WHY DIDN'T AEROSMITH WANT MEGADETH ON THEIR TOUR? 

Aerosmith was picking bands that had no chance of "stealing the show".

@@dannyfisher6681 my point being Megadeth is a metal band, Aerosmith a rock band that went a little pop at a point. I don't see them even having the same fan base. That's kinda like Slayer opening for the Stones or something

@Silver Stacker I have to be honest, I'm burned out on several classic bands, lots of them lost their edge due to money and age. Aerosmith being just one.

@Silver Stacker well that's because of money, most old bands or surviving members of old bands refuse to stop even at risk of embarrassing themselves and destroying the past legacy of the band because at least the name still draws money

I'd kill to see Aerosmith after Megadeth in their primes. Both are fantastic bands with plenty of great tunes.

I saw both in concert, and they were both great in their own way. When I saw Aerosmith, Guns n Roses opened. I was expecting Aerosmith to be blown off the stage but overall they put on a better show than Guns. Slash was the best guy out of both bands though. Megadeth/Aerosmith would have been a great double bill.

But imagine seeing Pantera, Megadeth, and White Zombie

Marketing: coutdown to extinction was the first not so heavy Megadeth album, and they wanted to promote it to a larger audiance...

It's not that odd of a pairing. It's not like Aerosmith were taking out Sepultura or Exodus. Megadeth were all over mainstream radio after Countdown. There's plenty of older dudes who grew up on both 70's hard rock and 80's thrash metal. Maybe back in the early 90's fans were more close-minded...

@@Taylor.Dude. Disagree, they have quite a lot of good songs. I think they only have a few with chainsaw, The Lumberjack, Billy Badass, and Locked and Loaded.

Very cool movie. So many amazing scenes. Ozzy trying to make breakfast. Megadeth in the studio. The bass player of WASP pouring vodka all over his face. The bikini contest. and many more.

Wrong. Pantera was Badass. That's why they didnt wanna tour with them. They preffered being the 'heavy' act next to Aero. But then mustaine fucked up. Him being him. Again... How can a so called christian band can be badass?? Haha pleeeease. They ar soo tasteless it breaks my heart

@@a.m8878 well, th 2 Daves weren't Christians then, Mustaine was just trying to deal w/sobriety @ that point. From personal experience I can attest its a weird existence ( & boring ) to be sober after being fkd up for a few decades.

He always acts as a jerk. I guess it's because he was bullied when he was a child so he tries to be "tough" and became a bully himself.

@@SS-gn1wj I disagree with that. To different genres.. Two different fan bases with two different attitudes. I've seen both Megadeth and Aerosmith live on separate occasions .. And I can tell you that when I saw Aerosmith.. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry completely owned the stage.. their stage presence was magical.. And the rest of the band were terrific.. Not something I think Megadeth can actually compare to.. Or live up to onstage. When I saw Megadeth I thought they were good.. But Aerosmith were incredible. Apples and oranges. I'd be reluctant to see Megadeth again. However I'd love to see Aerosmith again. I'd prefer to spend my money on Aerosmith. It's ironic.. As when I saw Aerosmith.. I turned up without a ticket.. And outside the festival these two people came up to me and said.. Do you want this ticket.. Free.. Here you go.. Ohh Thanks. I saw Van Halen with David Lee Roth the same day.. DLR owned the stage as well.

