Why Candace (Against the Universe) is the MOST IMPORTANT Character in Phineas and Ferb. 

Honestly Candace is proof Ashley Tisdale is a phenomenal actress

"Aren't you a little old to be talking about a two kids with weird heads and the awesome character that is their sister?" "Yes, yes I am, but someone's gotta do it."

They could have made Phineas and Ferb be like "haha our annoying sister ammirite", but they're not. They genuinely love their sister and want her to have a good life, and I thrive for wholesome family dynamics.

I think that Candace has OCD. It would explain her constant obsession with her brothers and her crush. It would also explain her impulsiveness as well

Candace always felt like the protagonist to me because she's the one that reacts to the plot cycle and is the one who's the most aware of the repetition. Phineas, Ferb and Doof are the ones responsible for the cycle, they move the plot, Candance is constantly trying and failing to work through it.

Candace comes off as crazy because she's the closest thing to normal in a crazy universe (a universe that's crazy partially because everyone's so blase about stuff). Though I wouldn't exactly call her normal. In the film her lesson that she's "special" because her "special" brothers love her, which is normal but still a good thing for her to learn.

This is such a good analysis on Candace ToonStarterz. I watched Candace Against the Universe on Disney+ 3 days and I really got a chance to appreciate and experience the side of Candace we haven't seen before in previous episodes of _Phineas and Ferb_ and _Across the 2nd Dimension._

In my opinion, Candace always wanted to protect their brothers because she thought the inventions are too dangerous and they could be hurt.

I've always liked candace cause tbh she's quite funny and I lowkey feel bad for her 😅. This video was just so sweet to watch.

She is over protective of her brothers she wants them to be safe and she loves them too also she knows about perry but keeps it a secret since she doesn’t want perry to be taken away because she is trying to be a good sister even though they annoy her she loves them and the worst part is that no one believes her they all think she is insane while she seems to be the only sane one (Candace does know but the part of she doesn’t tell because she loves them that part is a theory by me but it’s not so far fetched)

Some of these points were kind of a stretch but I'm here for some candace representation tho. If anything she's the emotional one (and helps ground a lot of the plotlines). She contrasts to all of the characters (debatably besides doof), who for the most part comically show no emotional responses to anything that happens. They're really over there fighting the evil other dimension doof with :| on their faces. Candace also asks a lot of the questions we as an audience ask; "what is happening" "how is that even possible" etc which is really validating for the people watching. Her emotions and reactions are exaggerated to comical lengths due to her teen age which does get addressed throughout the series and she's reassured she is loved anyway. She's going through an awkward stage in her life I don't think it's fair to call her a bitch. She overreacts yeah, but she doesn't exactly have a normal life when her brothers just built a roller coaster in their back yard. She's not exactly taught to know how to react to something like that especially when she has no parental input since they never see it. She'd be a bitch if she ripped the tools out of their hands or sent them to their room when she was in charge, but she doesn't. She's only looking to be validated and loved. The boys really do set out to wind her up sometimes too, it's literally in the title sequence (as they should since they're her little brothers). As a girl watching this it was nice to have an older sister figure to look up to, and as an adult now it makes me laugh to watch her and see how I definitely had similar emotional outbursts. Candace was really the only character that went through character development. She had friendship struggles, had a lot of 'firsts' throughout, dealt with heavy topics like depression and how she viewed herself and her self worth. Like I said, she's going through a lot. TLDR: I know you didn't intend it so much, but calling a young girl a bitch for raising their voice or being emotional just isn't it.

Idk if it was only me but when I was a kid (I still am) but then I was 5-8 yrs old..I always used to feel bad for Candace because if even though he was right no one believed her...that happens to me alot..my family favours my sister more just because she is more intelligent so even when she throws a tantrum and I point it out...I'm the wrong one...I mean...I don't really care anymore abt it...but I used to bad for Candace so much that wouldn't even feel like watching the episode sometimes lol

This analysis makes sense Phineas and Ferb may be the title characters but Cadence has been through character growth while the two boys don't have much , she isn't perfect and that's okay. That's what truly makes her special But the new movie doesn't top Across The Second Dimension ,not even close.

She succeeded in deducing the Law of the Conservation of Energy from something she read in a comic book (Mission Marvel). She read every single Sherlock Holmes book there is in a single night (as someone who read all of those books in a much longer time span that’s quite impressive) she managed to figure out and expose the illusion at the sci-fi/fantasy convention in Nerds of a Feather. She’s smarter than she appears

Candace really is the most important character the whole story revolves solely around her since the whole point of the show is for her to bust her brothers and fail doofnsmirtz and Perry battles exist only to remove phineas and ferb.creations so it all depends on Candace

I didn't think of her like that before I've seen video, but you have a point. In many animes my favorite character is the one who gets the "only sane man" trope. But in animes "the only sane man" (this can be female too) gets prortrayed as someone who is tired of the insanity going on around them, and just takes part because some plot device forces them too or they care enough about someone to put up with their stupidity, while Candace tries to actually fight against the insanity happening around her. I don't know if it's the difference between eastern and western cartoon world, or Candace is that special.

The thing is...if Candace isn't really that much of a B word, why does she seem so desperate to get her brothers into trouble? It's as Vanessa said in the special, does she REALLY believe the world will become better if her brothers were busted

In Across the Second Dimension when she told The Mysterious Force that the purpose of busting her brothers was ultimately to protect them I completely believed her since at that point she had been shown when the chips are down more than enough that I already though that was the reason so reducing to a matter of envy of her brothers being more impressive than she is seems to me to fly in the face of that. So not a fan
