Then, that would make her the worst superhero ever. It's even worse that Captain Marvel wasn't around when the events of both Gaurdians of the Galaxy films were happening or when Thanos was already hunting for the infinity stones.

I think Fury thought that as long as he is there and he has the avengers , they'll be safe but he didn't know how many/if the avengers survived so , thinking there is a chance of no one surviving , not even him , she paged her . Plus she told him to only call if there's an extreme emergency and yeah , NY and Sokovia were pretty nasty but he had the avengers , and himself to help

The Percy Jackson & subsequent Heroes Of Olympus & Trials Of Apollo books are such a great read. Plus Rick Riordan has done a J. K. Rowling & written lots of little books that tie within that universe & flesh out the characters' backstories so if you're looking for a fun series, this is definitely it.

What about time frame? Carol doesn't actually get back to earth until what looks like at least days, if not weeks after Fury calls for her. He probably would have pushed the button if the Avengers had lost, but Danvers isn't a quick solution. She's really for repairing what's already been lost. If you rely on her to save the day, you'll just be waiting around while the bad guys beat you. Perhaps he even did call her each time, and then told her crisis averted a few hours later and she's just never been needed long enough for her to actually arrive.

I saw it as Captain Marvel is far away. All of the other things happened in a fairly short time frame. What help would she have been if she got there several months after the problem. He didn't know when pushing the button that it was just that one event. So maybe he would have pushed the button if the Aliens kept coming out of the portal when the battle of NY was over..

I also think that the most important criteria for Fury ist one simple question: would the even happening affect the rest of the universe? Because Avengers 1, Ultron and Winter soldier were all dangers to earth yes, but none of their actions would've affected the rest of the galaxy and universe. Carol is the defender of all the galaxies. Which means a threat only to earth is to small for her to be concerned. Proof of that is during endgame and the talk we see between tasha, rocket, carol and okoye. Rocket points out that Carol despite all her power has never helped out. She then replies "There are other galaxies in the universe that need help" (sorry if the wording is wrong it's been a while). That means that she protects other worlds and even other galaxies in outer space. Thanos is the only one threatenig half of the universe and therefore finally something to concern Carol.

Because he formed a group of highly powerful hero’s called the Avengers He only called for Marvel because he knew even the Avengers themselves could be dusted too OR because he himself couldn’t guide them like he had before.

Even imagining he pressed it before, as some think, you gotta remember what Nick Fury has seen of Captain Marvel's abilities, he's seen members of his team do just as well, if not better. Yes, she was still learning to fully control her powers to their limit, and after all of this time, has had some training, but I'd like to think him pressing the button was less like he's expecting her to be the 'big solution,' and more just 'Hey, we need all hands on deck.' I'd like to think that because if Captain MArvel is the solution to everything, it's a MAJOR cop-out, and besides Dr. Strange's plan couldn't possibly have involved her, and therefore there was still success without her if needed.

My guess is furry did call cap marvle in tgose events, but we see it takes her months to respond, so he likely sent an all clear page before she got to far from where she started.

this was a very good video but just 1 small problem in Age of Ultron Nick would not be safe in the helicarer if Sarkovia was dropped because the shock waves would knock it out of the sky like a bug and I haven't seen the movie in a while but I do believe if Sarkovia did drop it would have made a mass extinction event the size of the one that wiped out the Dinosaurs so that would be like several thousands of tonnes of TNT at least

No way the helicarrier survives the dropping of Sokovia. The dust/debris would clog the turbines (or just knocked it out of the sky) and if not that, would have blocked the sun for a significant period of time.

Does CM have any powers that enable her to know where some kind of energy originated from like a radar or something? I’m just asking since the snap happened all over the universe, wouldn’t she be a witness to everyone going to dust? If it was just the enemy it wouldn’t looked too weird for her, but most likely a bunch of her friends got dusted and probly figured and followed the energy to earth, and also the pager made her put 2 and 2 together.

i doubt he even called her, specifically because of the time it would take her to get back. there's no point in calling her in for anything that's going to be resolved, for better or worse, within a few hours.

Here’s another fact. The Kree were at war with the Nova Corps for a long time. That war had just ended as of the beginning of Guardians 1. It’s probable that Carol was involved in ending that war as well.

I think it isn't so much if FURY sees it as an emergency but if Captain Marvel sees it as an emergency. Half of the people around her would have faded too. If she saw that and also got a call from Fury, she would put 2 and 2 together and see the severity of the issue.

