There ARE actually 2 compass' in the Compass. One in the configurable TFT display in the instrument cluster and another compass on the navigation icon on the Uconnect screen. Also, the previous compass did offer a compass in the instrument cluster.
Paris Holman I would love to have a Jeep for my first car. I’m not sure if I want a compass Cherokee or grand Cherokee. The looks of the compass and grand Cherokee appeal to me more but I still like the more storage in the Cherokee vs the compass
I’ve just bought one in the UK. I got it in magnesio grey. It’s fine. Had an Audi Q3 before & this 2019 Compass of mine just feels like it’s been thrown together in some aspects. Otherwise, it is fine! Not many on the roads over here either.
I tested one and I thought the interior was kind of cheap in places like the center console lid. But overall it is a real improvement over the last one
Looks nice and all,but if you really want one please don't go out and pay full price, you'll be able to get this for almost 10k off sticker by end of year or next year when the dealerships are flooded with thses and need to sell them
I owned Patriot, I was so skeptical to drive Compass, but the 2017 has Grand Cherokee genes runs in the new Compass. I wish facelift could also be done to Patriot instead of 2016 Cherokee. I will keep my boxy Jeep Cherokee.
this is a perfect vehicle for northern states. you want a stutdier suspension, especially here in SE Michigan, because the roads are horrible. you didnt even go over the safety features.
I have the 2018 compass with the smaller touch screen the information is the same size there's a lot of black space on that screen and that's also why the radio and climate controls are lower because of that huge screen I have the small screen is just fine and I have a compass also
No compass? What does SW stand for on the screen? SuperWorthy? And a CR-V starts at $25,000, or almost 20% more. RAV4 $500 more than the Honda. Even an HR-V starts at 21k.
My 2018 compass trailhawk has a compass in the apps that’s literally nothing but a giant compass on the screen? Either they added it in or you didn’t look very hard
im laughing so hard because he makes everything sound like its a let down lmao like even when he's talking about things he likes he sounds unimpressed lmao
Guys I need your advice I am interested in the new Jeep Compass. It costs around $25,000/- where I live. The compass is a fun drive. Only problem is the slow engine, which I don t mind. However, I also found a used 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee for almost the same price and has 30,000 KM on it. I love the grand cherokee. It has a lot of space and engine is great. To be honest, I don t need that much power in the engine but I love it. My only problem is that it is used and not safe. The new compass is rated "Top Safety Pick" by the IIHS. I will be getting married soon. I feel like i will be needing extra room for the baby stroller and other shoppings/groceries. The compass does not provide that room. I have a 2014 jeep compass and I understand. What do you guys think?
The new Compass actually has more boot space that the standard Cherokee and has plenty of safety features for a family. Stuff you'll appreciate in the Compass are rear doors open almost 90degs which is handy for childseats. I've not seen the Cherokees to compare this though.
That is a question based on your wants, needs and budget. I bought this for my 17 year olds first car. The Compass is not to small nor too big and has great options for a younger driver. I really liked that the vehicle has safety equipment for a newer driver like a back up camera and sensors, cross path detection, blind spot detection, crash mitigation with auto braking, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, rain sensing wipers, auto high beams, 4 wheel drive with select terrain settings and my younger driver likes the fun options like apple carplay {android auto}, panoramic sunroof, navigation, hands free control of music , climate and texting, remote start and heated seats and wheel. As you can see it can be a nice car for anyone but only you can decide if it is right for you. If you buy used try to get something under warranty to avoid buying someone's previous problems and costly repairs.
Agreed. I had a Jeep and other Chrysler products. Good content and price. Poor quality. I hope this is better. It certainly looks good but this new model has already been recalled.
Time to "call out the reviewer " . There is a hard button labeled COMPASS on the 5 in screen and a soft touch icon on larger screens for the COMPASS, and why do you tap on a soft touch dash and say "there is a lot of black plastic in front of me ". Misleading people to think it is a hard plastic dash, what did you expect the leather covered dash from the Grand Cherokee.
I guess being so tall you did notice that short ladies have their neck pushed forward in the drivers seat, horrible ! gave me stick neck, what can fix that? please cause I'm about to buy one
Here's a better idea. Get rid of the Patriot and the Cherokee. Then rename the Compass the Cherokee. The new Compass is what the new Cherokee should have been.
The Jeep Compass kind of sits in it's own little class. It's too big to be a sub compact, but is a little too small to just be a normal compact such as the CR-V. Because of this, it tends to be lumped into the same class as a CR-V and Rav4 while the Jeep Renegade, an actual sub-compact crossover, is the jeep sub-compact.
The front of the car is not bad , it looks like a grand Cherokee but the rear it's rather ugly. How's the quality of the interior ? Because it seems very cheap. ,especially the door's plastic . Congrats for the review
I have the Compass and just don't. Please. It's beautiful but I'm legit $10k belly up because the retail price is way way over KBB value. And I've taken excellent care of my car.
Is it a requirement that youtube vehicle reviewers have a lisp? I've watched 6 different videos in a row now, all different people, all lithping their atheth off.
FCA failed at this. Think of how much better FCA would be if they built reliable vehicles. Better yet, if they had a 2liter turbo petrol (like every other manufacturers that had it for years now) and a torque converter 8 speed auto. That is what all its SUVs should have as an option.
DEALERS PLEASE STOP OFFERING THIS MODEL MOSTLY IN 4x4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How do the the millions of people driving their crappy fwd cars make it alive thru the winters??? You don't need AWD unless you're going up a mountain cliff, or driving on the sand, or are diving like a maniac in a snowstorm or rain just to FINALLY justify going for the AWD. This is just a crappy SUV that will be used to go to McDonald's or the mall. Stop with the 4x4 just because it's a jeep. Come on.
essel23fly im guessing you dont live in an area with heavy snow. up here where i live awd is a must. keep in mind that not everybody lives in the same area as you and fwd will get you nowhere in some places. idiotic comment, where do you live?
i dunno i live in ontario canada and winter drive a Z.. if you live in an area that gets plowed than awd is completely unnecessary, i think tires and ground clearance are the most important factors to consider
Yea I'm in the gta and although awd is nice to have, i wouldn't say it is necessary. On the other hand, people that actually live in northern ontario would have no use for a fwd car considering most roads do not get plowed. This person is also forgetting we are talking about jeep here. A manufacturer who's roots are in the off road community. I don't think they have offered a vehicle without 4WD
