People need to stop trying to compare this game to WoW or other MMORPG and understand that it's not meant to be like those games. It's really aiming more for an MMO Stardew Valley kinda experience. It's like complaining because your screwdriver is terrible at hammering...

I’m so deep into cozy gaming RU-vid that I had no idea people didn’t like Palia. My side of RU-vid is loving it. I think they oversold it though because I finally started playing and I’m kind of meh about it now. But, I’m going to stick with it because it’s in the early phases and I feel like it can only get better from here.

I am an old timer here. I have been playing video games since the Atari days (and some of you probably weren't even born yet) when my daughter was 10 yrs old, now she's 49 and I'm still playing video games. I have played all sorts mmorpg games, mmo games and solo player games. I was a long time player of WoW and Diablo when they first hit the market, as well as LOTR, Guild Wars, Archage, Neverwinter, Warhammer, Ultima Online and so many others that I can't even begin to remember. I've done all that killing of monsters, running raids through all those dungeons and etc. But Palia is different, I love the soothing atmosphere and not have to worry about how high I have to have my toon lvl'd in order to participate with guilds to join those raids. I love the crafting aspect of the game, I love interacting with all the other players who are enjoying Palia as much as I am. Singularity 6 has finally made an mmo for us older ppl who, an younger too, just want a nice relaxing game where you don't have to worry about when is the next raid or what guild is fighting who in pvp.

If you are a filthy casual in any MMO then this is the game for you. No gear to stress over, no stats to worry about. No PvP, zero combat what-so-ever. This is a great game if none of that floats your boat. If you truly want to be casual when gaming and have a relaxing experience instead of chasing gear and optimizing stats, and always being told your gear/DPS STILL sucks and you don't have this or that achievement, this is YOUR GAME. No dungeons, no raids. No guilds with crappy officers and GMs. So casual and realxing. I have been playing WoW for 14 years and still do, but THIS is my chill and relax game. This just might by my WoW killer, not even gonna lie. For me, Palia solves every problem I HATE about World of Warcraft and similar games. Trust me, I have played a lot of them. It has almost all of the features I like INCLUDING customizable player housing, but none of what I don't like.

I don't play MMO games because I prefer solo play for the most part plus I've heard about the toxicity on most of them that I don't want to experience it. Probably the only MMO I've ever played was Uru Online which is mostly solo play anyways. I'll consider PvE but won't play PvP. I love Palia for exactly the reasons others don't like it, I can play solo for 99% of the time and ask for help only when I need it. I wasn't expecting more than that. It's exactly what I wanted and needed. I don't want more combat and am looking forward to content as it is added and we can interact more with our stuff (sitting, sleeping, etc.). The premium shop is definitely way overpriced, I don't mind running or gliding everywhere, and I'm taking my time to just enjoy the experience.

This hits the naill on the head for me. I don't race around all over, I take my time, and believe me, it's worth it. I love the music that plays in the background, and enjoy the sunrises and sunsets in this game. I level my skills as I want, and don't feel the need to rush, rush, rush. The game is sort of cartoonish, but in a good way. I am hoping that the devs will get us sitting and sleeping sometime soon. But overall, this game is great! I hope I can anticipate playing this game for many years ahead.

I have been playing games since the early 80's even before Nintendo first came out and been modding games since Doom (1993). I love playing by myself and I am not a desperate loser who has to badly have friends in life because it is stupid to hear grown adults always complaining if they have to play by themselves lol Like this is not high school... Most of these Goofs are just upset that they cannot be a Troll to other players who need them to beat a quest or level... Look at how many times you see in the chat about the Flow Tree that people would get annoyed that they have to wait for others to cut a tree. I purposely upgraded my axe so fast first just so I could cut the small and meduim Flow Tree by myself.

As a player who started with MMOs and is now enjoying more of a cozy gaming experience as I get older, I feel like I am the target audience for Palia. So far, I love that I can play the game at my own pace and not have to power level to experience end game content or keep up with some guild requirements. That being said, I do agree that the mmo aspects of the game do need more fleshing out and the world feels small so far. I personally would not mind the addition of a few optional dungeons with some monsters to kill just to liven things up.

