Thank you. As a Jew I have been pretty depressed by the barrage of antisemitism directed at all Jews, not just Israelis. I feel deeply for the palestinian people who are in a no win situation. But I'm not Israeli, I can't vote or change the course Israel takes, but I've been harassed and abused simply for being a Jew and it's not ok.
@davidgray1515

If you identify as and agree with what Israel is doing then yes it is ok for people to voice their opinions about that. I doubt if you were abused.

Please take heart from one person who cares: You are loved and respected. The situation over there is complex and lots of people are hurting. You have compassion for those in pain and jeopardy, regardless of their affiliation, and that says volumes about you as a person. Hang in there; you are not alone.

Who are you to say he has not been abused. How can you see and hear the remarks made about Jewish People, study the holocaust, read the reports about attacks on synagogues and then say “I doubt he’s been abused” I question your definition of abuse.

Which is the same reason I follow you too. Your words, lessons and delivery is very calming and allows us to use our critical thinking. Meidas Touch is my go-to source because they are credible lawyers who read court documents so we understand what is actually going on rather than screaming opinions in my face. It actually allows me to keep focus on what is really happening. YES, the news itself is outrageous, but because they give a legal picture of what's happening, it diffuses rage and allows me to remain informed rather than angry.

Just came here from watching Beau. I love this message from you, Rev. And I am very glad I found your channel (both you and Beau)! Funny thing about Beau: I resisted checking out his videos for the longest time because I wasn't sure what kind of messages he'd have; just judging by his thumbnail and nothing else, I was worried he'd say stuff that would make me angry! I was so wrong about that. His videos often leave me feeling very reassured and less worried about the state of things; at the same time, I know I can trust him to level with me about things we truly need to be concerned about. I feel the same sense of comfort and trust here, and I thank you for that. We all need that.

Between Beau, Rev, and a select FEW others, I can feel calmer and safer and far more hopeful than I did before them.

The question "Why don't Christians have the right to..." is the biggest problem with Christianity today. So many seem to want temporal power and rulership, which isn't the point and actually drives people away. The Israelis will have a strong opinion about whether Americans (as they will see it) should control THEIR city. And I agree, it's like looking at a car wreck.

I listen to those people so I can know what my dad and his wife are mainlining. By knowing what they are hearing allows me to maybe plant seeds of truth for them to consider. Their generation thinks everything their news station says MUST BE TRUE!! Despite what that station saying be antithetical to their “Christian beliefs”. I struggle with the hypocrisy of their political beliefs versus what they spew after watching fox all day long. They don’t think critically which would allow them to realize it’s not right what fox and these other stations are saying.

A lot of people who turn daily to the alarmists don’t realize what it is doing to them, especially when their friends and neighbors share that source. Lately I have had to back off from my best friend’s Facebook posts because they make me feel so sad (she has fallen in with those eternally angry alarmists); it’s like I’m losing her. Now even my church ladies’ group has fallen into Christian catastrophising, and I’m afraid they’ll find out I’m a closet Democrat (I’m in the South). Christians seem to be the worst, and it’s terrible for our Christian witness to the world. Spending time outside in nature is helping.

We are having a relative visit at our US Thanksgiving dinner who lives in Jerusalem, practices as a Messianic Jew, and who worships Fox News asTHE information center of the world. I also watch his The Roads With Beau channel. There are plenty of progressive channels I have given up listening to just for the reason that they try to manipulate you by emotion, just like Mainstream Media does. Reverend. I feel we are experiencing the same journey. My epiphany on the black hole of outrage that assaults us online and sucks us into its chaotic swirl came about 6 months ago and I did exactly what you are suggesting by shutting them off. I too am a huge fan of Beau of the Fifth Column and in fact he is one of the very few sources I now turn to for analysis of the news cycle in a grown up presentation, with his "Get Informed not Inflamed" message. Thank you for taking the time to speak to us about your own struggle to switch off the noise and focus on what is important to us. The distraction of and addiction to online (apologies for my language here) "News Porn" takes us away from the issues that should matter to us. Last year a neighbour of mine (82 years old) had a hip operation. I knew she was home from hospital, but I realised I hadn't even knocked on her door to see how she was doing after 3 weeks! That's not me. Normally I would be offering to cook, to go to the market, to put on a load of laundry. But I had foresaken her, for what? I think if we ask ourselves do we even know how our neighbourhoods are doing, many of us would hang our heads in shame. Its much easier to focus on something happening outside our sphere of influence or action, than to take care of those closest to us. Thank you for highlighting.

