So basically when the twins first arrived in teyvat one of the twins woke up first (the abyss sibling) and for some reason decided to not wake up their twin and instead go off alone to explore teyvat. Its unknown how long that time period was but it had to be enough to be familiar with khanria and its people enough to care about them. Supposedly the twin did something to anger celestia which resulted in the extermination of khanria, when the twin saw this they ran to get their sibling who was still asleep, and told them that they had to leave this world immediately. Thats when the first cutscene happens, where they try to escape only to be stopped and seperated by the unkown god. The abyss sibling is then sent down to teyvat without their original powers, to watch khanria get destroyed, while our traveler is sealed away in a sleep filled with endless nightmares, only to wake up 500 years later in a peaceful world. Those 500 years were the abyss siblings journey through teyvat with dain, gaining their original powers back and eventually becoming prince/princess of the abyss. And thats basically the vague timeline of the twins time in teyvat, just for anyone who wants to know. Obviously we know barely anything about them but this is what we know so far, feel free to add more details!

no, the 2 woke up without much difference and neither of the 2 knew anyone from khaenri'ah, only that (in this case lumine) lumine made a trip 500 years ago where he did not meet the archons and saw the destruction and problems he had the archons with his nation, this added to the fact that he was traveling with dainslief who told him about the nations but speaking something bad about the archons in the end it is possible that he believed the words of the herald of the abyss, in order to fulfill part of the plan. I do think that Lumine doesn't know what the archons are like, nor does she know that she's really out there, just as the khaenri'ah think, unlike Aether who did meet the archons and ends up helping them and really knows what they really are. If I think it was all a plan or Celestia or Istaroth. To prevent something that is going to happen in the future and all these tragic events it was necessary to avoid that event that will put Teyvat in Jake.

My only question lies with Venti's voice line and that fact also with the Genshin manga. Venti said, "Ah, Traveler, we meet again! What? You don't remember me?". In the manga, you can see Aether's body behind Venti. We can confirm that it's a couple of years after Vanessa went up to Celestia because in the manga Venti said (to the Aether) " She's still keeping watch over Mondstadt after all these years. Now I wonder if the world became a little bit stronger. She always hoped to see that" So somewhere the traveler woke up earlier but then somehow lost their memories once again? Also another thing to add is that Venti absolutely hates Celestia and refuses to go back up there.

I think three events occurred within a few months of each other that could all be traced to one source. 1. Paimon falls into a lake with no memories. 2. Aether awakens. 3. The Abyss and The Harbingers start making moves against the archons on a scale they haven't in 500 years. My thinking is that the harbingers, the abyss, both, or perhaps some as-of-yet unknown alien power recently defeated the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles. My guess is the Abyss, since it likely happened in or near Mondstadt. 1. The Sustainer survived the attack by turning into a memoryless tiny shade, like Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. This is Paimon. 2. The Sustainer's prisoner, Aether, is released. This might be why the Abyss was attacking in the first place, or she might have just released all her prisoners upon losing her powers. 3. The Sustainer would normally oversee any attempt to steal the divinity within the gnoses, but now that she is gone, the Harbingers can make their various moves. So I think that is the big twist that explains why everything is happening now. The Sustainer is already defeated, and likely all that is left of her is Paimon.

I feel like Paimon may be connected to the traveler's powers since they didn't resonate with any element before Paimon joined them. I'd also like to mention that during the Inazuma archon quest, the traveler lost against Raiden in the plane of euthymia despite having the ability to control multiple elements at once. That may be connected to the fact that Paimon didn't get sucked into that realm, therefore the traveler became weaker. We were only able to defeat Raiden with Miko and the ambitions of the people on our side. The traveler has cleared multiple powerful challenges but only with the presence of Paimon. And since the abyss sibling has white colored lights on their clothes, that may indicate that they don't have a "catalyst" with them like Paimon, unlike our traveler. We perhaps met Paimon by coincidence or fate, but she most likely is created exclusively for the Traveler's use no matter where she is from. The video also theorizes that Paimon was once a powerful being, but she may have been nerfed down for our use for some reason nobody knows.

I just realize something. The Unknown God knows the language of the Traveler. Paimon teaches the Traveler the language of Teyvat, so the language that the Unknown god is taking in shouldn't be the language of Teyvat since at that time the traveler doesn't know that language. BUUUTTTT. If Lumine was the Abyss sibling, she would know. And she was the only one who talked where the Unknown god responded.

