It's definitely on the stylist. My cousin is a stylist and I used to get cuts while she was in school. Her instructors ALWAYS made her explain and confirm ANYTHING she planned to do to my hair. Blaming the bride for being drunk is the equivalent of doing so in a rape case.

I'm legally blind without my glasses, so every time I get my haircut, it's ALWAYS a shock when I put my glasses back on (all I see is a blur without). You have to KNOW and TRUST your stylist. Why would you place your trust in a stylist you've never met? Poor girl.

Okay but if somebody has log hair usually starting small is the best way to go, and then just see how they feel about it, if they ask for more do more but it helps them get used to the length easier.

It would never occur to me to give myself a haircut between the ceremony and reception (seriously, why? Don’t you have enough to do?) but my fiancé would definitely just laugh at me if I did something so ridiculous! Edit: I have hair down to my waist that my fiancé adores but never gets to see down because it drives me nuts (sensory issues) and every few months I threaten to take his clippers to it and shave it off. I had to shave my head once before for a surgery and found it really liberating, and when I asked one of my bridesmaids to be in the wedding she asked if I was ok with her shaving her head this summer (a prearranged plan) and still being in the wedding with such short hair, so this has already come up. 🤣

Pro tip to hairstylists: if the client says "surprise me with a new haircut", dont go shotter than shoulder length. Or if it's already shoulder length, dont go above the chin. Chances are that the person is unsure, and may not appreciate a suddent pixie cut
