themselves don't care. Look at Travis Scott. Travis has spoken openly about his desire to win a Grammy. He doesn't have one and it clearly bothers him. there's a big difference between a Grammy win and a Grammy nomination. That's my point.
I’m not going to lie, this entire time whoever has dropped last has been winning. Both of them have said a lot of stuff without receipts and once we get receipts it could go either way.
@@MattMiranda Its not about "receipts". Its about proving your superiority with lyrics and wordplay. From a lyrical perspective Euphoria is better than push ups. Your'e talking about everything like it's a gossip battle.
Listen to the new disses that dropped and come back. Both are saying things about each other, if the truth doesn’t matter than just listen to regular music. It’s not just about rapping skillfully but doing that within the back and forth.
I guess we just found out some of it. Whole point is each side has said a bunch of stuff at this point, without proof idc. Even with the disses we just got idk who won until I know the truth.
Dude. U making this about the numbers? No one cares. That’s not what u do in battle. Pusha T still destroyed drake brutally too. None of that silly shit matters to someone picking up a mic to do battle yo
I feel like I addressed this and it’s especially ironic when Kendrick fans are talking about euphorias numbers as we speak. I think numbers shouldn’t be the only factor. With the diss tracks so far whoever dropped most recently has been the winner, both have said a lot without really saying anything, no receipts. Once we get receipts I think it’ll start drifting one way or the other. Kendrick should win, but I don’t think it’s that clear.
@@Seguis not for songs they make battling someone. They have the rest of thier career for the money stuff At the core of rhyming is the battle. The only thing that matters is who put on the better performance while shitting on your opponent.
@@MattMiranda numbers really aren’t a factor at all tho. The only people concerned with stuff like that are acting as if someone’s success means one is better at rapping. Pusha T isn’t in the same league as drake as far as numbers or money. But he clearly destroyed him to where drake wont even speak his name ever again lol all it is. Is a verbal boxing match. Everything else is just bullshit people on the internet are throwing in so they can feel like they’re favorite rapper really is the bestest of ever
No, not really a drake fan either. I am just saying that Drake seems to be more focused on winning the long term battle and Kendrick doesn’t seem concerned with anything but winning the disses.
Not really a Drake stan, I listen to more Cole than either of the other two but Drake just seems to constantly be looking for how to come out on top publicly while Kendrick is more focused on the music. I’m not saying drake will win, just that he could tear Kendrick down enough that people put Cole above.
I think numbers matter to a lot of people. Drake has more controversy around him but I think he is more focused on winning public perception than anything, and him focusing on doing things behind the scenes as well makes me think he could actually win despite whether or not I think he should.
I’m not biased for drake or Kendrick but some of you guys need to learn that this isn’t a one side land slide either way. I’m not even saying that Drake is going to win this diss, just after he is positioning himself to still have a way of winning. Also, was going to make the same video from Kendrick’s side but idk if it’s possible to talk about either without Stan’s freaking out. Getting too caught up on a title.
I think each are trying to win the public perception in different ways, Kendrick definitely tried more to represent the culture while drake is more concerned with success
I mean yeah, but this current dissing isn’t really about that. I know the whole history of it and how Drake had an interview that they couldn’t release because he went off on Kendrick.
I have been a k. fan a decade now he has been asking drake to step into the ring from 2013- 2014 hence kendrick didn't go on the record. Why make music with you if we not on speaking terms. They both have been doing subliminal disses to each for years now. Go listen to control verse then bet cypher even the heart (part IV from 2017) is about drake. Drake even said k. got a diss ready for him and waiting 4 years ago. This beef didnt just start bro.
@@medinaw94 I don’t think the point is him winning the diss, this says he is trying to use himself to boost Cole up and knock Kendrick down a peg. They literally said in the video that no one can change Kendrick’s fans minds on drake, but Cole?