While I wonder why 500 years, my burning question is why was the Abyss twin released from their containment almost immediately after the capture of both of them? The Golden Nara in the stories of the Arana are almost certainly about the Abyss twin, and these take place in the events around and following the Khaenri-ah crisis. And if the Abyss twin was immediately free after the encounter with the Heavenly Principles, why did they not try to free the Traveler? This whole scenario makes it seems less like the Traveler was imprisoned, and more like they were a hostage. This has interesting implications, as it means that the Abyss twin was and still is acting under the Heavenly Principles instructions. That they have not sought out the Traveler now that they are free of their containment would indicate whatever threat the Traveler was under to get the Abyss twin's cooperation is still present (Paimon?). This is just my pet theory, though, with little to support it..... Except.... In the cutscene confronting Stormterror (Dvalin) on Starsnatch Cliff, when the Abyss mage says the line "The time has come for the dragon to serve it's true master...", the camera view has progressively rotated, so at that moment Celestia appears literally over the Abyss mage's shoulder. The symbolism here is clear, implying the power behind the Abyss mage, the dragon's true master.... is Celestia.

Altering the Fate of the world would be tricky if one were already a part of that Fate. However an entity outside of that Fate could alter said Fate just by being an unaccounted for variable. To keep things in balance 2 variables working on opposite sides of said Fate would pull the necessary threads together like 2 crochet needles. The twin Travelers would indeed be perfect for such a plan. By inserting them into the timeline at separate points would indeed produce 2 distinctly different points of view. This would not be possible if they had all the information already thus by separating them their very minds can be manipulated as the information is presented to them in a certain order. In the end they will both understand everything but from opposite points of view and as Twins they will then have the task of reconciling those different points of view into a new whole. Currently we know far too little about the abyssal sibling but the Traveler we play as is something of a custodian cleaning up the mess of each kingdom they pass through. 1) We restore the statues of the 7 Archons. 2) We remove corruption and purify it wherever we come across it. 3) We uncover and keep secret the ancient knowledge of the world while removing evidence of its existence. (Not just Enkanomiya, the Chasm, etc. But even the simple artifacts of old laying hidden in the ruins of the world) 4) We might even consider that the unlocking of Domains is a re-establishment and cleansing of the various leylines of the world. 5) The Traveler, in some cases, even helps the dead to move on. The real Irony is that the Traveler is not publicly known for many of theses deeds. Defeating Davalin and standing up to the Raiden Shogun almost seems paltry in comparison and yet many only know of the Traveler because of such deeds. Talk about living a double life.

well it totally make sense to build a story about war, from 2 different prospective and mix them together in the end because they are siblings and probably just want to stay together again. Thing is, if its only them who knows, its kinda pointless because to make people understand the other side of the story would be impossible, as they didn't live it like you did. Meaning they would have to rule over the people and make laws that must be followed in order for peace to exist. But i think we're going way too much into theory, and probably the story will be completely different and more simple.

If you were to discover that Fate lead to an assured destruction of your people and your world what would you risk? Would you consider altering the very fabric of your being in order to alter your Fate? 1)Delusions 2)Abyssal corruption 3)Forbidden knowledge from beyond the world Seems to me there might be something to this theory worth considering. Then again in the Chasm I had high hopes to come across a fortress of the Abyss Order only to be surprised again that it was not so. I believe during this fight he lost his strength and took 500 years to wake up. Maybe his body is trying to recover his strength. And is still weak. Remember with every .0 update he is buffed. I think the Traveler definitely has role to play for Teyvat. As if they were following a predestined path made especially for them. In Sumeru during the Archon quest where you meet the little girl who make predictions and you ask her about your loves, she seems confused and says something like "it's impossible ... why are there so many people ?". It's like if the Traveler needed to meet specific people, as if it was a scenario. The theory about the twins replacing Celestia is actually very likely to happen since in the end of the teaser of the whole storyline, Dainslef says "The threads of all fates will be yours to reweave" just like if the Traveler will have all powers over Teyvat and what will happen. For the identity of "The Keeper", it's not very clear in English but in French, they don't talk about the Keeper but use the French equivalent for "The Sustainer of Heavenly Principles", exactly the same title as in the intro cutscene so it might be a mistranslation but maybe not ! Also, the fact that the Travelers are able to us every element without a vision seems very weird. I mean, if they're not from this world, why would they be able to resonate with the fundamental energies of Teyvat ? I think it may has something to do with the Sustainer, maybe she did something for the Traveler to be able to do that, it's as if they were a living vision that would be capable of filling itself with any element whenever they want to. An other thing is it is very frustrating that the Traveler hides informations from the player. They know what is this place that we can see on the loading screen and how to access it but we have literally 0 information about it. And since we know the gods of Teyvat are not from this world, maybe the reason why the twins were in Teyvat in the first place, was to "decolonize" Teyvat and beating their ass up to the colonizer gods. Maybe, they are some sort of cosmic harbingers who are there to preserve the balance of the universe (I may have gone too far on this one but it would be so cool !)

