probably the first time that Lynx Super has been poured into a glass!

I drink 8 cans of this then piss myself, shout incoherently at passers by in a aggressive manner then pass out. All in all a bloody good day out.

Anything 7.5 is usually cider territory. 8.5 is minimum tramp juice for me, an example being Oranjeboom. I can get Karpackie 500mls (Polish) 9% £1.50 at a shop in Bury. 2 of them takes the pain of life away.

I used to enjoy the occasional Special Brew for many years (beginning in the early 80s) but drank my last one when Carlsberg’s arse went and they reduced the ABV, under pressure from a bunch of fannies.

My wife calls them ‘EBs’: Evil Brews. I got into liking Carlsberg SB around the time of The Battle of the Beanfield and the last free summer festival scene… there was a bunch called the Brew Crew at that time. The reason ppl drank them was purely for effect: it’s the cheapest bang for your buck. We all experimented with various substances but it was these brews that stuck. I lost two good friends. Not through the usual drug abuse, although one ended up on methadone, but it was the drink that killed them. They’d moved onto Skol Super, as it was the cheapest, and one of the strongest. One friend was found dead in his grandfathers old flat (spleen exploded) and he was drinking big bottles of StrongbowRed, which rips your innerds out. It was all very sad. I’ve cut down massively from what used to be a daily intake, but still enjoy the occasional chilled Carlsberg. I’m subscribed to your channel because i was curious to find out what quality beer is all about… i don’t think the addition of glucose syrup helps the flavour, but it’s a major ingredient in many of these cheap high strength beers. They’re certainly mood altering beverages which can take hold after just one can, but i found that, generally speaking & dependent on the drink, alcohol just makes ppl violent (ok, gin makes ppl weep). Everything in moderation is my moto these days.

Used to get 8 cans of yellow lynx for 4.50 20 year ago and hit the green benches lol

When I was around 18 I bought four cans of Special Brew which had 25% extra free. That's Special Brew when it wasn't dumbed down for the Nanny State. I drank the four cans at a mates house and I never touched the stuff ever again..the walk home was messy to say the least.

As a recent subscriber to the channel it’s made me aware of the practices of the UK major brewers and the plethora of other beers that there out there, including ones to give a miss.

My best pal and I used to make a 'cocktail' each for our Saturday night bus journey to our favourite haunt: 1 x Can of Special Brew 1 x Small Thunderbird Blue It was known as 'Steely' and by the time we got off the bus, we'd be well-lubed and ready for a night's action. Great days.❤

Recently found your videos as it's summer and I'm wanting to drink lager more. But can anyone explain wtf is going on with lager in the UK these days? It all seems to have been messed about with. I've been trying to find a good quality, reasonably strong lager and am getting nowhere. At the extreme end of the scale I remember Carlsberg Special Brew years ago was a nice drop if properly chilled. Stella Artois, also had quite a kick and was lovely in the 90's, and then Becks was my go to. It all seems like they're changing the recpies or the abv's for some reason and the quality isn't the same. Any recommendations fot good quality lager in the UK?

If you're going to cover the "King Rat" of tramp juice, dare you taste the ultimate? Yes... I'm talking about Frosty Jacks "apple flavourer" alchopop. It pretends to be a cider but dear god... Anyway, would love to see if you can even stomach it. Crazy thing is, it is so sweet and has strong apple flavourings that it is not unpleasant immediately on the first taste as long as it is chilled. However, it is nutter juice and I cast my gauntlet at your feet and ask that you give this foul crap the damning review it deserves. It's like White Lightning's crazier dumber brother turning up in your guts with a chainsaw. They've recently tried to rebrand the image as a kind of Babycham for the 2020s (hahaha) as it's price has gone up massively (used to be £7 for 2 x 3 litres at 7%) so it may be out of favour with the local alkie community now. I guess a review would be in order, and perhaps you could do one specially for all your tramp supporters and viewers, recommending the best alcoholic coma inducing value for money booze on the market 😂😂😂😂 Frosty Jacks - the myth, the legend, the blackouts, the police cells...