OR..... Capt Marvel is on the other side of the galaxy and can't be of any help in any of those other circumstances. She would have literally showed up a year to late to help out New York or any of the other messes. Seriously, watch the Capt Marvel end credits scene. It takes her a long time to show up. Furry hits the button after the snap with the hope she can show up eventually to help out with the huge mess left in the snap's wake.

maybe a year is a little too much but it could surely be weeks or even months, with such a mess and panic we saw at the end of iw it would take some time for people to get a hold of themselves and it would take a long time to determine and report the missing people, remember they said they had to hook the pager up to a bigger power source so it must have been days at least

the pager scene strongly implies that the others are second rate losers - when she gave Fury the pager she said that it was for 'real' emergencies - SO - two words - an adjective and a noun - "real' and 'emergencies' and of the two the word 'real' is more important because as an adjective it s a word that describes or clarifies a noun - so the word 'real' means 'important - so that means there are different types of emergencies - important ones and less important ones - what she meant was for Fury to use it for an important emergency - only - - but Fury realises that there might be less important emergencies but he can't call her - but he needs someone to take care of them none the less - so he sets up a team to take care of these less important situations - so that means that the others are less important than her - she is the first team and they are the second team - and then they lost so that makes them second rate losers - just two words and the whole thing is ruined

Actually no time table between Infinity War and Endgame is given. From the trailers and end scene, it is clear a good amount of time has past. Enough time that posters have been made, lost fliers have aged and people to be at the "move on" point in the grieving process. The pager being hooked up to another power source clearly means the pagers has been going for a long time. So how long? Well how long has it been since the last movie? That is the best guess as to how munch time has pasted.

in addition from Furys perspective Thor and Hulk are still MIA, and he (presumably) doesn't know about Doctor Strange, Ant man or the guardians, so from his perspective its really only the avengers lineup from Civil war that is publicly known/active, with team Cap on the run and Iron man also MIA. As far as fury knows everyone is randomly turning to dust so pulls out his last option.

You're looking too deep into why he didn't push the button before that point btw. He didn't push it before because the Avengers were there. Look at the situation as it actually is. A few years ago, the Avengers splintered. The two leaders fought and no longer speak or work together. Most of the members are scattered around the world in hiding or are completely inactive or MIA. The remaining known active members are Cap, Black Widow, Iron Man, War Machine, and Falcon. Scarlet Witch and Vision are in hiding, Hulk and Thor are MIA, Ant-Man and Hawkeye are on house arrest. Dr Strange isn't known to him or anyone else at this point aside from Thor. The Guardians are obviously not known to anyone either. Spiderman isn't considered an Avenger yet, and even if he was, he's a newbie without experience. Of the 5 remaining Avengers, War Machine works for the government and is basically not a functioning Avenger, Iron man is now missing, and the remaining 3 are among the WEAKEST of the team. Then, Fury learns there is an attack on Wakanda, which means Black Panther, and possibly whatever is left of the Avengers may well be involved and out of the picture. Then people start disappearing. This means the Avengers (few that are even an OPTION), if they're already involved, have already FAILED. That means he needs a bigger gun than even the Avengers. THAT is why he pushes the button.

He would have known what Thanos was planning. And as soon as he realized Thanos succeeded he paged her. But i like your theory to. It's more detailed and intriguing

Also another reason why he didn't call her before might be that she wouldn't make it in time anyway. Based on the midcredit scene in Captain Marvel I asume it took her at least a day probably a lot more to come. So in case of Ultron she probably wouldn't make it in time to stop Sokovia from falling so there was no reason to call her if she couldn't possibley have done anything ybout it anyway.

Originally Howard Stark (I believe) found the Tesseract when looking for Captain America. Mar-Vel was then the one who took it to her lab. I was confused about that too so I looked up to find a timelime. Captain America was found later, of course.

SHIELD had it for decades! Did you not see “Captain America: the First Avenger”? Howard Stark founded and since he was one of the founders of SHIELD he entrusted it with it along with all Capt. America and Hydra research that he and the U.S. military recovered after WWII.

When i asked my friend about this, he said that the actual year that the tesseract was found was never actually stated nor when cap was found. Its just assumed its the time of the movie. But wasnt the tesseract in asgard at somepoint?

What I understood was that after Stark found it he began Project Pegasus and entrusted Mar-Vell with the Tesseract, for whatever reason, which she used to create new tech. After Goose ate it he coughed it up on Fury's desk, he probably found it the next day and from then on it was under SHIELD's protection until the Avengers. Idk. This made me feel like I need to rewatch the entire franchise again to try and piece it together.

Another reason that I think he didn't call Carol in a few of the scenarios is time. Most of those scenarios would only be fixed if she was there immediately, but as the CM post-credits scene showed us, it took her a little while to get there. And as long as Nick Fury wasn't in immediate danger, then if things got worse, he could always call her when things got worse. She can win them the war, but she probably wouldn't be quick enough to win the battle.

I really love your analysis, but at the end of the day isn't it just a plot device to set up the Captain Marvel movie? Maybe I'm not enough of a geek, but I didn't even know what the symbol on the pager was when I saw Infinity War. To me, it would have been cooler to release CM before Infinity War. Then at least there would have been (for me) more excitement when he did press the button because I would know who was coming. Maybe I just need to read more comic books. :)
