I swear, none of yall have ever ridden a bus. The driver tells you to be quiet, you wonder why? Because they're listening. edit gEES i didnt want to anger you people!
Bluem Gacha and Gaming did she ever move you to the front seats? In 4th grade my bus driver said I was being loud so I was moved to the front seat and then this patrol told me and I had to sit in the front seats for weeks
I never followed a bus drivers rules. Their job was to drive me to and from school, not be my parent. They're just upset cuz they could have been anywhere in life but there they are driving buses.
The overhead flashing red lights on school buses work off of a button that the door lever rests against. When the lever is released (to open the door) the lights are engaged and flash. This may vary from state to state but in most I’m certain it is required to have the lights going at any stop the bus makes
My pop was a school bus driver and a fleet manager, you never appreciate just how much work goes into driving and maintaining a school bus with all that ware and tare.
7:50 I was once so late with a schoolbus that I and everyone else in it missed the first lessons, break and even lessons after that and arrived at lunchtime 😂
@KoreoBace , didn't your teacher shout at u ??.. If we r late , they will write a diary remark, and if we got more than 5 remarks, we will get warning letter and if we get more than 3 warning letter , we will get suspension. Even if we get into the bus early and the bus driver drives slowly and reach the school ,there will be no complaints on driver, only us ( cruel). They will not kind of take care of us because we r private bus. School bus cause the double money of private bus . And soooo sorry for explaining everything. T_T.
@@zzangdv Getting suspended for being late makes zero sense. If they miss a little bit of school accidentally then they will be forced to miss multiple days of school?
My old buss driver was the best, he was my first and last bust driver for school. After second grade I began homeschooling I miss my bus driver he did so much for the school and was never late even in the worst of winter storms.
Here in Illinois, school buses aren’t required to have seatbelts but a bus company that has small buses called Septran are required to have seatbelts on every bus even though they do take up a lot of time when trying to evacuate a school bus
So what happened to traffic lights going red if a train is coming?why is the onus on the bus driver to check?and why is it only bus drivers, why not cars? I dont get it
Yeah, for him to get a life. Legit, EVERY one of his video is fake. Don't believe me? Just tell me about any bright side video and I'll explain on how it's fake!
We lived so many different places growing up and every place was picked with being able to walk to school in mind. Looking back, such a great idea exspecially because when school was out and on weekends we could use the school playground.
The reason was because a school bus in Congers, NY a school bus driver heard a train horn, and started driving faster towards the railroad crossing, to beat a Penn Central fast freight. The bus lost. This incident led to the law of buses stopping at crossings.
School buses are usually governed to 65-70mph, on newer buses this is usually achieved by limiting the transmission, if you buy a bus you can disable this
Prior to school buses there were many one room schools. School buses could pick up children from far away, allowing the schools to consolidate their students into larger buildings.
In the UK we have loud sirens at crossings with indicator lights The top 2 red mean "train passing" All mean "train passed" Orange mean "train is approaching"
Back in the 1950's and '60's I walked to elementary school (K-6). We lived at one end of a block, and the school was at the other end of the block. For high school (7-12) my father (our high school principal) drove me to school, and I took the bus home.
As a commercial driver, both Haz Mat trucker and bus driver. I agree we stop look and listen, as our flashers are on. But opening doors or windows are optional.
When I went to school in 1940' 50's only country kids rode the school bus. If you lived within the city limits , you walked to school. Rain or shine, snow or ice, didn't matter. We did NOT have "snow days", either. If the school buses weren't able to pick up the country kids, then when they did, the kids had to make up any lessons missed. I remember only one day that classes were cancelled. i was a sophomore in h s. A very strong straight line winds blew out the windows on the south side of the school. The next day we went to school with boarded up windows. It was dark in the spanish class I had then. We never thought it was cruel to have to walk to school in INCHES of snow. Most if not all thought it was a privilege to go to school.
It makes it more dangerous in my opinion because they must come to a complete stop and the start again. They could get stuck on the tracks at that point. Without stopping it may have the proper momentum to cross the tracks. Especially in snow or ice conditions
There are two possible answers. #1 the bus driver can't stand listening to all the students talking or screaming at the same time, and wants to get out of the bus and run away. #2 the bus driver is a nice person, and wants the train to get inside the bus
Yes I did ride a school bus. When I was in the 7th and 11th grades. From south-central L.A. I went to Parkman Jr High in Woodland Hills and Birmingham HS in Van Nuys. It was the best experience in my life!
