I honestly tried going to college twice, but it just wasn't for me. So one day I walked into the recruiting office for the Navy 2 months ago actually and now I'm studying for the ASVAB. Next Wednesday I find out when I go to MEPS. I want to do something different with my life and travel the world. Wish me luck!

I don't regret having joined the Navy for one second. I will never say I regret joining the Navy. I regret not joining the Navy reserve after I got out of active duty, I was in almost 8 years. I wasa on a big ship, a small ship and a medium sized shit that was also a supply ship too and I spent my last 2 years on shore duty. So I did alot in almost 8 years in the Navy. God and the Navy gave me a resolve to never give up when I go through adversity. I've survived a stroke, a blood bacteria and cancer. I was always going to survive.

Best mess hall I ever had was at sigonela Italy I served onboard the USS Seattle AOE 3 and it definetly depends on who runs the kitchen I saw a big change from just 1 new first class demanding that things get done right . GO NAVY!

That isn't a bad decision to go into the Navy and I am speaking from the view point of a retiree from the Air Force. I enjoyed my travels and got to see many places and loved the experiences I had. I got my college degree in History, and Political Science, but did not get into politics. I retired from the state of Arkansas also and believe that everyone should either go to college and then enter a field of work, or go into the military and pursue a career there, and get a college degree while in there.

Can you change station on a "MO" board, what about doing a CPA on the scope. What is Mode 4 used for, what is a brevity code word to start doing a maneuver, what is HICOMM used for, what frequency is international distress.

Same here, I tried college for 2 years and it did not work out. So, I enlisted in the US Navy for 4 years from 1989 to 1993. And then I went back to college and graduated in 1998.

I always wondered about ship life but never wanted to be on one haha... I did 2 enlistments and left a HM2 (FMF) with never having been on a ship 😂 why I joined the Navy even tho I didn't want to be on a ship, well that's a long story that took me from a marine recruiters office to a Navy recruiters officer and landed me in Coronado California freezing my butt off during surf torture lol... Military life is a beautiful thing and will take you on a journey that will leave lasting memories both good and bad.

Congratulations on selecting the “OS” rate to many it’s known as winning the Navy Lottery as as everyone I’ve ever known (including deck seaman who strike for OS) make E5 in their first four year enlistment and at least E6 or better in their subsequent re-enlistment (8 years). At sea 12/12 in port... clean, update your reference material and then get ready for Liberty....all by 13:00 every day 😳, the OS life is GREAT! 👍

idk if you go back and read comments on older videos but,,, i was wondering about your hand tattoo? i seen a few times that navy allows hand tattoos but i also seen that sometimes recruiters still say you need to remove it. what was your experience w it and what have you been told? i’m curious bc i got a small stick n poke on my hand and want to know if i should just get it removed.

Currently contemplating the navy

I was going to the army but mom got me to talk to my sister’s recruiter and now I switched to the navy. My sister is currently in bootcamp and her job is cryptologic technician but I’m not sure which one tho. Her asvab score was 77 and mine was 51 but I didn’t get to study as much as she did and she just graduated HS. My job list got CTT, OS, HM and AO. I don’t know which one to pick. CTT and OS is neck and neck and I go to MEPS in 07/13/2020. I’m nervous. Wish me luck.
