Why Did Oumuamua Suddenly Accelerate after Flying Past the Earth? 

As aliens pass Earth, they lock their doors.

The aliens saw this Class 12 Death World produced a top species that had no claws or teeth to use in attack, nor exoskeleton or fur to increase defense; but instead relied on intelligence, cunning, and tenacity to become the Apex of life. A species that took the predators that once hunted it and turned them into pets like cats and dogs. A species that had no problems fighting and killing its own kind, but showed a capacity for coming together when outside influences became a bigger issue. Their was no way they were going to stop by and say Hello, and thus allowing this species; Humans; to escape into the greater galaxy and be unleashed upon all the other inhabited regions.

Oumuamua sped up after passing earth because its pilots saw signs of a very cruel, piggy headed, suicidal civilization with which they could not coexist. From afar we looked a home paradise to them. But close up we scared them. Now we are left to wonder what opportunities we missed.

I certainly hope that Oumuamua was a probe from a another civilization. My question is, how many years would it have taken for Oumuamua to travel from another star system? And is it likely that that civilization would now be long extinct?

Arthur C Clarke must've known Oumuamua was out there since it resembles Rama so closely..only difference we didn't have ships capable of a rendezvous with Oumuamua. at least ships the general population are allowed to know of. Oumuamua also seems rather too similar to the Probe in Star Trek IV for it to be coincidental. we've never seen anything like Oumuamua before & supposedly there's more of them out there. Seem to me that Oumuamua is utterly ancient..maybe pre-dating life on earth...

The fastest rocket we have produced so far is 165,000 MPH vis 196,000 for Oumuamua, if there had been the will, I am sure we could have done something to investigate.

It is a ship, this is how you should go interstellar travel... If there is any intelligent on board, they did not plan to stop flying at that speed. The spaceship can last forever since it is made of asteroid, and it is radiation proof, probably with gravity inside. May be only some overhaul of the propulsion is needed now and then. Logically interstellar spaceship should look like this. They had shut down their propulsion such as not to attract attention...simple explanation...