Funny thing was when once in my hometown they still did it on a line that CSX had long abandoned and taken up mostly all of the rails for at the crossings, ever since 2015
I remember riding the school bus as early as when I was in kindergarten in 1989 and I remember they had to do that and nobody was allowed to talk while the doors were opened at the railroad tracks. Of course I finished highschool on May 20th, 2002.
I walked to all of schools I went to, except the first few weeks of second grade, because our new school hadn’t been finished in time to start there. I graduated from high school in 1974, and went to work soon after that.
I often wonder why when a school bus is crossing a railroad where there are gates and signals to prevent vehicles from crossing when a train comes thorough, why a school bus still has to stop. This action causes slowdowns to traffic, especially in congested areas. I am sure this just dates back to the days when few railroad crossings had these safety devices. The laws should be changed so school buses only stop at train crossings with no gates or signals. Also, when I went to school in the late 1950's and the 1960's, most kids either walked to school or took a school bus. Very few parents ever took or picked up their children from school. Parents being chauffeurs for their children seems to not have appeared until the late 1980's and the 1990's. Why this trend took place still baffles me.
In Austin, these busses cause so much congestion which reduces the overall safety of the road. Railroad crossings are expensive - why can't they be trusted?
actually trains arnt required by law. thats handeled by each durisdiction. around here theres lots of silent crossings. you have to be super cairfull when going across them during the winter because the sensors in the track freeze and dont detect the trains. If you go to any naberhood with a train that runs near, its likely a silent crossing.
Hi Bright Side! I am from Mumbai, India. My school was not too far from my house. So my mom usually took me to school. Now I am in college, and I remembered those my school days... Now I have to travel daily by train to reach my college. But that's the fun too.... 💞💞💞❤❤😘😘😘😄😄😄😄😄😄
The only thing that will change all this are railroad quiet zones, because people move to communities then complain about sound from a railroad that has been there for years, which then the city has to take action on trains, so trains will not be blowing their horns at all crossings. So I don't know what rules change at quiet zone railroad crossings.
we dont take buses mostly walk or use the jeepneys if far away it was harder back then since some people are 1 day away from the school so its sundays and monday i dont know how it worked though
They never opened the door at railroad crossings when I took the school bus through a crossing each day, a couple years ago. That was in Canada, but maybe it's a province specific thing here. Buses only do a stop here.
Have u noticed that there a RU-vid channel name "sisi terang" that its really same like ur channel even their photo and video really same like ur. I don't know if they do content stealing I don't know. Check it out
Bright Side the actual distance is 15-50 feet from the first rail. 5 feet is TOO close to the tracks as the train is quite a bit wider than the width of the rails. If there is a stop line then you stop behind that irregardless of its distance from the first rail.
Bus have power steering.evey bus i have driven have power steering. Also checking the power steering parts is part of the pre-trip Inspection that is required of all commercial vehicles to be performed.
The answer is because the bus driver has to open its door, and rear driver window, because it’s important the open it to hear and see if a trains coming or not.
It takes longer for a school bus to stop and get going over the tracks. Most times the bus pretty much stops almost on the tracks. And then it takes so long for it to speed up to get over the tracks then it would if they would just go without stopping unless the signals are flashing. Also to if there is a mechanical issue where the bus is all of a sudden not able to get going they are stuck even closer to the tracks then if it broke down while moving and momentum could get the bus fully over. I remember having such dream where I was at the back of the bus and the bus stopped at the tracks and started going again even tho there was a train coming. I remember the bus moving so slow and seeing the train coming and wishing the bus would speed up and get off before the train but we got hit.
My mom was a bus driver and I grew up whit this and one time I was with her while she was taking high schoolers on a field trip and her friend in front of her didn't open the door or stop she kept driving and the train barley missed the back of the bus.
the whole stopping at RR tracks didn't become law until about 1973 when a fully loaded freight train hit a school bus full of kids. it's pretty gruesome
There was another accident in Utah during the 1930s. A school bus driver was on his usual route at the usual time. Normally trains were too. He normally never encountered a train at the railroad crossing. One day a train was running late. It hit the school bus, killing a couple of dozen students. He did not hear the train.
I rode the school bus to school in grade school and yes I love riding on though my siblings didn't .. I also drove school bus a few years ago .. and enjoyed it and yes we have features now a button to cancell fans, radio and other noise making devices .. though wish it did shut a few kids up LOL.. though we did flash the dome lights and that signaled to the kids to be quiet until the lights goes off.
