Would definitely be an interesting fight if they have Tai Lung fight with Po against Shen and Kai, instead of breaking character with those two villains.
@@Zack_Zander Tai Lung would've had reason to ally against Kai, seeing as the yak had stolen his chi as well...that is, if Kai was even canonically supposed to be present in the first place. Kai was already dead in the 3rd movie, Po destroyed Kai's soul itself. When all that remains is your soul, and _that_ gets destroyed, there's nothing else left. And Shen might know that it was always his own fault for his demise. With all that in mind... Tai Lung: Respect Shen: Revenge or Resignation Kai: Soul got erased from existence, therefore, cannot even be there in the first place
They could have launched a revenge to Po if they want to, but considering that Po has gotten stronger and stronger since the last time they fought him…. Yeah I think it’s best if they just return to the spirit realm and not repeat history
@@icydazo6417 yeah that’s true imagine of kung fu panda had a villain that’s so hard to defeat and hard to take down kind of like Frieza from Dragon Ball Z he was one powerful villain and the most evil of them all
I don’t think Tai Lung would of, I mean he clearly had a lot of time to think in spirit realm and was never truly a villain. The others though especially Kai and Shen, that was out of character what they did.
Trust me, I'm on the hate-wagon so far for this movie, but Shen actually does make some sense. In Shen's last moment before being destroyed by the falling cannon, he closed his eyes and his expression changed, all to one of acceptance. He accepted his death, and no doubt came to realize in death that the "Warrior of black and white" was quite likely him the whole time. One is often their own worst enemy, and those who attempt to change their fate only served to guarantee it whenever prophecies are concerned. _He_ decided to attempt a genocide on all pandas. That was _his_ decision, and look where that led him? One of the very ones he attempted to kill to prevent that future came to stop him, which wouldn't have happened in the first place if he hadn't gone genocidal. And remember, Po never did land any killing blow. Everything about his downfall was set in motion because of his own actions, no one else.
Its out of character because the narration to transform shen to that is missing. Its like cooking a pizza, but it only shows spinning the dough, then comes pizza.
@@allegrolaro4727 The people behind Kung Fu Panda, at least for the original 3 movies, use a lot of symbolism that is often seen more easily in later viewings. Like, when Shen dies you likely don't think to hard to realize the face acceptance, you're just trying to watch it all for the first time and are too engrossed in learning what's going on. Not everything in media has to be explicitly stated for people via some flashback or something, and that's what bugs me about a lot of movies lately. They baby to the viewers as if we're stupid and can't figure things out ourselves, not giving people a chance to use any problem-solving/deduction skills to discover it ourselves.
This scene was a big „Fuck You“ to Kung Fu Panda 2. I can still understand a bit the other Villains bowing to Po. But Lord fcking Shen would never do that. After killing Po‘s Mother, whipping all the pandas out burning panda villages…DreamWorks killed its own legacy
You have to remember the talk po had with him before he died, he was talking with lord shen about letting the past go, but he was furious in the moment, how could he just let go after all that, but he probably came to a realization in the spirit realm and respects po now
I buy him willingly going back to the spirit realm based on that look at the expression on his face at the end of his fight with Po, but him bowing to him is so stupid
Shen's death was his redeeming act. He closed his eyes, reflected and regretted his actions before the cannon fell to him. He made peace with himself at the last moment.
@@scorchingradiance7605 also right, he had goku's skills, but also made a few of his own, unlike Chameleon who just mimicks everyone move Edit: she actually had her own skills, but still, Goku black's better
You have NO idea what might have gone on in the spirit world for him. Perhaps he found enlightenment, or just had enough time to reflect on his actions. Just because he went back doesn't mean he acknowledged Po. It could simply mean that he knows his place is in the spirit realm now
@@Disneyfan82 Shen can make some sense, to get humbled. After all, when the cannon was about to fall on him, he closed his eyes as he accepted his fate, with the realization that the warrior who was the source of his demise was himself (after all, one is often their own worst enemy). Tai Lung most certainly makes sense for deciding to go back, as he has had the time to reflect on his own actions in death, and to accept that he never was meant to become the Dragon Warrior (I'd wager he probably encountered Oogway there at some point and the two talked, with Oogway pulling an Uncle Iroh). But um...wasn't Kai...you know... _destroyed_ though? Like, the dude was already a spirit, and his spirit body was overloaded to the point of literally exploding from all the chi being forced into him, so Kai's entire existence should be completely destroyed in every capacity, meaning there should be canonically no way for Chameleon to even be able to get his chi. _That,_ along with the disregard of Po having already achieved inner peace during the second movie, is where the justifiable hate comes from. It's disregarding both Po's lesson in the second movie, and Kai's entire soul being destroyed in the third.