Basically they could have also alternated this, on one aether awakens first and on other Lumine awakens first. That's my theory on this tbh, as we have found aether knows more than what he lets on, he knows about the abyss, the fall of khaenriah, being there specifically, and who knows? The Traveler waking up, or even the sibling, was either unintentional on Celestia's part, or only happened once Celestia saw a use for them.

I've been thinking about it. And, do you ever wonder why the MC is keeping things from the audience, like during the "We will be Reunited" chats with Dainsleif? The Traveler obviously knows more than they are revealing. But why do this from a storytelling pov? Why would Hoyo do this? The obvious reason would be spoilers would detract from the tension/suspense of the mystery. So it can be a couple of reasons why: 1.) The Traveler knows, and the truth is pretty simple and straightforward when the information is revealed. 2.) Or the one i lean toward is; The Traveler does know but the revelation will be better suited to a tragic backstory because what the Traveler knows is everything about his journey EXCEPT for a period of time where their memories have been taken/altered. But the Traveler is aware that they are missing time/memories but can't tell the audience for obvious spoilers and dramatic Impact. It's been hinted that the siblings have forgotten some things just by reading the Wings of Descension (if it's about the Traveler?). I don't think the Traveler was just asleep, I think that it's possible that one or both of the sibling have memories stolen from them. I think as the Abyss sibling, Lumine in my case, got her memories back at some point in her travels but may be missing one or two and thus why she has been led down a dark path, due to perhaps a misconception. I actually think its also possible Aether, traveler, could have also been experimented on in captivity thus explaining why Albedo a "failed" experiment resembles Aether. Thus, why Aether isn't even telling the audience what he does and doesn't know, so it can have more dramatic shock value. Those are just two off the cuff. But i'm sure their could be another reason why the Traveler isnt openly revealing to the audience. Whats the proof? So far in the story/lore, we KNOW that when someone overuse's their power they either weaken by falling into slumbering and reawakening OR losing power/memories. Aether, the Traveler, shows BOTH of these. In his character story, it says "Reawakening", and while he doesn't share all his knowledge with the audience about what he knows or doesn't, we can see his power is slowly returning as he attunes to the elements during his travels. Thus Lumine, Abyss sibling, tells him to journey thru the world. So Aether can not only see what's going on with his own eyes but recover his power and or memories. Edit: Also to the dialogue from their encounter Lumine says along the line "we've always had enough time". This along with how characters such as Zhongli and Ei tell their stories to Aether to ALWAYS remember means that the siblings don't have the issue of erosion or losing memories adds support that Aether shouldn't have problems with remembering. Even though what we are told is vague because once it's known he is missing memories the conclusion becomes obvious that he was tampered with.
@chazy123
@chazy123 Год назад
"thus explaining why Albedo a "failed" experiment resembles Aether" If I'm not mistaken, canonically, any of the siblings can be the traveler, Aether is just used to portray the traveler in trailers and other videos. About that last part, traveler could simply have been in a coma for all that time and as far as we know the abyss sibling (or someone else) simply tampered with Irminsul's databank. Up until now (3.2), whenever time changed or history was rewritten, the traveler has either known or been shown, so I find it hard to believe for either of the siblings to have missing or tampered memories, even though it's still possible, only time will tell. But it's been confirmed that the traveler (and presumably their abyss sibling too) is immune to, at least, history rewrite and I'm pretty sure they would've noticed the inazuma tree suddenly appearing out of nowhere if they would've been there, unlike everyone else including ei who didn't notice and same as the sumeru people including kusalani forgetting about rukkhadevata. We still lack information.

