I lost my precious baby chaweenie to IVDD, the vets failed to diagnose it prior to Total paralysis, I tried stem cell therapy but it didn't work. He later developed kidney problems and had to put him down. I'm still reeling from the pain and fighting depression, he was my therapy baby, sent by God to help me with night terrors, I'm a disabled vet and getting on in my years so I hope to see him on the other side when my time comes
I am very sorry for the loss of your fur baby. Please next time consider give food like chicken beef fish eggs with raw veggies and do not vax until they are one or two. They only tea need the rabies and cough kennel They can have titer test to see immunity. My pet also had side effects from vacs and she was a tiny dog. They give the same dose to a Great Dane than a cup chihuahua.

I haven't given him antibiotics in awhile. The squishy ear comes back with the scratching, and then it's gone. They told me he had a polyp but I guess I'm curious about even after the antibiotics, why does it come back. He also scratches all over with dry skin. I feed him a wet food diet and occasionally I boil chicken breats.I'm wondering what could cause that? Maybe the food he is eating..I just feel sometimes Natural is better. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I wish I lived near you so you could have been my vet for my Cavalier. He just passed suddenly from a fatal heart arrhythmia. It is still a shock to me. He did have MVD and we were getting his heart checked at the cardiologist and he collapsed and died. I had him on a whole food diet and I was trying to do everything Holistically that I could, but the vets around here are not very supportive of it. They make you feel like you are not doing the best for your pet.
I love everything you stand for ♥️ My stress is cost and lack of holistic options in Canada. I want to do the best for my 3 cats but they are sinking me financially. I had 2 singleton cats that lives to 17 & 19 yrs without vet checks. I’ve had nothing but medical problems with my 4 (lost their brother before he was 2yrs old). They’ve been on can food for more than half their lives, they are 4yrs. For financial reasons, last summer, they were on the cheapest I could find and the guilt was killing me…and probably them also. I’m trying to do better but I’m sinking and I’m in for $4000 biopsy on my Kiki in a couple of weeks. I haven’t recovered from her dental procedure in Sep. I put aside $200/month and it’s not enough. Sorry for the rant. There is so much I would do if I had all the money in the world. Insurance is out of the question as they all have issues. Pet companions are become something for the rich. I eat poorly so they can eat better 😔
You really love your pets and it’s very sad that some take advantage of us. Please next time don’t vax unless is rabies (once) and cough kennel the vet can deworm it’s ok. Thus website is so great with so much info. I bet she can treat your pets with tele visit. And she treats naturally. Or without unnecessary meds. Our pets need love home food and deworming. They are resilient. Stronger than us. It’s a sham vaxibg them every year. I have been listening to experts with vacs and they say one should last a life time pharma has lied to us for many years now.
Im so sorry for what you went through losing your precious babies. 💞 I, too discovered the dangers of kibble after my childhood cat companion got sick. Watching him suffer in his last days broke my heart and changed me forever. After that, I pleged to myself to always prioritize the best possible food for all my pets. Times when money was extremely tight I fasted so i could use the money to keep feeding them raw. Id rather pay more now and have them live happy, healthy lives full of vitality than save a little feeding kibble and watching them suffer and eventually having to pay thousands of vet bills. I'm taking a chance and asking (because right now I don't know how to get in touch with a holistic vet in any other way as it's not that common where I live🙈): My one cat has been vomiting for 8 days. It started this after the day it tasted a boiled scallop. I called the vet after the fifth day but they thought I could wait and at the same time remove natural food for a while. Maybe I went too fast with raw food as my cat had also been eating other protein sources in the days before. But the vomiting doesn't stop and I don't know how to best help her. She does it once a night. What can I do?
I have a depressive disorder, an anxiety disorder, a panic attack disorder, and C-PTSD, along with a myriad of other neurological disorders because of head injury and infections. I don't tolerate medications for those mental illness problems because of allergies and other issues, so I have to depend on other things, including having emotional support dogs that are trained to help me. I can't eliminate my mental illness to reduce the amount of stress on them. I can't journal, or seek therapy, or do any of the rest of the things you recommended for MY emotional health, because those things don't fix my mental illness problems, and some of those recommendations actually make my mental illness worse. But I can depend on my dogs to help support me, so that I can continue to survive. Please don't make me feel bad that I have to depend on them for that, because I can't survive without their help. My mental illness is not an intolerable source of stress for them. They do a good job of looking after me, and do just fine, and they feel glad to be able to help me. It gives them a purpose that gives them a sense of fulfillment. I take good care of them. I do what I can to give them the coping tools that they need to be able to cope emotionally, and I work hard to meet their needs. But I HAVE to depend on them when I'm having a panic attack, or I'm locked into flashbacks from my PTSD, or I'm having some other type of neurological problem. And right now I have a dog who is doing their job to intervene for me because I'm at heightened emotions. So, I hope I've said enough.
Great video. More vet's need to have this mindset. You are exactly right about vet's over medicating by just throwing something at the symptom and not getting to the root cause.