@@legobrick1356so the person who killed themself not to loss and genosided a entire villige would get peace . This is like adolf hittler holding a gun and deciding to leave the jewish leader alone becuse he lost ww2 It just a cash grab . Your thinking to hard and they didnt want to pay the voice actor
Here’s the thing, a lot of us can buy Tai lung redeeming himself and returning to the spirit realm, and I’ve come around to Shen wanting to return, because of him accepting his fate in the second movie, but why in the living spirit realm does Kai just go willfully, and while we’re at it, how is in the spirit realm in the first place when he was basically eviserated in spirit form making him basically double dead
I cried for Tai Lung. The dude had his dream stolen for him just to die to a panda, and then he got revived just to watch someone else steal his dream from it again
I think the spirit realm mellowed them out. Plus, they don’t have to like Po, but they can still be thankful that he saved them from the chameleon and allowed them to return to rest once more. “We had our time in the mortal realm. We’re going back to our inner peace now.”
Yea I think kai was clinging on to anger for 500 years but when he got his ass beat and probably became much weaker he decided it wasn't worth the fight
In other words, Do you want to know what your big mistake was chameleon? Po: Its that stolen body!... Every muscle, every cell!! There bodies were built on a life time of intense battles and training! But you took it, Its all second hand! You have the power of those warriors cells but you dont truly understand it because you didn't build it! And you'll never learn how to think like them.
Kai and Shen wouldn't have wanted to return to the spirit realm cos they didn't want to be there in the first place! The movie's just trash cos of that fr
Kai got put in his place at the end of the third movie though, he knows that he can’t win over the world. It was the same case for Shen at the end of the second movie.
I can understand for Kai and Tai long but why should Shen go back there I mean this short look like it was only over tai long go back but just remember how Chen’s was it was not to grab control over china but it was like a personal affair between him and po
@@BookofAaron ok but self there was like 15 villains impossible they all wanted to go back and Kai don’t accepted or get his revenge he they all almost got no reason to come back seriously
@@Smilinggiyuuyeah that make no sens that almost every of his enemies just go back like they were pets I mean come on like grab Kai the guy passed 500 in this realm getting chi to Get away and destroy Ogway legacy but Nah he just goes back there like a pet go back to his cage what was that man
Here's a theory. For ppl mad at shen bowing lets rewind. When shen died he accepted his fate didmt fight back just let it happen. I'm guessing his time in the spirit realm he found peace within himself. When chameleon brought him back and po bonked the chameleon Shen shouldn't feel amy resentment if he found his peace during his time in the realm so he oays his respect by bowing
Nah Shen found his peace I understand he would go back to the realm but bowing to Po is no way. Is like saying Hitler accepted defeat then he would bow down to the rusia. Shen freaking commit mass genocide to pandas and his aim was to conquer the whole china. Ain't no way dude gonna bow down to his former enemy
I kinda loved the fact that the movie showed po as a wise man who instead of supposedly getting played by zhen he faked it all to help her grow into the new dragon warrior because the whole final fight was fake especially considering all he did was hit her once easily showing that the whole time po was in control (my personal opinion on the story)
I mentioned this to a friend, my beef with the series was that Po always seemed to lose to everyone even though he’s supposed to be a master. This was the first time I felt just how superior he actually is.
