After all the heartache I had with the Colts government 380, I had to try to get another Sig P238 to replace the one I sold for the Colt. It took me a year and a half to find one I wanted to pay for, but I finally got one.
I use to have a p-238 in black pearl. I fired 1000 rounds through it and it performed perfectly..no issues at all. I sold it and regretted it ever since because it was super reliable.
ive put over 1500 rounds through mine and only had one malfunction. The malfunction was a new shooter who limp wristed it. ive personally never had a malfunction. and the accuracy is amazing i can shoot 2 inch groups at 50ft.
I bought a new P938 Legion 3.5 months ago, 500+ rounds threw it JHP & FMJ, Zero issues or malfunctions, I love it. I have a Craft OWB thumb break & DeSantis Criss Cross leather holsters and 2 Alabama pocket holsters for it. I'm actually thinking about getting a second one!
one known issue that some of the p238s had was issue in the design of the slide lock pin. The pin was known to fall out sometimes, either under recoil or if the gun tilted to one side. I fixed this issue on mine, by brazing some copper tubing onto the pin portion and sanding and polishing to fit. Never had an issue since.
Ah, the Sig Sauer P238. If I wanted to carry a 1911-like micro-compact handgun in .380, I would have to consider that very gun. I've been carrying a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard, the original version, with the laser. Then, my adorable wife has decided that she'd like to carry my S & W Bodyguard. She shoots it c very well. She's got a hidden talent, she's a terror with a shotgun! No one, who's come to our farm to shoot skeet or trap has ever bested her. No one! Not even me, the former sniper, nothing doing. So, she gets the Bodyguard. And I'm looking to nab a, wait for it: Sig Sauer P938, the 9mm version of your P238. Woo-hoo, I get to buy another gun. Has anyone here ever shot the P938? A brother CCW/PILOT type swears by the P938 and carries it daily. Any feedback on my P938 purchase, because it's happening, soon? Shoot safe!
@@kiasax2 I have not shot a 938, though I have heard just like the 238 it can be pretty ammo picky- they have a steep feed ramp and some guns work better than others- sometimes they only like round nose ammo. If you get one, test a lot of different ammo in it to see what it likes, and carry that. You could always buy another S&W bodyguard .380 again too- they’re pretty cheap, you can often find them used for under $300. I have a Bodyguard as well and I shoot it well. But the P238/P938 have much better triggers and better sights
@@kiasax2 If you're determined to get a 938, they're decent pewpews & great for deep concealment. I had one and sold it, hence the interest in a 238. The Not-so-great: While the 938 shoots fine if a little snappy, the shorter, less tacky grip frame makes drawing from deep concealment a bit more challenging. Also, when I replaced the fairly slick checkered wood grips (stocks) for some grippy Hogue ones, the screw depth was different and affected the magazines. Not difficult to solve but not something I want with an EDC piece, either.
Yeah they really are well made. I took it out yesterday, put 100 rounds through it, ran great. One mag wouldn’t lock the slide back, but I tweaked the follower and it works now
@@crankygunreviews I have a p938 just like it which I like a lot. I also have the two tone p238 that had some problems but I did some minor work and now it’s great! Both are accurate and reliable!
@@crankygunreviews , yeah … I just went full 9mm , got a FN , Sig 320 & Glock …. None have any safety’s …. I’m ok with that now . If I shoot my balls off , only I’m to blame 🤷♂️
Sounds like that full circle adventure was exciting...your holster is a Chinese ebay special.. I like mine plenty but only carry it in my pocket with a Sticky and have time to carry 9mm usually. The troll calling this pistol trash is pretty ignorant, and Im guessing got their opinion by something they heard...that dudes definitely a no-go I hit 25 yards with boring consistency and it's the size of a cell phone.
@@larrnew Paid $729 for new P238 in California. They had 3 of them when I first saw it. A week later I bought the last one. CA is always more expensive. At least they got rid of 1 new gun/month law. For how long I don't know.
Oh, joy. Another blaster they stopped making. I already spent too much this year due to my state’s AWB. (Grrrrr!) Glad you found another old friend! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
