When Jews came back to the land there was not much to seen and nobody wanted to live there because of high risk of malaria. Some reasons below. * There absolutely NO evidences from Archeological digs in Mecca that there was a city called Mecca during Mohammads times (570-632 AD) * There are NO historical maps indicating Mecca during Muhammads period. * The earliest known Quibla (direction of Islamic prayer) pointing to Mecca is from AD693 all the other prior Quiblas are pointing towards Petra.
