I was friends with Yagami back in the day (2012-2014) on Xbox. I remember being in the party with him on Xbox 360 back when we were all discussing getting back into Runescape. Eight years later, I only have 4 99's and he is comped hahaha. He is a really great guy and he still talks to me to this day if I send him a message. So happy to see him on your channel!!
How so? only person who was never friendly was Zezima - never spoke to the community and was toxic and a big L - KingDuffy and those onwards have always been friendly.
@@jmel1000 This just isn't true... I remember hunting with Yogosun, Evil God (rank 2 hp), The Hate, several others, and they would never say a word for any reason. N0valyfe had a pretty closed social circle and the economy was just so different back then imo. The only other player I can think of who was social was Green098, super nice person.
"so what you're saying is agility is trash right?" "yes all the way" i couldn't agree more grinding 5-6 hours at the wildly course to get 76 was the most unfun shit iv done in runescape
Ranks was big motivator for skilling past 99 early on with top 100 available for most of skills well until 2012, the progression of easy updates by then and Mtx killed Hiscores in general afterwards.
Managed to get 120 ALL on RS3 in 2018. Had 120 Dungeoneering pre-eoc for the prestige of having it. When they announced they were bringing virtual levels, alongside cosmetic capes, it sounded like a fun grind, and thus started the journey. 120 ALL also felt like the next step after maxing for me. I've also got around 13 200Ms, and like Dungeoneering, I mostly just went for them for the prestige of being 200M, plus I've always been someone who likes to be competitive when it comes to hiscore ranks. I've since stopped with RS3 in the past 2 years, but had started playing on my OSRS account again. I'm now 200M cooking and around ~30ish levels away from maxing. The reason for getting 200M cooking on OS, which has even less incentive than RS3, was mostly just the prestige of it. Plus, I didn't want to wait until after maxing, or else my rank would've been over 1,000.
@@ItsMe-rz3lu well yes in a game like RuneScape where most progress is just watching a number go up its hard to have fun if all your ever worried about is making that number go up
Should try the RP worlds out, there are some pretty hardcore RPers out there and the conversations are great. Really forces the focus off XP gains and min max pvm.
I used to wake up 2 3 hrs before my dad, just to play RS before school. also, in 7th grade, in our computer class. wed pay off the teacher with food to let us play RS in class lmfao
I absolutely LOVE the denial of the addiction To the second guy: You started playing after the actual game died and never had to deal with the real tutorial which was getting absolutely rinsed in wildy for the first time and lose all your sh**
Especially liked Yagami's answers and perspective, would be cool to have Dragonseance on for an interview he always has a interesting perspective on this sort of stuff
Well some 200m are easier on osrs, it might take longer but you used to be able to literally afk for 6 hours whilst sleeping on osrs with magic training. I guess you meant long rather than difficult because skilling is so easy you could teach a monkey to click a button :)
Awesome talk with other great players. I fine and agree with Yagami; that gaining max could be the tutorial/introduction for the real game. Keep up the great content :)
Intially I never cared to go past 120, then the new capes came out and I had something to go for. With the new content going into 120 its more beneficial/profitable to go pass 99. Unless I get something for 200m xp I'm done after lvl 120 lol.
Another interesting question would've been if they are still playing their character or still have goals with their character after having achieved 200m in every skill.
There are a lot of methods where you can do other stuff, just wear the boots, and your overall profit per hour is still positive. It becomes a "why not" situation.
Yagami feels like he understands the grind but wanted to completed it. he feels like one of us everyday players with just a few 99s and just enjoy the game
Its true. I gave way more shits about max efficiency pre-max. I still do care about efficiency but my takeaway is that RUNESCAPE IS A MARATHON, NOT A SPRINT. I learnt to pace myself or risk getting burnt out and quit for months altogether.
29:55 meh prestige systems should make you get to lower lvl zones again and again. Thats one way to make the whole rs3 feel alive again. Same thing what happens in archaeology. Watching ppl of all levels doing random stuff everywhere, and not just in high 99+ zones.
"Im not addicted", Spends more time on runescape per day than a drug addict spends high while having no job or life outside the game. Oh how iv seen it time and time again since the start of runescape. Its no different to any addiction, while addicted you cant see your addicted and if you do get better you try deny your an ex addict. I even met someone in rehab that was there for runescape :/
The reason why I went for 200M Exp in Cooking, Fletching & Firemaking was because I was already over 100M Exp & near Rank 1. Just wanted to get to 200M Exp to get a High Rank. Yeah man my Goal is to get all 200M Skills.
just to touch on making another acc, legit the only thing stopping me from making another account is doing quests again... i really want a ironman tho..