I would love a palia version of open world bosses. Like a big walking hulking beast that heals like the flow-trees, and you need a lot of people to wear it down, and maybe it would help to get both slow and magic dispel on it as you try to wear it down :) Of course, it doesnt really defend itself, so it'd be just a whole new level of the strategy already used by he animals :)

I really feel like that will be eventually released. Everyone is just moving through the pacing too fast. Sifuu talks about weapons, shields, armor. Elouisa talks bout a museum. Others mention the mysterious Order and other cities. I just think this is beta. A very important beta as the game is still pretty buggy. Let them work out the kinks and be patient for what may come later. As someone who too 8 years to 100 percent stardew, I mesh really well with this game. I have a job, kids, family stuff. I don't have time for an mmo rat race. Metas. Guild drama. Let's just sit back and relax folks.

"Palia is a gorgeous, cozy world that’s constantly evolving and features deep customization systems, a compelling cast of non-playable characters, and a robust Neighborhood system that allows players to forge communities of their own." "Palia also offers a robust set of character creation options that allow players to show off their unique style and creativity. This includes a diverse set of face and skin tone options, hairstyles that can go on any character, and a flexible fashion system. Players can mix and match different components, customize colors and patterns, and save their favorite outfits. So whether they want to be an award winning cook, or the best gardener in the world, it’s all up to them." "The game gives players the chance to be part of a global community of gamers as they collaborate, explore and progress." - GeekTyrant, 2021 There are no deep customization systems, there is no robust neighborhood system, you can't really mix and match components of outfits, you cannot choose their patterns, you can choose a color but can't customize it, and you can't save outfits. You can barely collaborate with players to explore, but you can't really help each other progress. People online aren't mad because they are MMO fans brought to the game by MMO expectations. They are mad because they were fans of the idea that S6 built up for them over the years who were hit by the reality of what they actually had to show for their $50 million budget and 5 years of work.

A big thing people are ignoring is that this is an actual development beta. This is not an early release of a full game. They created the bare minimum functional program and are adding the rest of the content and features on a TWO WEEK content patch cadence. What other game has new content every two weeks? We're one week into the open beta and they've already added new content. And there's been talk that some zones, like major cities, will probably have a higher cap on number of players in the instance, which makes sense because those areas are going to be more heavily social. I thought it was a weird choice at first but I am liking not having hundreds of people competing for the same limited resources in the starter areas. People need to moderate their expectations to match the fact that what we are doing currently is playtesting the starter zones. It's like someone zoning into Ammen Vale (WoW) and doing a couple quests there and complaining that there's no endgame in that valley.

Should have called it a SMO = Small Multiplayer Online That way, you don’t confuse the players that, for the most part, pretty well know what an MMO should be like, Massive. Take the studio behind Book of Travels for example. They said their game was a TMORPG witch stand for Tiny Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. The results are incredible, No Backlash! 😅

so in order to have someone visit your home: 1 you must be at your home 2 there is a blue board by the exit that you need to click on and then you can choose whose home to visit, you must also allow them permission to visit by using the h button and clicking the icon next to where your house name is aka default house/lot I had my hubby visit for the first tiem the other night and we did some cooking together, you can also go water the crops of your friends, I'm sure there will be much more in the future, and frankly i am glad they are rolling it all out slowly to check for bugs and to just let people get used to the newer functions. I personally LOVE this game, and get so relaxed in it i dont see the time fly by. as a person with social anxiety adn depression it is actually helping me cope with my depression quite a bit, the music the colors, and running about all very soothing for me. That being said i have been suggesting this game to thers like me and those with similar issues have also been finding it to be a soothing escape

I think people fail to remember this is a beta…all the things people have complained about can be added before launch…since it is “ever expanding”, I’m sure things will be added constantly I remember during past betas…devs usually don’t give access to all zones/content

The trailer alone sets them up for the criticism, because as you say - it's not much of an MMO , but the 'cozy community' sim title is not accurate. You build furniture, but can't use it. No, you can't sit on your couch and drink tea like the trailer shows. You can't sit at all - not even on the ground. You craft all this furniture just to stand and stare at it - or have friends come over and also stand and stare at it. You can't lay down and maybe regain focus or some other buff. Just day and night standing/running/crafting/gathering. Yes it's beta but the devs haven't addressed this issue and it has come up repeatedly "can we sell the furniture we make please? can we break it down and regain the materials? can we at least SIT on it"- radio silence. Definitely disappointed because this was one game we had been watching and waiting for for so long - yet tens of millions of dollars later, and a staff of 100+ - and it fails horribly as the things it touted itself to be.

It's funny you say that, because as I was editing the trailer footage into this video I said "wait, you can't do that!" when I saw the character sitting down drinking tea. I also thing the environment graphics look way more toned down than what we see in the "pre-alpha footage". Really though its the last part of the trailer (seen at the end of this video) where it shows everyone running around that really says "this is an mmo". I'd love to hear the devs views on this to be honest.

