Messi is definitely more consistent and has been better in more seasons, but declaring someone as the best player ever should make clear wether you mean “he’s been at the top 3 most of the time” or “in his best seasons he was the best player ever”. Imo Ronaldo in his best seasons was better and more fun to watch than Messi in his best seasons, but there were more seasons where Messi played better. Messi’s peak was still below Ronaldo’s peak though. Ronaldo also used to be more consistent when it comes to striking a goal in the 9 years he’s played for Madrid. I know that goals aren’t the only factor for the ballon d’or though.

And when Ronaldo was at real madrid I watched also pretty much all of his matches, and a fair amount of the other matches he played in too. You don't have to agree with me, but assuming I didn't watch enough matches of them to make this kind of arguement is weird, considering you don't know me in the slightest.