Thank you for saying all these. I can feel my vet's care but sometimes there is really no other options T_T and she listens esp after a few years, she lets me do the holistics and the home remedies because she knows I would do it again and saw me and my older pets fight together. Of course, we stil say goodbye cuz pet's life are unfortunately shorter but recent years I see her using more organic medicines. Tho the kibble feeding still is her suggestion to pet owners, tho she never does that on me she knows I cook my dog's food. But just hearing you say all theses as a vet yourself makes me feel not so alone anymore. In the place where I live where pet clinics are very limited, I already have the most effective doctor I can get but she still isn't enough. They don't even have enough equipment in their clinic
Thank you for another great video. I started cooking for my dog when he was diagnosed w a stage 2 heart murmur and added supplements. He was great on this for about 3 years, then the murmur turned into 5/6 late 2021. I was suggested Vetmedin and Flouresmide. I refused to give it to him, and started tinctures. March 2022 had fluid drained around his abdomen. Prob should’ve advocated for my dog and said no. Then saw a holistic nutritionist and had a whole new recipe of cooked whole foods w different supplements, but told me to start the vetmedin. This was the beginning of the end, like you said it worked in the beginning so you believe in it. Then liver and other failures happen because of it. Anyhow long message…advocate for your pets and as Dr Woodley says ask “why!” Only real food for my next pup 🐶 1000% knowing what I know now with my experience. TY
😢 i just went thru the exact same scenario w my peek-a-poo. Add in the Spironolactone. I caught his CHF diagnosis v early n was able to extend his life for 2.5 yrs. Spent hours every night watching these videos. Mr. Jingles was 14 when he finally succumbed to a weaken heart. I too drowned in my sorrow for months. Not even wanting to get outta bed. I just rescued another dog w CKD. Blood work came back CKD stage 2. So I'm ready to begin this fight on point w diet, holistic n vet care. May you heal 🙏 w love.

Growing up we had GS & that’s all he ate. Mornings my dog gets dog food with turmeric, in the evening they eat what I eat. They love venison & green beans, asparagus.
It’s ridiculous. Every pet I’ve ever owned had died of cancer. This is common but certainly not normal. If I asked my vet what the root cause if s symptom was they probably wouldn’t even know. They only know the drug to give for the symptoms. The same thing that happened in human sick care has happened to vet care. I’m having to educate myself on vet care. Seems every vet in my community has been captured by the industry.

I just lost my beautiful Schatsi and I so lost. because I took my dog to the vet .and all I got its bill that they do not do nothing for them> I know that it must sound silly, but I am so in pain for my dog I need guide of a vet that really loves dogs , and that wants to help them, I don"t have a lot of money but when I gone to the vet the only thing is that is the money that they want and not to help the dogs care. Where are you located so I can take my dogs I have 6 other dogs , I need a vet that cares?
I don't know about them in America, but here in Europe the big problem for dog diseases is the feed industry. That industrially produced dog food is a chemical cocktail and is responsible for many diseases such as allergy etc. etc. etc., that prove many studies. Dogs must be fed species appropriate and that means Barf. Raw meat and bones, offal like rumen etc. some selected vegetables, some selected fruits, natural yogurt and goat milk for the intestine and the immune system. But no grains. Every responsible dog owner should try it, it is very simple.

What is your opinion on the prescription foods which are prescribed by veterinarians for various issues including Crystals which my cat has at the moment ?
I'm not a big fan of prescription diets and have resolved urinary crystals for cats without these diets. They are not meant for long-term usage anyways and are used inappropriately which can lead to nutritional imbalances long-term and other health issues. Moisture is the key for resolving struvite crystals anyways and making sure the pH of the water is not affecting the body pH.
@@thenaturalpetdoctor It seems to be very difficult to monitor the proper PH level for my cat without the expensive intervention of the veterinarian i have taken him to. So for now i am using supplements recommended by you and he is stable but doing this without truly knowing his exact PH as i am unable to gather urine to determine this . She of course insists on the prescription food which i refuse to resort to . So it is hard ....
Retired farmer here. "Holistic" is the modern word for the way we used to treat our animals. I owned and operated a small farm in mid Missouri with my parents, until I was almost 60 years old. We raised and fattened a herd of 45 cows and 55 sows, farrow to finish. We never bought "store bought" feed- we raised corn, wheat and oats and mixed our own rations with purchased protein supplement. This was much cheaper than using the "store bought" feed. I also have a Master's degree in animal nutrition from the University of Missouri, so I have a little experience from that. We do feed our dogs dry "dog food". It is basically crap; but so is much of the processed human food at the grocery store. In addition the the dry dog food, they get to run in our orchard on grass/clover which they eat quite often; they get a raw egg every day or so; they eat any of the fruit that drops on the ground, except not the grapes. And I supplement with selenium, Vitamin B1 and Vitamin B2 . They also get some table scraps; what is good for you is good for them.

Poland. My dog is a mix border collie almost 12yo. he had mast cell tumor on his leg. it was removed in July 2021. in mid april 2022 i started a cooked diet mostly. i did not vaccinate him since june 2021. i managed to find a holistic vet in Opole (M. Tarka), visited him 2 times this year. this year i try natural sprays, etc. to prevent ticks. I give him plenty of suplements.
Without guidance from a professional, can it not be risky to give one’s pet holistic alternatives…since they too are not without risk if given inappropriately…if you don’t know what you’re doing?
Oh, Dr. Katie Woodley, why, oh why, are most all conventional vets so determined to stay in their state of ignorance??!!!! So infuriating to a proactive pet parent. We are now under the care of an holistic vet, after my following our conventional vet’s strong demands in giving neurotoxins. My young dog experienced 2 grand seizures and now on seizure meds. 😢