I followed Palia for a year and was so excited to get into the closed beta. I am extremely disappointed in Palia. It is not only the complete lack of communication from the dev team, or the poorly-thought-out monetization store. The game is basically a lot of people playing a single player game together. The only reason it is an MMO is because corporate game companies think that is where the money is. My biggest problem with Palia is the non-stop, needless money grind. The devs have stated that they want people to play Palia for years; unfortunately they have designed a grind-heavy experience to stretch the game out. I find it remarkable un-cozy, and not the experience that I want. I also have real concerns about Singularity Six - the company behind Palia - posing as a small game company when they are actually a corporate group with over 100 employees and more than $25 million behind them.

The biggest elephant in the room is the sustainability of this game. Basically the question of what's next after you have been there and done that as you have pointed out. This game will fail if they don't address this problem. But they can only fail if the dev want to fail. Why I say so? There are no lack of ideas on what players wish to see in the history of other MMOs (exclude those ideas that are related to PvE PvP combat competitive context which is not Palia's focus). If Palia dev is clueless and don't want to do their research they can always start a suggestion forum and let players bring the idea to their doorstep. While there is no lack of idea, there are plenty lack of will to want to materialize these ideas as evident in other MMOs. That is why I say the game will fail if they want it to fail. It is their will that makes the difference. Even in the worst case scenario, all the dev need to do is to go out and find all the 'good' design and game play in other games that is in similar genre (for e.g. on gardening, look at Farm Together game which imho an excellent farming game) and COPY literally into Palia. Make Palia a hub of copied ideas so that instead of having to play Game A (E.g. Farm Together for gardening), Game B (E.g. Disney Dreamlight Valley for housing decoration), Game C separately etc etc. you can find all of them in Palia and you just need to play one single game and that is Palia. This is a no-brainer and just copying of idea and making Palia a hub. Is that so difficult to achieve? Only the dev can determine.

I believe the game was intended to be a single player game at first, but at the last minute they decided to go multiplayer. I think this because in thee installation folder there's a particular one named "SaveGames". Which tells me this was the case, everything Palia has about social is really lacking. Housing, chat, parties, guilds, activities, everything is lacking. There's nothing massive multiplayer about Palia. It's like saying Animal Crossing is a Massive Multiplayer MMO because people can visit your island... in this case, the island is your house, which is instanced, and you need to be online and at your house plot for whatever reason to let people visit you. They have limited all the social aspects of the game, there's an enormous lack of emotes and interactions with the furniture and the world. The world feels dead, instead of being excited to go out to hunt together, gather together, etc. it feels like it's a competition for resources. They didn't want to add PVP into the game because it's not that kind of game, well, we certainly have resources PVP, and they keep on trying to slow down people with time gating and cutting on resources. And there's nothing cosy about the constant gold gating, everything in the game is super expensive, you barely get rewarded for your efforts, people are min-maxing everything to make enough money to buy things from NPCs, you name it, the 50,000 gold backpack which unlocks the last row of your personal inventory or the 100,000 chest that increases your storage... or the continuously increasing of prices to unlock new slots to add more machines to your house. I really think the game will suffer a dramatic loss of players and interest in the next 3 months if they don't address all these issues (it's already happening, and it will keep happening faster if the next patches don't address the real concerns of the players, there's a bunch of feedback people have posted on their discord and seems it's falling on deaf ears, especially because there's a very clear lack of communication from the developers which was way more noticeable when they said they'd post more news in the next 24 hours from the last patch, and to this moment they haven't). They need to focus especially on improving the social aspect of the game, and get rid of the resource competition. But hey, we have 3 new outfits in the cash shop and pets now. Be happy, right? I kind of still have hope for the game, but noticing how they focused mostly on the cash shop stuff on the blog post on the last patch, I kind of think this is a cashgrab kind of game now...