Po would have already one shotted chamelion anytime except the giant chamelion , she would have lasted a minute and lose but other forms would have been owned by po within seconds if po went serious cuz of that staff magic , the only reason he played with chamelion cuz he wanted zhen to gain confidence and abilities
Is it just me who remembers how Kai was defeated at the end of the last movie or no? Because I’m still scratching my head just trying to understand how on Earth did he come back FROM the spirit realm
EXACTLY!! THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING!!! His spirit was *literally* destroyed, there's no coming back from having your soul itself being destroyed, that's a perma-death of the highest degree.
@@legobrick1356 there is no thing as double death in spirit realm, when Kai exploded , he only got disappeared for some years maybe but came back cuz if second time death is an option in spirit realm then Kai would have killed everyone in spirit realm
He’s probably one of the only villains who didn’t have actual chi, yet also the only villain who had enough skill to give Po a crazy tough fight in the 2nd movie.
I think that's one of the reasons I didn't like KFP4 that much,, at least one of those villains could have escaped or at least done something evil.. .they didn't want to be in the spirit realm in the first place so why return when you've got the chance to be evil again??
Me too but the saddest thing is they don’t give a reason like we find enlightment or something they just go back like just do the movie stay so short as he already is there was really no but no reason for them to go back there especially Shen knowing that for him it was like a personal affair between him and po
The movie showed zero respect towards the previous ones, i would kinda understand tai lung showing respect to po because he wasnt really evil, but shen and kai? No way in hell that those two would do this, kai spent 500 YEARS trying to escape the spirit realm, it is completely stupid to make him want to go back like nothing from the previous movie happened aside from the fact that he shouldnt even exist cause he blew up, and shen never liked po during all the second movie, makes no sense why he would have respect for him now
This would have felt repetitive cuz they already got beaten by a worse version of po , right now they would be one shotted Also there is a rule that dead guys cannot enter to earth realm for long time especially with their free wills
Shen respecting po now really is quite the treat, after all shen hate the pandas, since it was foreshadowed by fate that he will lose to one, after po won the fight and had the talk with shen about letting the past go, shen may had time to think in the spirit world and may have realized po had a point
Tai Lung now sees Po as worthy of the staff of wisdom (and as the dragon warrior) Lord Shen had accepted his death at the end of Kung Fu Panda 2 and may have found peace (He still could be bowing reluctantly though) Kai already lost to Po and understands that it would be pointless to seek revenge
And what benefits will she get from that , and also without memories what will they all do by the way , this doesn't work good for kung fu movies tho especially those with only 1 hour durations
Because they still understand the need of balance. Culture is still important to them and that’s what I appreciated about that moment. It was respected.
It would have been cool if all the villains teamed up against Po to take revenge on him in a huge final battle or another movie like a Kung Fu Panda 4 part 2 or something. Another thing that could have been cool is if Tai Lung and Po had to team up to defeat the Chameleon.
Shen be like:- Oh I am Shen, I killed your parents, destroyed you emotionally nearly killed you 3 times But now I respect you I mean Wh...What the .. fu*k is that
I get why everyone bowed to po because for shen the reason why he wanted to kill all the pandas is because he didn't want to die from them but when he saw po having inner peace I think he respected po for that, for tai lung we have to remember that shifu was the one to try to make him be the dragon warrior and he felt he was obligated to be it, and for kai i feel like he is the type of person to respeact whoever beats him in a fight
Tai lung: Now who will save you big guy? Kai: This time i'll take your chi...... dragon warrior.. Shen: greeting panda we meet again ,i will make sure to kill you..... Plot: All of you guys bow and return back Villans :ok...🤡 This this the reason...... 😎
Lord Shen bowing down to Po as respect for doing something good to him, is like seeing Lord DIO bow down to Jonathan as respect for doing something good to him. *They would never bow down even to those who showed them mercy.*
Kai didn't even have any beef with Po bro just wanted chi. But lord Shen? "Hey Po it's me Shen! Remember when I killed your mother and wiped out your entire race because I was scared? Yeah I'm a good guy now so we're good right? Po?"