I agree with you 100%! I had begun to reach that burnout state you described in 2016 but was so fortunate that I found first, Beau of the Fifth Column, and then (through Beau's videos) your channel! From these two channels I was able to gradually improve my ability to be more discerning in what other information sources I watched AND better at discerning the quality/accuracy of the information I was exposed to. Thanks mostly to You and Beau, I am in a much better place emotionally/mentally! I still use a mixed variety of information sources and have a good grasp of what is going on in the world (and much of it is still tough to deal with). But, learning how to use the information available, and know when to simply dismiss what is being spouted out by people who are more interested in producing outrage rather than truth has made all the difference in the world for me! If I were only able to see two channels it would be Rev. Ed Trevor's and Beau of the Fifth Column! Thank you for the difference you have made in my life!!

I find I'm using it to avoid my own, personal "news" such as "My Car Need's New Tires" or "Amy's Checking Account Needs to be Balanced" . And this is ironic in another way. 99%of what we hear on the news we CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT. Conversely, our own personal daily "news" story is 100% stuff we can do something about. Why do I avoid my own "news" and instead spend hours getting involved with one's which I have NO CONTROL?

I think we’re all a little traumatized. My long road to recovery from a traumatized brain, helps me understand that IF I’m clicking on those things, watching those things that bring up those kinds of feelings in me, it is because I am trying to prepare for the danger. I am trying to get ahead of it. At one time it was almost obsessive for me. It’s a hyper vigilance that begets more hyper vigilance. I don’t watch that stuff at all anymore. I start to feel that way & immediately turn it off. Because I have worked through my trauma enough to know I am safe now. But this hyper vigilance is a result of something that is almost never addressed. That is parallel to my own personal trauma experience prior to 2017 when 45 took office. And that is - Often what hurts us the most & what is most traumatic in the life of a person who’s been abused is not the abuser themselves. It is those who know better, but condone our abuse. It’s hard to feel safe in a world where so many continued voting for, supporting & being the mouth piece of your abuser. The disappointment & crushing sadness, the betrayal of those who should know better is the danger for which many people have to look out. I think this is an important topic & it’s much deeper than the jolt we get. That jolt is a message from our highest selves. I feel for everyone that has lost family members to the Trumpy MAGA Qanon Cult. I lost over half of mine and I grieve everyday. I’m a retired federal law enforcement hostage negotiator and work harder today than I ever did on the job. I belong to a special church it’s Episcopal, we have photos of Civil War soldiers worshiping together yet the same time during the war. It’s truly a sacred holy place and gives me hope. I love you and Beau take heart. Great message you have sent there is Right Wing Dopamine Addiction and it’s hard to detox .

Ah, yes, that mythical ability to say "No!"... The delivery of inflammatory rhetoric, carefully calculated and packaged to producet a powerful emotional response, is part and parcel of the modern social media palette. I don't see that changing any time soon. "Information superhighway," anyone?

When my middle son was at school he had a friend who was from a muslim family, his parents bought him a pack of christmas cards that he could give to his school friends.they also put his cards that he got up.another friend hada mother who was a Jehovah's witness, when her son showed her the cards he got she stood in the playground and ripped the cards up.this made my son rethink his attitude towards religion and he now has an attitude shared by his brothers that people are people regardless of religion and now rejects religious intolerance.

Oh, my beloved Rev Ed, 'Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.' Or words to that effect. The burden of Jesus He puts upon all of us who believe. Take comfort in your sanity and know how much we NEED you. Yes, yet another Christian burden thrust unto those born to lead. For ALL the confusion they create, your gift brings calm, hope and steadiness. Thank you for sharing that with us! Thank you for watching those jerks, so we know and we can offer hope to those around us that might fall for that stupid point of view. To them we say, thoughts and prayers!