I remember a 'chat' with a well know brewery rep at a university job fair, the target audience for thsese beverages were refered to as 'urban drinkers'

I recall buying a case of that years ago....I think it was higher than 7.5% then though. And....It was utterly horrific!!! It just had this aroma of greasy, dirty, slightly burnt tyres, massively over carbonated that bizarrely dissipated within hundredths of a second to become this alcoholic syrup like effort. Pure ghastliness in a tin.

Crazy to think you could get drunk on £3.98 these days. Sad that breweries are targeting people with alcohol problems and contributing to their demise. On a positive note though glad most drinkers don’t fall into this trap. As I type I have my Lost Lager in my PD keg chilling as well as 12 500ml bottles of Tuskar chilling in the fridge. My lord I love a Saturday. 🍺

The snobbery of ABV continues, as though people who drink 5% ABV are virtuous, and those that drink 7.5 ABV are tramps.

I remember a 500ml canned 'super' lager called 'FORCE 10', It was in a lilac/purple can, had no ingredients list, and was 10%abv. Far more sickly and sweet than Tennents Super, and total knock out juice. Does anyone else remember it, around mid-late 90s? I once drank 6 cans, and woke up in park with somebody else's blood on me and no wallet.

have you tried Carlesberg special brew yet? its also 7.5% its got a strange taste some say it tastes like perfume but 3 -4 cans will put a man on the floor! it may as well be beer mixed with whiskey, you dont drink it for the taste you drink it to escape life. Not all vegans are choosing a vegan diet for health reasons if anything vegan diet is unhealthy! lab grown meat cant be good for us, no we choose to go vegan for the animals its not about us its about them. YEP you just read a vegan say the diet they on is not a health choice.

Do a special brew or a kestrel super strength in the next one 😅 They’re probably close to £4 a can now days 😅 use to be 99p per can 20 years ago.

Does 7% abv really qualify as "Tramp Juice"? Here in America we have something called Four Loco, which run up to 14% abv, are relatively cheap, and are flavored malt beverages, those qualify as Tramp Juice, here we say Bum Juice, my opinion.

Luminous nights from lidl is a similar price and strength. If you're gonna neck beer to get smashed, why not do it with a delicious beer instead?

When I first started drinking I used to really enjoy a can of Hoffmeister super with my dinner on a Friday night after a week of school. I would only have the one can, and it was refreshing and had plenty of body... I felt pretty relaxed after that.

Tennent's Super is a Scottish "tramp juice" which is sold in Italy in the fridges next to the other super bock's. It's highly regarded there, despite being tramp juice here!

In the 90's being short of money as was everybody my treat was four cans of standard Lynx a week. Mrs bought the supra one week for me. Taste like paint stripper with sugar in. So put it in the freezer. Drank all four cans at same speed which had to anyway as the longer it sat the worse it tasted. Got up for a piss and fell over ! Leave well alone !

I remember trying EKU28 in the 80’s. My landlord (I worked in the best pub in N Wales) got some in to try and I tried it along with my brother. (1/2 bottle each) It was like drinking beer with cheap vodka in it. 🤢 I’ve just checked and it say 11% ABV but I honestly thought is was madder than that. Give it a go. 🍺 It’s like the beer equivalent of the Carolina Reaper Challenge. 😂 Edit: OMG, you’ve had it already. I’m watching next. 😂

I don't understand it, if your primary concern is high ABV there are plenty of high ABV ciders for around £2 that are actually really nice e.g Westsons

I like the combination of review types you are now doing on the channel, there's the lagers and craft from around the world, which I find interesting, craft you can buy in supermarkets...and these 'joke' beers, this one looks terrible!

At the time it was a bookers own brand so they could price the can for shop retailers.. I unfortunately I think they have stopped this product.