@@OceanWorrier that's nice! More often than not I have found people rushing and camping Palium (especially the instance hoppers), gathering all iron and not cutting stone to keep the spawns up. I rarely see palium callouts, not saying they're non-existantt but it's rare to see people calling out Palium nodes or waiting for others to gather it. And with the lack of a pin system like a command so you can put it on chat its really hard to communicate. I hunt some times with my husband, when I kill something as a party he doesn't get rewarded if he doesn't hit the node (in this case a sernuk), which, tbh, is a really dumb system, since most of us can 1 hit the regular ones. He will get some of the bags, but not all of them, and when there's 3-4 people hunting, it's way more noticeable as you will find areas where there's nothing to hunt at times. I have seen time and time again "I can't find any copper", "I can't find any Palium", "I can't find any Iron". If I mine something some of the resources i pick up should instantly be shared with my party members. Why slow down and stop on every single node so everyone can have a hit, without mentioning that once your tools are upgraded to palium, you can pretty much 2 hit small nodes or chop small trees with 1 hit. So the solution is pretty simple: - Making nodes instanced, just like foraging. So everyone can get a node, if a member of your party broke the node and you're far away a % of that node's reward will be shared with you. - As of hunting, make animals respawn faster or add specialized areas where you can instance hunt with your party. Like the safari in Pokémon, that's fun. Your own area with your own targets. Maybe even expand on it and require at least 1 player in a party to be able to go into that zone. Cooking seems to be the only REAL thing that you get benefit from doing with people, it's faster, everyone gets the same amount of food as long as you interacted in some way. Even fishing has that buff from just being close to others, we need things like these to improve the relationship with other players, its an "mmo" *cough* not a solo game, the social aspect is important (if it's an mmo), right now it's not that much...

Very succinct and balanced commentary. One other thing I was disappointed to find is that there is that you can't create multiple characters - I love playing MMOs on my own, but if I want to share the experience with a friend, I can't start with them from scratch. I also stream (well I did, been on a break for a while), and would like to do a let's play from scratch too... Short of making multiple accounts, it's not possible.

I don't understand why people say Palia is not an MMO (Masive Multiplayer Online) Just because other games have pvp and dungeons and this one doesn't doesn't make it less of an MMO. It still has multiple people playing together online, it's just different than the rest. It's almost like everyone hates it because it's different, weren't people supposed to be "inclusive". If you don't like it, you don't play it. And you can also try it for free at any time. We are all waiting patiently for more features to play as a group, but untill then us who like the cozyness of the game are ok with it as it is. Also this game is really attracting a hole new type of community, a community that previously didn't like the pvp/boss killing aspects of the other MMO's.

I think there are some minor issues with the game but this is beta and the game will evolve over time like all online titles. My main concern is over the monetization. I have no issues with it so far but I hope they dont get predatory.

- soloing most of the time - rare resources takes so much time to respawn if another player chopped a tree or took a node from you also you maybe want to restart your game searching for another server that have no one in which will take some time as well - limited server players at 25 persons - building your plot for no reason and decorating it for no reason - you should buy several times new plots to unlock the windmill and gazebo for no reason - limited in game coins as 300k - only one multiplayer aspect of the game right now is considered under pvp whic is the chappa chase event fun but for some its not - in game chat,if someone need to team up you will have to send him a friend request so he can invite you to his server which is most of the time full and you both will suffer being in the same server hoping for someone to shutdown his game leaving the server your friend in - cake parties is so boring and it takes so much time - nerfing several corps and potato preserves lately they are forcing people to do cake parties because its the only way to have so much money right now - tons of bugs and glitches without no fixes updates after updates and they don't look into the known issues - people are getting banned from discord for telling the truth about the updates and the game - reddit posts getting deleting from the moderators for the negative thoughts and opinions about the game - yeah about the one plot that people are at the same plot i mean your house in the game in the same location like the rest of the players in the server when you leave your house you will find yourself between a lot of other players in the same location flapping your wings lagging till you finally get out from your crowded spawn area - some recipes in the game are not obtainable after reaching specific level of fishing skill like the sushi recipe so if you are 15+/16+ you will never get it ... what ever this game will die before the fully release if they kept on ignoring the community thoughts

I have loved palia... i love the monsters and raids of regular mmo but i hate the pvp aspect so while I would like more big things to take down as a group in palia that still may come true. we dont know its in beta. I love that i cant die in the game since that is always a free in the others it allows players of any age to play this game without fear of a loosing anything or having to run back to where you die. I am not all the way to endgame just yetbut I know i will be there soon. I am not rushing it though since its just a cozy game meant for people who like house flipper, animal crossing mixed with some social if you want. The only complaint I would say is that I think the magic mines should require help like some of the trees do this would help with social. I always end up finding a group even if we dont grp up to go and get some magic trees. Palia just needs to lean more on that side of things and it will become more social. I do have to say though I like that you can start out not being social if you dont want to be.