@@SS-gn1wj I have thought further about this and have given it much careful thought in regard of Megadeth live. You said before "greatest show" So I have taken examination and consideration upon this. Before I said they were good live. Hmmmm.. I had to Re think about that. They were.. Ok. I just watched some well filmed footage from a few weeks ago.. One where there was just one camera angle which was ideal. Can't stand those pro shot things where the camera angle changes every three seconds. So this was one camera angle. I felt underwhelmed. I need more from a concert. I imagined myself there and I was able to do that because of the camera angle and I thought.. I wouldn't be interested enough to watch the whole gig live and I have never been overly impressed by a Megadeth concert anyway. Now.. I love the Megadeth albums.. Think most of them are terrific.. Except Rust in peace.. I do not like that album at all. So.. No.. I would not see Megadeth live again.. Just not interested enough. In regard of whom I would see live.. Well.. I was very impressed by the live footage I saw of the recent Poison concert.. Incredible. Brett Michaels carry's that band.. However.. In saying that.. CC Deville is terrific as well as the rest of the band.. They are a great unit. Really terrific performance full of charisma.. Brett Michaels is just a very charismatic frontman. But yes.. I thought I would relate these points.

I mean sure it may not be as insane as Slayer but they damn sure had some heavy songs back in their prime. I didn't say they were THE heaviest thrash band, I said one of the heaviest. I mean Exodus was certainly heavy but I always preferred Megadeath cause they were more technically proficient and more melodic while still being heavy.

So because Megadeth is a heavy band, they'd blow Aerosmith outta the water? I mean there's more to it than how fast or aggressive a band can play. And that's not to smack talk Megadeth (they're great), but Dave is absolutely not gonna drive over Joe Perry. They're both excellent guitarists with a different style. Joe Perry's hard blues rock is just as good as Dave's thrash metal sound.

@John Williams lots of choruses through Get A Grip, plus this was their first album with 3 crying ballads (Cryin, Crazy & Amazing). They dumped my favorite song, a rocker ("Don't Stop") probably because it was a macho anthem and radio stations weren't playing that anymore. They won a Grammy for Livin' On The Edge because it taught the youth what their life was gonna be like: they are gonna be living on the edge, cause they're working their lives away as economic engines for the economy, rather than taking care of the needs of society, sort of like how "Live And Let Die" by Paul McCartney (and remade by GnR) earned a Grammy for teaching the youth the same exact thing: "your gonna live (go to work and make money so you can buy consumer goods) but your not going to spend time taking care of the needs of society. Get A Grip is a great album, but it's definitely not macho rock.. it's pop rock. compare GaG to Done With Mirrors (zero choruses, zero crying ballads, all macho rock) ...still Get A Grip is way way more macho than Music From Another Dimension... their last album is 100% testosterone free, all marshmallows and goat cheese

Depends a little bit what your taste is I guess. I love megadeth, they are faster, better technique, but are not as good songwriters imo. Whatever floats your boat. I lean more to blues and rock n roll and value saying as much with 1 note vs using 1200. I think Aerosmith would probably know how good Megadeth was musically, speedwise and technical before they ask them on tour.

Toxic Twins was a 70s thing. Arosmith put out 7 (a lot!) really good heavy rock records and wrote themselves out. Then they started hiring songwriters and found a new audience of young people in the 90s w pop ballad trax like "Fallin" and others

@@boroughmanager7067 Not in my case, Dave even complained about sound at every show I've attended, which was odd because other bands on the bill those nights sounded fine. I haven't seen them since 2004 though.

Megadeth are not that extreme of a thrash metal band. Probably the most accessible to fans outside the genre. Many older dudes who grew up on 70's hard rock also like metal (Megadeth, Metallica, Pantera, etc...). It's all about the riff... People who talk shlt on mainstream bands only know their radio hits. Yeah if all I knew from Aerosmith was their hits I would think they suck too. They had a lot of good shit in the 70's. Many thrash bands were fans of old Aerosmith.

Fuuuuuck Kiss. I knew they were a clowncar when I first saw them back in the 80's. At least they're consistent, I'll give them that.

megadeth and aerosmith are both amazing bands :) and theyve written some legendary and kickass fucking tunes.

Nah, Aerosmith didn't suck at this time, they just couldn't hack it professionally any longer, songwriting wise. Most of the record buying people didn't know or care about the outside writers so the paint-by-numbers stuff became what the band was. It got far worse in later years....🤣