"possible that one or both of the sibling have memories stolen from them." Or possibly Sacrificed to help a friend - the story already has self-sacrifices as a repeated theme; memories alone seem to have a large amount power in the world thanks to the power of dreams that COULD potentially encompass the whole of Teyvat; the Whole world as a dream world within a 500-year repeating Samsara, and there is a precedent already in the Aranara giving up memories in order to extract power.

I have an theory that the three Paimon and the twins are connected in some way, maybe being three different parts of the Primordial one, like what happened with Nahida or Guoba but in three parts I made this theory because of how the three, Paimon and the twins, have similar clothes, Aether is gold, Lumine is more white with her hair and clothes, and Paimon haves full white hair, and Paimon Symbol in her clothes haves a circle in the center, like a "three intites that are connected" and then a circle in the center like if it was the one who is connected to this other three We know that Genshin mostly base in other cultures and religions, and it could be that the twins and paimon are based in the Holy Trinity, that there are three separated entities but they all are connected to one person The Primordial one created Teyvat but that doesn't mean that he is from Teyvat, so my theory is that the twins and Paimon are three different parts of the Primordial One in a little more info, the particles that looks like constellations that the twins make in one of their animations and Paimon when it fly it makes it too, so they at least are totally related in some way

I think both travellers arrived at the present day but when they leave the gods mistake that they are 2 human steal the light element from Teyvat which weaken it. The god send 1 back in time where the chaos element erupt (kanrea) in hope that the light and chaos cancelled each other while left 1 in the present for back up.

I don't think we can confirm that the second throne was defeated. The only witnesses of the war, the enkanomians, did not see the end of the war, as they were buried during the conflict. I think there a few hints that the second throne won even. First is that things changed after the war. During phanes time the people were taken care of very directly. Nowadays that doesn't seem to be the case. Phanes and their shades cared a lot about their people, while after the war, people were starving, flooding and getting destroyed by angry gods and nails.

My thoughts are that only one of the siblings was to help Teyvat, which is the Abyss sibling. But they sided with Khaenri'ah and the Abyss, and started fighting for a future where the Abyss would supposedly rule. They also got a traveling partner, Dain, who was also from Khaenri'ah. He didn't think it right to help the creatures of the Abyss take revenge on the gods, and so went against the Abyss sibling, who, after the destruction of Khaenri'ah, wanted revenge. Now Celestia thought that it was necessary to awaken the other sibling, the Traveler, in order to help the gods and create a new world in favor of them. The Traveler got Paimon as their traveling partner. She guided them through the nations, and leading them to assist the nations as well. Since the Traveler did not experience the fall of Khaenri'ah, they, like all the people of Teyvat, believed the Abyss to be evil, and sided with the Gods to help their nations and destroy the Abyss and the Fatui. Currently, because of the Abyss sibling, the 'ideal' new world is being opposed by the Abyss, and the Traveler is fighting to stop the Abyss. The Abyss was never supposed to grow so powerful, as the Traveler's sibling, who awakened first, was supposed to help the gods. But because of their decision to help the Abyss, we arrive at the current state of the siblings. Thanks for reading this excessively long paragraph, I know this barely makes any sense lol

I dont understand why no book and scripture tells about the Traveller, like there could be a book in that Enkanomiya Library in which it says that there was a God travelling from world to world but lost their power because they weren't trying to kill the sustainer but the Sustainer got them trapped, if this was written somewhere then it will be so good, like imagine after Sneznaya we go back again to Enkanomiya for clues and we stumble upon one such book including info about traveller and the Primordial One

Unless ofcourse she could be a lesser form of istaroth. God of time....And being able to fly. If we look at the statue in inazuma it is portrayed that istaroth has wings. And we've only seen very little characters npc who has that ability.

I have a tiny little problem with the timeline… The fact that someone lied because is literally impossible. Traveler and Abyss Twin enter teyvat at the same time since they both travel together, They get stopped by the sustainer that removes their powers, Abyss twin does their journey and traveler wakes up 2 months before meeting paimon. Problem is… How does Traveler know about the abyss if they were asleep the entire time. Only way i can think of is that the sustainer trapped the Traveler in the abyss. But that means the sustainer is using abyss powers wich means the abyss and Celestia are in kahoots somehow? Again someone here dropped a massive lie.