I disagree with some things you said: 1. I doubt many people Expected combat. So far, I have only seen a couple RU-vid reviewers saying "it's not their type of game", but they were simply trying it out of curiosity, not expecting it to be one of their main games, and certainly not "hating it". Sims 4 reviewers, and farming life sim reviewers, on the other hand, Loved the game to bits! 2. One of the most memorable MMOs I've ever played was Glitch, which also didn't have any combat. Unfortunately, Glitch had to shut down, due to poor marketing and insufficient monetization. Palia is the only other game that is trying to be a non-combat MMO, as far as I'm aware. 3. Are you sure that Palia is aimed at MMO gamers? It seems to want to attract people who enjoy farming life sims, to be a kind of a "gateway" MMO for those who have never tried the genre. 4. I agree with your points about subpar social features and the lack of endgame. I have played Palia with a friend, and had a great time, but the loading screen you need to sit through when inviting someone to your server are a bit long. As for players on the same server running around, I never felt the need to talk to them and have no idea how to invite them to group. Which is Bad news for a "social" MMO. As you said, what's the point in building a cool house if you can't invite friends over and sit on the sofa with them (no interactions with furniture yet)?

You are right the MMO community is so toxic it's basically not worth doing a MMO game they demand so much content every month and so many updates like no others so for devs it's much easier to create a single player experience where it's out its finished not having to deal with huge demands every week

@@Seb7an There are less and less MMO's coming out, and it will continue to drop Why should they do so much for a player base that pays one time for a game that needs monthly updates and new content when they could develop a single player game that gets one release and doesn't need new updates and content, it's much simpler and more profitable for companies that want to make profit in a capitalist system That's why the biggest MMO's have monthly subs like FF14 or WOW and also have an in game shop because otherwise they couldn't make so much content for players that demand a lot.. The fact that tools can break and down grade if broken after using up the tool is lame, a tool should not downgrade it should just be unable to be used. Example I play ICARUS it has a PvE part to it but other than a few wild beasts it is similar but when I build a nice cozy home with decorations and stuff i get a sleep buff for more exp etc. So there is a point doing it. Agreed! They had an opportunity here to reinvent the wheel with non pvp/pve style raids or dungeons. The challenge of not having these should have invoked a huge opportunity to innovate, but it doesn’t seem like they made too many creative risks here.

This game is the for the Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, Sims, My Time at Portia/Sandrock, etc. demographic. NOT for the WoW, FFXIV, ESO, etc. demographic. Not to say if you play games in the latter group, you won't enjoy Palia, but I feel like all the people hating on the game are from that group and are expecting the wrong thing before they even download it. My only complaint about the game is that it doesn't really feel multiplayer at all. I feel like you hit the nail on the head with that one. They need to work more on the social aspect of the game and come up with more ways to encourage players to interact with one another. One GREAT thing I never see anyone really talk about in any videos is that this game has no economy. I feel like that in itself helps a lot with whatever direction they decide to go with endgame. As of right now endgame is only having multiple plots with multiple houses. That, and the black market. But they are working on events and things like that. I feel like they could fix the endgame issue (or at least help it) by adding a 4 month calendar, with all 4 seasons. Each month 28 in game days, or 28 rl hours, with special events for each season, along with regular weekly events for every season. So that way people can look at the calendar and say, "Oh, 2 hours until the Snowball Fight!" or "1 hour until the Fireside Gathering that takes place at the Town Hall every Sunday!" Hell they could even give everyone birthdays and make it where you can hand out 10 invitations to a birthday party on your plot. Also, each season could change the environment, which would be cool aesthetically. Also, also, none of that was my idea, I stole it from My Time at Sandrock.

After having tried Palia, I think the "game is a half baked mess" opinion is too harsh since the game is in beta, but still I do feel like they could've polished it more before letting so many players in. As for criticisms I have: - The game feels barren at times. You only run into other players occasionally and the fact that the chat is indeed empty for most of it makes it look way too desolate. - The story is... Weird. There's really no setup at all, you literally just materialize out of thin air and everyone is instantly friendly towards you. It's implied that beyond Palia there's a bigger kingdom or organization for the elves but they seem weirdly uninterested by the fact that humans are popping out of nowhere in mass and there's really just a single scientist investigating it. - The premium shop. Not much more to say here, the shop needs to go asap. - No interactions with the world aside from collecting resources and talking to npcs, you can't sit anywhere, you can't swim (it just goes to a black screen and it teleports you elsewhere), no mounts or transportation (aside from like 2 travel points that cost money) so you basically have to run everywhere, every time. - Lack of tutorials. To be fair, there are tutorials shown on how to use tools and some mechanics, but they're only shown once and afaik can never be seen again, there's also certain items that specific characters want but you're never told where to find them which I guess can promote exploration but it become stressful when the item only spawns in certain conditions (daytime, specific location, etc). Most of these are just my personal preferences but I really think the game could benefit from improving these systems.

