I am a 41 year old truck driver from NC. I have traveled in the throughout the country, including the deep south. The only time I have EVER been called the N-word had always been by other black people.

There is thing called logic.What is logical and true is not based on a single person's experience. Some people get cancer. Other people don't. Does that mean that cancer doesn't exist? You have ZERO right to say that some other person has not experienced racism. Saying something like in the United States is ridiculous when, in fact, people are still murdered for being black. You know, like the young man who was jogging and murdered by a group of white men. Of course, there were also the shoppers in a black neighborhood who were murdered by a white supremacist in Buffalo New York There were also those Latino shoppers who were murdered by a white supremacist in San Antonio. I graduated in 1973 Our yearbook cover had 5 students posed one behind the other. Pacific islander at the front, an Asian girl behind him, a Hispanic guy behind her, then a White girl and lastly a Black guy. We were showing our diversity and that we welcomed everyone.

I agree, wise words. Should actually be taught in school too, I think jr high. I became my own mental victim because I was a poor white kid who lived in a trailer in a very rich tourist town. As a young kid starting they mocked my clothes, etc.. I started seeing myself as nothing but trailer trash and became a rebellious little witch. I later joined army and gained pride in myself, learned that I was actually very smart (top honors, then earned bs and a masters degree. ) and capable just like all my fellow soldiers. Just needed to have that label removed when I was in basic and have done well since then.

All skin colors have a comparable proportion of racists. Teach the next generation about mistakes of the past, without assuming they're condemned them to repeat it. At my diverse highschool I heard thousands of racist comments directed at white people, and maybe a handful of fried chicken jokes in the other direction. 10 miles in any direction, the schools are all white with a bunch of classic ignorant racists who love the nword. This generation is still affected by racist beliefs, but I don't see anyone irl going out of their way to hurt people. You could say: The money and power held by whites, provided the means for the racists among them to do the most shitty things. Also, a lack of money or power made it more difficult for some to defend themselves from racist actions.

Mine was 99.9% white and probably a total of maybe 6 black people and one of them was my best friend. Her dad was an angry black man so she heard about how bad us white people are, then he married a white woman after he divorced her mom 🙄 But no one EVER called her a hard "R" that I heard EXCEPT her own sister. I went to HS in Springfield, MO.

It still comes down to the individual and their actions-if you break the law and commit crimes then you created the situation. YOU. When there is no evidence that a particular incident (such as her son being called that word) happened, the burden of disproving it falls on everyone else. That is why she can make the allegation and not worry about being proven a liar. Because how can a nonexistent event be disproved?

I did geological surveys all over the united states, and met all kinds of people. My partner for 2 years was a black guy, D'von. We've been alive for 27/28 years and the most racist thing D'von said he ever heard is when someone called us "Rush hour". No slurs, nothing. Just a silly joke... Man was from Colorado, endless whiteness.