I feel like Celestia no longer functions as one unit, you can see that not only did the twins do substantial damage to the infrastructure of Celestia, the thing is shattered, but the sustainer is the only celestial official we meet. The fact that you can find celestial pillars in dragonspine and the chasm but Celestia hasn’t bothered to retrieve them suggests that they can’t either by being too weak or there’s no one there who cares to maintain it. If I had to guess, I’d say that what remains of Celestia or at least what controls it doesn’t have Teyvat’s best interests in mind. Possibly even having the same outlook as the Tsaritsa as the ends justifying the means which is why the traveler continues to interfere. Any entity as powerful as the traveler wouldn’t have just stayed knocked out, releasing them separately may have been a deliberate ploy to not only conserve energy from having to keep them down but also so that they develop different views and take each other out. Just my two cents of course
@chriswinfrey3744

Alright here me out. I personally suspect the Traveler took 500 years to wake up because something happened that caused the Sustainer to lose all her power. It makes no sense to just suddenly be dropped off 500 years later after our sibling was sent down alongside our own weapon as a threat to them. Something happened that caused the sustainer to shrink into Paimon. These are key notes that cause me to suspect as much. 1: Paimon never denies she herself is a god but has no memories and no power. * We have encountered 2 Gods who suffered similar fates, one who still very much HAS power but not as much as she originally had. 2: We find Paimon by fishing her out of the water some time after we wake up. This could literally mean anything but this is here for context. 3: If something happened to the Sustainer's power as she still had us in her grasp... it could very well explain why WE were powerless when we woke up. Us being powerless fishing out a Powerless drained God out of the ocean. 4: It is also worth noting that the focus of the story is to FIND said Sustainer as well as our sibling. One has shown activity, the other has shown absolutely none despite the craziness. A part of me thinks it has something to do with the upside down statue... another part of me thinks something happened to the one in charge of the Sustainer. Either way it is also a fact that our sibling, although happy to see us was NOT SURPRISED we were up and about. This leads me to thinking whatever it was, the Abyss may have had a hand in. Now if we look squarely AT PAIMON... she has no stars in the sky to receive a reading from Mona... and nobody seems to question the Floating Fairy's existence. Despite having no memory, she knows Teyvat. And on an off note, Paimon looks like a baby version of Kiana from Honkai... while the Sustainer looks like the Herrscher of the Void. Simply put too many things are adding up for Paimon NOT to be the Sustainer and the whole 500 years thing seems to be as long as it took for someone to "free" us. That said I do not believe the Sustainer is evil. Paimon was attached to us from the moment we rescued her so maybe she wasn't the only one who lost her memory...?

(SPOILER) LEAKED VOICE LINE FROM NAHIDA Rough translations from chinese As Nahida is in a confrontation with Dottore, he demands the gnoses, however she says that "The heavenly principles have been dormant/sleeping for very long now (explains why Tsaritsa is planning her rebellion now) and that the gnoses are a sign of/an assertion of their power and control over Teyvat. But would the destruction of a gnosis be enough to get their attention?" So essentially Celestia is dormant, and that explains how Tsaritsa is able to do all her shenanigans without getting a nail as a present from Celestia. Another voice line (cannot be verified 100%) is that Rukkadehavata did not go Khaenri'ah. Will update this comment for accuracy when needed.