Rage bait. It's an anger & adrenaline addiction. Watching things like that make people angry, either at the target of the speaker's ire or at the speaker for being so thoughtlessly wrong or cruel. Either way, anger releases adrenaline, and that makes you feel invincible, or at least not helpless or depressed or in despair anymore. That becomes addicting and you look for more. The same thing happens when they instill fear in you. But I'm like you - LOVE me some Beau! He's the reason I'm here on your channel. I love both of y'all. Neither of you tell me what to think or make me angry or afraid. You just calmly tell me accurate information then what you think about it. No pressure. That preserves my clear mind so I can think on it to see what *I* think. I usually agree with you both, too, and that makes me feel not alone. The way you do it though - that is the best part. I'm a victim of childhood trauma, so don't react well to fearmongers. I'm so glad I found both of you so I can keep apprised of current events without spending my days in a constant state of hypervigilance. Thank you for that.

I do that you know Rev. Ed. I choose my sources intuitively. If I don't get positive energy, or I feel a lack of clarity, I don't watch that video or tune into that resource. I'm not a Christian. However I have a relationship with Jesus from my childhood. I found you sometime ago and based on my intuition I chose your channel and I am so glad that I found you. Thank you so much for being a beacon of hope and enlightenment.

For the longest time, I would engage with "these people" on social media in the hopes that someone would see my comment and change their position or their mind. I just wound up making myself crazy and boosting their engagement. It was arrogant and nieve on my part and counter-productive. I couldn't just scroll on by when faced with such vitriol and stupidity so I wound up blocking a lot of people. I'm much happier. ✌️

There are so many things going on in the news - U.S. politics and various far-right movements, wars and barbaric deeds, multiple Trump trials... I've found myself getting so focused on some of these that I've not been paying attention to the good and beautiful things that surround me. I'm rediscovering how balance is the key to my well-being. I don't even watch or follow any outrageous channels, but I also realize that even after taking in a certain amount of good, decent RU-vid channels, I still get tense and agitated. (My poor fingernails!) When I have consumed a certain amount of news about the things I mentioned above, I have to balance it with things like listening to good music, clicking on a calming channel like this one, a walk out in nature, prayer, meditation, silence. I realize that for some, things like balance and silence are not so easy to achieve in their busy lives, but it is my sincere hope that we take care of ourselves and each other - in the midst of the noisy chaos.

Beau is a proponent of critical thinking and asks others to use the same tools to sort through the detritus of the messages we hear. You do the same by sharing the word of a loving God, not one who calls you hate and “other” those who are different. We are all children in this kingdom, just some apparently haven’t gotten past the toddler “me,me,me” stage of our development.

I feel that as hard as I try to focus on God and his will, I’m reminded that I still have this need to learn what’s real or not real. I’m no saint, but I find it so hurtful to hear fellow Christians ask the equivalent of what’s in it for me? Am I way off center for feeling this way?!? I pray that God leads me away from the scoffers and draws me near Him!! I pray for all of us!!🙏🏻

I was where you are. I HAD to watch. I have now prioritized my mental health. I spoke with someone who reminded me that it’s ok to protect our mental health. It does not make us weak or unable to cope, but enables us to clear the mind of anger and think clearly. I was raised to believe that to turn away is to ignore the problems. We must bear witness. I still believe we must bear witness to evil and call it out and condemn it, but I don’t have to immerse myself to the point of illness. The universe is so big and we know so little. Don’t listen to anyone who says they have all the answers. Some things don’t have ready answers. We still have one another and these forums help. Thank you.

First, you're the only religious person I watch. Second, I found you via Bo. Now, it's the people about whom you're talking that makes me happy to be an atheist. The "couple" about whom this video happens to be is one of the biggest reasons why I flat left religion. However, I am glad you are doing these videos.

I agree. I try to make an assessment: "Does this site primarily make me angry? -Is this deliberate? Then whatever actual information they might provide is probably already so massaged, it's worthless! -Go with Beau instead" :). To quote from the Jedi Code: There is no Ignorance, there is Knowledge. There is no Passion, there is Serenity." As for the question... No god EVER gave ANYBODY anything material. If someone wants to change my mind on that, they need to bring the receipts!

Bless you, my brother. Your self-reflection is reflected in many of our lives and very helpful. Also, I don't think, "My kingdom is not of this world," could be any clearer. We not only have no right, it's contrary to the kingdom we are called to.
