What if, hear me out, it's actually about female rage? (At least partly.)
The phenomenon of women liking these super dominant, aggressive male leads (aka "alphaholes") in Romance novels intrigues me, especially when most of us agree we'd never want that in real life.
I'm always leery of making blanket statements about why people create and enjoy art in a particular way, but I have started to wonder, especially since male authors tend to write their male characters very differently from us female Romance authors.