@@chriswinfrey3744 I also want to point out that even the archons as we know it arent even on the level of celestial gods themselves. One reason I can think of for why the twins weren't killed is similar to that of Zhongli and the ancient vortex god, for example the god of salt, despite being weak, was still a god, and being killed her power unleashed turning everything near into salt. Imagine Zhongli being killed. That's 20% of Liyue gone at the very minimum. What about the traveler? The traveler is said to be mortal, but being hundreds if not thousands of years old they must have some sort of power.
@chriswinfrey3744
@chriswinfrey3744 Год назад
@@randomdogem8 Are we... doing the Sustainer's job whilst she is powerless? If she is the bringer of balance and the protector of the Heavenly Principles... Everything we've been doing is something she would have taken care of were she capable of doing so. Now THERE is an interesting theory. Traveler being groomed into a new Sustainer. 🤔 As for why we weren't killed... I don't think that was even the Sustainer's goal. I found some tid bits and lore suggesting our twin was sent down right away to bare witness to the destruction of Khanri'ah and down with them went our weapon. 500 years passed and the Abyss only truly started acting in earnest when they didn't fear the Sustainer's wrath. Also take into account when our Abyss sibling saw us they weren't surprised we were free... You could say they were happy we were free... however they were also possibly happy that now they could go through with their plans in earnest knowing the Sustainer was out of the picture. So our imprisonment served to keep our twin in line. If they acted out in any way, they had us as a hostage which sounds pretty dirty... However after seeing what the Abyss does... there is WAY more to what went on then what we saw... That said the reason why I think we are being groomed into the new Sustainer is... we brought balance to 3 nations already. If the story continues like this we will also fulfill curing Urminsul saving Collei in the process. We also have a purifying aura that fights off Abyssal corruption... and we've been undoing much of the damage caused BY the abyss as we travel. It's also worthy of note that character's like Xiao are drawn to our Traveler simply due his/her aura that alleviates his suffering. There is a lot to think about as to what is beneath the surface of the game's story. XD

I didn't really think about it much even after Zhongli said what he said, but it is super interesting that the Siblings might be the only beings in Teyvat who are not bound by the Heavenly Principles ("aging" or erosion being one that they do not experience) I'll just accept it as anime logic, but it is weird that the Twins aren't gigabrains. They can remember their childhoods, but have also visited countless worlds. You'd think they'd be near-omniscient. Though could also be that they have to basically do what FuHua does in Honkai Impact (she hasn't lived very long, but she has literally perfect memory, so in essence it's the same thing) and reset their memory every once in a while. But that's just me nitpicking.

I still don't know why the twin will help the archons, since the only thing that is known is that the order will start the war again. but there is something clear Dainslief will turn against us.

I headcanon that the Travelers are _eons_ old, descendants of a long-living mystical magical being perhaps. They have lots of stamina (adventuring and farming with no rest 24/7 unless story mode), can adapt quickly (moreso to Lumine in elements based by animation, but to both of them in quickly learning the language of the locals to the point they sound like ones, if the people who differentiates them only by clothes are any indication), and keep the pretty youth looks for your chosen traveller to sleep for half a decade. And it's simply funny to think that they are older than the Archons, and disinterests me from shipping. Not that I don't like shipping, I understand some people like it, but this is a headcanon/AU that focuses and glorifies the fact that the twins are mysterious and old in our human standards.

So i'm thinking what if the first throne didn't take down the 2nd and instead they kill each other (that or the supreme authority of teyvat die during the cataclysm) , and now to keep teyvat from collapsing a new "outside being" has to take the throne that why the unknow god appear out of nowhere as a mean of extreme urgency (like a program )to keep the potentiel candidates to leave the game. And the unknow god act as an arbitrator who place the 'competitors' (the travelers) and by making them experience different sides of Teyvat want to see which vision will be worthy of taking the throne. yeah farfetch but this whole throne stuff make me think of that

I'll be honest the travelers lore is interesting but I really like diving into Paimon more.The symbol on her outfit really can give us an idea of what to expect! The symbol is called the Celtic Triquetra which means means "Three corned" literally and its a symbol of three interlaced arcs it's also said "The line is unbroken and never-ending and is said to represent many things, such as unity, protection, and everlasting life." however this does not apply to Paimon since hers is upside down which could make it more like say "The line is broken and will end, it represents separation , danger and end". It seems to be very negative more like a symbolism of that Paimon may be "evil" but I don't believe so "The line is broken and will end" could mean Paimon's current form is not permanent which would make sense if her powers are regained then she would most likely evolve into a stronger form to help us towards the end of defeating the Unknown god , "It represents, separation , danger and end" which could actually refer to the start of the story "separation" we get separated from our opposite twin "danger" the danger we will face in our travels and "end" thinking that the 500 years of sleep was death and the end of our travelers journey which could mean that the theory of the Unknown god wanted to end us but failed would make even more sense than before! There is also a version with a circle around it that means infinite connections but we haven't seen that yet but it's good to look out for!