I really wish Tai Lung had stayed in the mortal realm, and became the Dragon Warrior successor. It would’ve been the perfect redemption arc for him, and it’d explain why Oogway couldn’t see him becoming the Dragon Warrior… because he had to die to fulfill his dream.
Dragon warrior is supposed to be the next generation, like passing of torch And also tai lung is technically dead so it would be weird to make a dead guy dragon warrior
im not really mad over the fact that all the villains bowed to po because I understand and agree with the take. after being a villain and getting sent to the spirit realm, it changes you and makes you realize what you did when you were alive wasn't right. i understood this trope when they did it in tmnt 2012 with shredder.
I think of it more something like a spin off movie. Its ok like 6 or 6½ out of 10. But with how it all played out it feels like it was supposed to be something like a hour long TV special but they had to insert small stuff to keep the run time up.
They should have done this instead :- After chameleon is defeated, she plays her last trap by releasing all the villains. And it turns out, they are the same. All of them want revenge and after Po is defeated by all the villains from Po's past they start their rampage on the cities and try controling it. Lord Shen and Kai teams up. But Tai Lung knows that this is wrong but still decides to team up to show how great he is and why he was a GREAT choice for becoming the Dragon Warrior. And the movie ends there with a cliffhanger. Kung Fu Panda 5 will cover the next Dragon Warrior's training and Tai Lung accepting his fate with Po and they team at the end of the first half and decide to send everyone back to the place they deserve, Spirit realm. And then they continue to fight and defeat the villains and then they send them to the spirit realm. Then finally, Tai Lung shakes his hand with Po before punching him to the ground as a joke and leaves to the Spirit Realm. How is it?
All the villains learned a lesson, and finally got peace in the spirit realm after getting rid of the inner sufferings and emotional instability they had in the mortal realm
For those saying "Shens character was disrespected" please remember the entire reason that he killed off the pandas was to makes sure his doom didnt come to pass, its called character development he lost and also saw the power that Po had with inner peace, coming to peace in the spirit realm with other people Po had defeated would definitely have an impact on Shens character
I have a theory, so the golden light shiny from kai shen and tai lung is the spirit realms chi that turned them good when they went there, oogway taught them to be good, including shen, so thats why they’re all budy budy now, because they turned good, like oogway did when kai stayed evil, and yes kai was reduced to nothing, but he still is in the spirit realm because when u die, u go to the spirit realm, the chameleon had been defeated and now everyone gives respect to po because he prove himself worthy, even tho that shen killed po’s family, he still gave respect to po for saving their souls. I rest my case
The worst thing about the movie was how easily the other villains were defeated by chameleon, even Kai who is considered the best kung fu master aside from Po and Oogway
Look, the concept was interesting and great, but you can see that this project probably changed groups multiple times. And got budget cuts because the story itself doesn't really make sense.
Let’s be real. Tai Lung would’ve just stepped on the chameleon, destroy the city, be appalled that Po has achieved greater power and mastery of Kung Fu.
Kai was literally annihilated by him, shen genocided it's people, they'd never ever side with Po. And more likely they would be like "hey, we are back now, gonna smash entire world"
I really wanted to see Tai Lung stick around. Imagine That return scene with Shifu... and Tai Lung learning the soft skills ofkung fu to round everything out...
All things aside but think for a minute Kai allmost turned all master's into jombies (Jade Zombies) even master Oogway so he can return to Mortal realm from Spirit realm and after his defeat in Kung Fu Panda 3 Chameleon brought him back so why didn't he tried to fight Chameleon and how did she get Kai specially master like Kai's power's so easily without a match this movie doesn't make sense 🤯🤯
everyones talking about shen bowing to po but what im more concerned about is how the hell Kai is still alive. shouldnt his body been like, i dont know, completely disintegrated? seeing as though pos chi was enough for him to blow up inside the spirit realm as well, so hes just long gone but nope, gotta bring him back for the money huh dreamworks?
Kai said it best the wooshi finger hold only works on mortals cases in point there not in physical form but instead they are actually a spiritual form no longer a mortal