It's a completely free to play game, where are they going to get money from if they get rid of the cash shop that's purely cosmetic? That's just dumb to say they need to get rid of it. I run into tons of players all over the place, so maybe you're playing the game in the middle of the night, when nobody's on or something? You don't really need mounts at the moment, this game is still in Beta, they're not going to have everything you want right off the bat. There's plenty of tutorials, you just have to read the pop up boxes that show up.
@Clawstorm
@Clawstorm 11 месяцев назад
If its free to play they should definitely have a cash shop, but in it's current state its a bit ego'd and predetory. The values are set so you have to get more coins than any one item, leaving you with left overs to compel you to buy more to get a second. Also, the skins are way too expensive for a game of its caliber. As in, this would be a $15 paid game, and iirc thats the price of one outfit. The lack of earnable outfits and locking pets behind a paywall was greedy imo as well.

Tbh feeling lost because of the lack of explanations had me confused at first. But I feel like I actually got to discover things. I waited until I had gotten through most of the beginning quests before going online for tutorials and I have to say that made me feel more “at home” in Palia. I know there are game breaking bugs but I have to say that I’m really glad to be a part of this beta. I don’t mind not having all the QoL yet because we’re finding out what’s necessary to make the game worthwhile. Also, I completely agree with you that the cash shop is way overpriced. But I do want this game to succeed so I made a small contribution. I hope they reduce the prices in the future because the outfits are cute.

@@nickk4653 couldn't agree more. I really liked the game so far and I'm really excited about the future of Palia. About the store, it's really that I don't like it when games that are in early stages or are yet to be officially released try to sell you all this stuff, I get that the game has to make money somehow, but the pricing is a bit excessive. The other stuff was more just things I think the game could benefit a lot in having or fixing and I think I exaggerated saying that the game is barren, I do see a lot of players now I think I was just logging in at the wrong time lol.

Ok I have been playing games since the 80's and I will say this. Not every one of us are desperate for friends... Most of us want to play on our own and just to enjoy the games period! The rest of you who have no friends to wah wah on the game! I am glad the game have the option of being by yourself or with others is great to most of us... So stop with this whole I want to be with others wah wah because it is annoying at how pathetic it sounds when grown adults are still having the mentality of wanting friends so badly... For many years it had got on many nerves to have no option to play by ourself and to be forced to join up just to do quest and to move on has gotten to the point not many people want this anymore. I know for certain since I played Palia for a while that everyone would complain about the whole have to come together just to cut the Flow Tree... Do you think none of us notice in the chat when people complain about it. Lets not forget the more friends you get these days would mostly be full of hackers to mess with you game.

I think that "hate" is due to two different causes: 1. Wrong expectations (maybe set up by the trailers). This especially applies to the MMORPG crowd who either didn't understand or didn't notice that there is no typical PvE combat content in this game and are used to much more handholding instead of sandbox type of games. Starting any game with the wrong mindset and expectations can always lead to some frustration and undeserved dislike for a game. 2. Expecting a finished product while this is more of an early access / true beta. In many other games released over the last decade, the public beta was more of a marketing preview than really a version in order to get feedback from the players. It is definitely an unfinished product and there is a lot of stuff to do and improve on right now.

It's more than "the MMO crowd" who have an issue with Palia. I'm not an MMO person. I'm a cozy-gamer and Simmer. If your game has PvP I have zero interest. This game should be up my alley. However, the world is way too empty. Some things like harvesting the special purple-energy trees can't be done without others. I don't want to need to find someone to team up with just to cut down a dang tree. But what really turned me off from Palia was their immediate focus on not only having a cash shop, but having an overpriced cash shop they push HARD. Then the first new feature they add? Paywalled. Very bad form.

If these reddit nerds want to play their old MMOs, they can do that. No need to try and ruin this game because they expect this game to be their old favorite

Even with NPCs and people running around the game feels empty and lonely. You can't call this game an MMO and expect people not to compare it to other titles. There's potential in the game, and I do hope the devs continue expanding upon on it.

The game is just flat out boring once you build a house and decorate it that is it that is all it has to offer there is no community chat is dead you see the occasional person running around but other than that this might as well be a single player game.
