JW kids typically aren’t allowed to have friends outside of their church. Could imagine him being bullied at school for not living life like everyone else 😓. Goes to show the difference between worshipping Christ VS worshipping the Cult that claims to be the true source 👎🏼.
God never fails no one. We should not tempt God. God ways are different than our ways death is not a lost is Just a healing its a travel to a better place , if you believe you gonna go and be with God and with God is so much better. Death is also healing if you are a believer. To be with God is better than to live in earth.
I'm a die-hard Metallica girl, but if I could see Dave now and he was telling me all of this, the first thing I would do is give him an enormous hug and tell him that none of it was his fault. No one deserves to be raised like he was. He really needs empathy and love in this interview, I can see it in his eyes. I'm happy to see how he has continued to push on after all he's been through. ❤
The Cult hired Rick Rubin for 1 album. The Cult disliked 👎 him. Then, they hired Bob Rock. He was the right ✅ producer according to The Cult. Total opposite for Lars Ulrich.
Rick Rubian was a fraud. Ulrich was just trying in this interview to please the little warner bros universe, but they would never again work with this guy. The production on Death Magnetic wasn't good and Rubin (a Rap music producer) didn't have anything to propose them for assistance during the recording like Bob Rock did. I'm pretty convinced that it's due to the Rubin experience that they decided to found their own label...
I think Layne was just joking about learning from Tom, like "if I suck at playing guitar, its beause my buddy taught me everything I know, so blame him."
And then they brick walled the album, making it a pain to listen to and then _lied_ to us that they didn't have an 'un-pinned' master they could use to compensate everyone that bought the distorted (amazingly for the vinyl) release. But there is a great sounding version: Get your hands on the Guitar Hero tracks as I did. SO much better and natural sounding.
Why is this even a question? No he didnt play guitar at all. This is all a figment of your imagination. As matter of fact, Layne Staley never existed. Or did he??
Bob Rock: "Okay, I want you to try again. This time, do it more like this. Try singing at a lower octave, you won't blow your voice out. Try having the bass follow the drums a bit more so it doesn't get drowned out by the guitars. Hey, don't throw that riff out, I think you can do something with that." Rick Rubin: "L O U D"
I can understand Dave a great deal. Week in & out I was dragged off to the Kingdom Hall, to weekly ( or even more frequent ) ‘ Bible study ‘ sessions, study sessions based on either or both of the group’s main magazines, conventions,..and on and on it went. And the ‘ sermons ‘ ! I recall little to nothing that was anything but threatening, snide, judgemental, scathing, and ignorant in equal measure. Mind you, I did love some of the literature,..as it did provide me with a superb education on not only scriptural history / exegesis, but, vast swathes of ancient history that had already long been purged from secular education. What finally appalled me enough to insist on withdrawing from it all was the dreadful, appalling rant an ancient ghoul of a man delivered about something he knew literally nothing about,..rock & pop music. I was incensed. But ! Let’s not forget some crucial things that ARE commendable about them ! They refused unreservedly to serve Hitler’s Reich, or any military - friendly state at all, for that matter, and died by the bushel in Nazi death camps, displaying such fortitude when faced with beheading, hanging, etc., that Himmler himself was impressed enough to consider ending their suffering by shipping them all to the Ukraine & Crimea as sort of ‘vanguard Aryan ‘ settler colonialists . Not to mention the fact that George Benson, Hank Marvin, and the late Prince were / are all devout members.
This is hilarious. Bands were putting out similar music already. Dave did nothing unique. He just copied what was popular. At least Metallica tried something a bit different. And Dave would trash this album years later. He's such a liar. If only someone wrote a song that describes him.. Ohh wait..
Modern day con artist, who just hops on to albums from people who either his intel has informed him are up and coming, or are already established bands and he gets the big credit. No one can change my mind.
I usually like bands who have different sounds throughout different albums, I appreciate how Dave tried to make something new! I actually don't hate Risk, it's just very different than what they "usually" sound like.
