@Ozymandias The Misanthrope Most grunge bands had a couple good songs, but most of them were lyrical garbage with no sense of metaphors, innuendo, subtleties, or even basic theme.

Grunge sucked there was just a few songs that was ok

yeahh it used to be cool though. And byu that I mean, the people considered "cool people" by and large liked MTV. The hipster, edgy "I hate anything big and popular" mindset was hardly even a thing. This was all before everything mainstream was uncool to like lol, and a TV station could be considered cool. Looking back, with today's mindset, it seems uncool but at the time people weren't as particular and the popular thing and the cool thing were often the same, and music was made for music lovers, not for the most people possible, as it is today, so MTV played all the cool shit. Becoming more of a corporation than a channel for music is probably what killed them.

Mustain's vocal peak was a big hill at best, compared to the vocal mountains of his contemporaries. It served his music perfectly well, and has an interesting tone, but Mustain's singing was never great in my opinion. Technically especially, but it has it's charms for sure.

@Ozymandias The Misanthrope I never considered Soundgarden a grunge band really, I mean they have some songs that sound remarkably close to what Black Sabbath was doing around the Sabotage Era really , you could easily hear Ozzys voice over quite a few tunes they did and their musicianship was top notch, I have absolutely no hate for this band only love. This is a metal band in my opinion and really the only one I go back and listen to with sabbath ,maiden rush and thrash. Hendrix cream deep purple rainbow scorps nwobm etc you get the picture

You should try listening to Pearl Jam tho. It doesn’t really feel like shitty Nirvana. If you can get past the few times Eddie mumbles it’s some pretty damn good rock.

I just listened to the songs, and they spoke to me like nothing else could. If I ever get to meet them, I would like to thank them for me being alive today.😎