I'm around 100m xp away from 3b xp the reason I go past 99 and 120 is because it gives you something to do pvm gets boring after a while... plus if jagex ever releases the skill to 120 it would be cheaper to get it when the skill is a virtual level and not a comp req... such as herblore
@@Joseph-nh6in back when i did it for 99 o just did Sara brews, when i went for 120 i did a mix of tradable potions that are required for overloadeds yes it might not have been faster but this was all before the 120 release, once you hit 120 training herblore with stuff other than overloads isn't really worth it since it saves you 75% cost when you go from base overload to elder with boosts
Something about RS gets a lot of really competitive people playing. All the numbers alone make it easy to compare one to another. The hiscores themselves. I remember back when no one was max XP and then people started getting close. One guy maxes and then one after another. It was crazy. The community felt like they had superstars. Very, very, nerdy superstars. When there's such a wide array of ways to play and an eventual realization that there is skill to playing RuneScape, it's so easy to catch the bug, how easy it is to feel like you're competing and being competitive. Just like many people playing twitch shooters, if you're good at all you probably think you're better than you are. Everyone thinks they're MLG right? 😂 That's a RuneScape lifer
For some skills, I enjoy the grind. Fletching for some reason, I enjoy training so I want to go for 120 because I like the skill and cape. Others probably hate the skill. Just play the game however you want :-)
Wow and he said maxing is the tutorial of RS3.... Meanwhile i'm like omg i finally maxed.I can finally go feed my POF animals and actually go do bossing and work on some comp requirements or finish up my clue scrolls as well.Always surprise me how different 200m skillers all are compared to me lmao.
that 200m cape at the start was nice. im all for a cape like that in game but it needs to be like comp/trim with no extra purpose. since people whined about comp being bis and not max when comps not even hard
@Jayden Tan its minor though, why have the cape if its not bis for something :/ just folk want to cry cause they dont want to do some questing or use a kiln cape. Which they could use kiln since you can now mg tp without the cape on you. I just think its a small minority crying cause they dont want to have to put effort in to have the bis but will happily grind 100s of hour to make money for t99 prayers or t92 weapons. It was the same way for years i see no reason for it to be changed but they did to stop folks whining. Would of been nice to have it polled like os instead of just agreeing and changing it
11:45 the thing about being rank 1 is that you don't have to brag. Nobody has to ask Neil Armstrong about his rank in walking on the moon. I expect a different respons to come from those who are further down the ranks. maybe #3 or #10. or #40
@ProtoxxGaming with newer players coming into the community, do you think it's more of a turnoff now because of how much it takes to max? especially with 120 herb, farming, etc (even though you don't need those for max cape). Also, I find it interesting back in the day where 100m was a lot to players and now 100m is like nothing.
I respect you for the interview and you taking the time to upload this video... But lol it wasn't hard for me to believe someone who puts in that much time on RS speaks broken sentences and sounds li- lik- like a r- r- rob- robot
@@eliwenthome The second guy now streams and talks a lot to my clannies (basically a social player) and just has an easier time talking. Le me's native language probably isn't English and not everyone can talk fluidly :p it is what it is
I gotta say I honestly agree with most (perhaps even all) of what Yagami said. In the end RS is a game, and you should do what you like, and what makes you happy. Because at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what others think. Also I love his idea about 200m trim-type addition to 120 capes much like multiple 99's trims your 99 capes. A tiny added thing for people that go above and beyond, without ruining the whole point of 200m, whatever that might be for whoever has it/is going for it.
For me defence would certinly not be the 1st combat skill to get 200M (or other milestone) for the same reason as he got it as first. After 99 I'd do no def xp on all the combat styles untill they reach level 120/ 200M xp. That way either less xp is being wasted or I have more freedom in choosing what combat style I use.
I had 200m dung when i was 1300 total in 2013 and I was selling floors in Keyers Fc (before stat reqs and trials became stricter). Still got my rank again when I maxed though :)
Honestly I don’t ever see myself going past 99 willingly. If I do level past it, it just happened, it won’t be because I’m consciously trying to. I just want quest cape and to do pvm, other than that I’m good
“U addicted bro?” “I..uh.. when… I…. Uh” “You..” “Well I.. uh” “Yea you..” “Exactly” “Well yea, that pretty much covers up this question and the next 1 too” “Sick.” “Right.”
i would love to feel how it must be to not worry about skilling and making money! simply bossing after bossing till you are tired! and again making money! one things is i got to be rich in real life or have a job that i can do from home so i can aim for 200m each skill....
People in game : Why do you go passed 99. Me : I have no life, if I stopped at 99 and max I would have quit 2 years ago :'( I NEED MORE EXP so i can keep playing!
Zomg must have subconsciously copied my player interviews (joking). I love longer almost podcast style videos like this great to listen to while scaping :)
