Fun fact: Lichtenstein and Haiti also had the same flag, they only realized it when they both came to the Olympic Games for the first time. Lichtenstein added a crown to the top left and Haiti a coat of arms in the center.

Most Africans colonis where money sinks. The African empirlism was mostly a dick mejaring contest .after the 2 world wars Europe couldn't afford this money sink
Well some morals at least. If it was the Nazis or the ancient Romans or another ancient kingdom if the people rebelled they would have just killed/sold as slaves and replaced the civilian population with their own people. But the french didn't want to be so bad to just genocide the locals even if historically that is the most obvious solution. Like the Romans did with Carthage and Judea.
Indeed. To tell the truth most Africans colonies where money sinks. While it gave some resources wen it was fine putting locals in deplorable conditions it became far too expensive when you couldnt abbuse them like that. French and brits and a few others never felt like sinking much money into them so they washed their hands clean pretty fast once it became apparent just how much of the money sinks those colonies were.
I read about some link with Spain as well, but it was quite some years back. Can't remember where. It was mentioned as speculation of the link with Spanish knights and there were some variations to the assumptions as follows: 1 some lineage related to Spanish nobility of the local boyars, 2 usage of the colors following support provided to Spanish knights in combat; cant remember specifics on this. Anyway, the 1st documentation of the local flags is probably in Wijnbergen armoire catalogue, subsequently used in the Portuguese armory Livro do Armeiro-Mor, if you want to see how the Wallachian flag looked like.
You are all wrong. The red is for brotherhood, the yellow is for justice, and the blue for liberty. I don't know how you could get it this wrong. Especially if you are a Romanian.

Romania and Moldova are essentially the same country we both speak Romanian and our currency is Leu, maybe one day we can unite again in the greater Romania.
@Dragon Of The West I already imagine how politicians in Romania sat at a table and they were like "hmmm... what flag from mighty subsaharan Africa shoud we copy, guys?" 😂
Clearly, Chad had the flag design first. Romania only got the design after it dropped the logo. They should replace the logo with something else instead of just using Chad flag. Romania dares not to do that if Chad were a strong nation.

Here is something you forgot to Mention,Mihai "The brave" as he was called actually united romania with wallachia, transilvaynia, and moldavia all at once,he was extremly influential in the region and fought 3 Massive major powers of the time like the ottomans, austrians, and polish and managed to score alot of wins,so yea he is not just a guy who rule 1/3 of the country and loved some colors,he was a genius at warfare and united romania 300 years before it officaly became a proper kingdom
In conclusion, Romania had it first and we should have copyrighted it. Moldova can keep it though since we are basically the same country, just split in two.

If he had pronounced it the way an Eastern European would, let’s say a Polish, he would have gotten the pronunciation near to correct. But because he tried to pronounce it in a more “Romance language” way, or was too English to realise any other pronunciation, he messed up the pronunciation and got it wrong

Technically Luxemburg has almost the same flag as the netherlands, except that the Luxemburg one looks like dutch flag but colors became lighter because being left in the sun for years Luxemburg: 🇱🇺 The netherlands: 🇳🇱
6:36 that's not what happened. Romania was non-aligned, but guaranteed by France. When France fell in 1940, the guarantor was gone and according to the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, USSR issued an ultimatum to give up Moldova to Romania. The Romanians obliged as they saw no other choice (Soviet actually expected they'd have to invade). This kind of pressure was one of the reasons the Romanians joined the Axis powers to try and take back Moldova (as well as take some more). The occupation was kind of "legitimized" after WW2 tho.
@@oli2879 Checked the Urban Dictionary and got: The region between the balls and the arse-hole; can be an erogenous zone for some. So no God there - that's for sure. Homophobic jerry - joke?
Well, i always thought that the colors are a sheer coincidence, and ultimately it still kinda is, but the fact that the french had a more or less direct influence over the 2 flags makes sense. France had a huge cultural influnece over Romania in the 19th century, Bucharest got the nickname little paris and we have our own arc de triomphe
A correction: Bessarabia (today's Moldova) got annexed by Russia in 1812, not 1878. In 1878 Russo-Turkish war happened and the United Principalities got Northern Dobrudja from Turkey in exchange for Southern Bessarabia (Budjak) which got transferred back to Russia (it was formerly obtained by the United Principalities in 1856 following the Crimean War, from Russia).
4:41 lmao that never happened. Decolonisation almost entirely happened because of widescale rebellions in colonies and diplomatic pressure from USSR and USA. They decided that ruling the colonies with the façade of giving them independence was more economically viable so they did just that. Almost all of West Africa is still under French imperialism. The only nation that really broke away from France properly was Algeria whose population was genocided by the French. Now the same French wish for another genocide for the people who ran away from the countries they have kept in extreme poverty to get rich themselves. The French left wishes for the same imperialist system to continiue while the French right are more honest in what they want which is an expansion of French imperialism and a genocide on migrants. I truly wish Zemmour wins so he can break the back of France and cause a civil war.
Obviously like even in history books its said that they rebelled and not out of France or Uk good will atleast in my books because im from Poland they problaby teach the French and British kids that there werent any atrocieties commited by them in thier colonies.
@@АлексейТабаков-ы8в Zemmour who is the main candidate facing Macron right now is actively calling for the extermination of all migrants in France, he has a ton of videos praising French imperialism. The irony is he himself is a jew from Algeria whose family had to migrate to France because of the extreme poverty of Algeria under French enslavement. He has zero self awareness. There is a very large chance he will win the election this year. His proposed deportation and ethnic cleansing are literally impossible to achieve in a liberal democracy so he will most likely thrust France into chaos if he gets elected, which is a good thing in my book. He is basically Trump on neo-nazi steroids and not even a fringe candidate, literally winning in polls.
Algeria wasn't genocided they've had good population growth since. A true genocide would be them never recovering/increasing population integrity. I think the French right wants to recover/return the French demographic profile, which means they just don't want people from West Africa in their country, not that they want to genocide/imperialize. I think it's more likely that Macron or Le Pen will win, tho of course Zemmour agrees decently with Le Pen. Zemmour will have to get better economic and environmental policies to win. The French left wants a more international "mixed" goal ultimately, although there's a lack of cohesion and good amount of disagreement I don't think either the French right or French left want to truly increase imperialism. You said it yourself that you wish for a civil war.

Only during the Romanisation of Romania. Not necessarily a bad thing, but deleted works of Romanian history just because France was big and Romania was apparently “too Slavic”. As a Slav myself, although I see why Romania would want to go through the Romanisation, but it wasn’t necessary.
@@cerebrummaximus3762 Well. Romanians wanted to be Latin like their ancestors, The Romans. Even the name of Romania means in Latin, The citizens of Rome " Furthermore, because the language is Latin by origin, the Western countries see Romania as a cousin in the Slavic ocean" The relationship between Romania and France was different from the other countries in the video. Romania sees France as a big sister, not a colonial power and it's logic why they wanted France influence.
