Why Does Everyone Hate Sasuke? 

Psychologically, his behavior is completely understandable lol

"why do people hate sasuke?" Cause they think they have the same capacity of forgiveness as naruto, while they would all act like sasuke if this happened to them. Unfortunately everyone notices his flaws but never his state of mind.

I feel like Sasuke was the only character that actually acted like he lived in the world Naruto presented. Ya know, a world full of child soldiers trained to kill starting at like age 5.

I think a lot of people confuse their hate for Sasuke and hate for how much the other main characters would unrealistically chase after him

Lol, sasuke wasn't a a genius who instantly picked up techniques, he trained himself to exhaustion every day with a single minded obsession. He's a hard working genius.

As much as I love Itach and he’s my fav character in the series I don’t get why he had to put sasuke through a lot of shit like showing him the massacre of his clan through a genjutsu which is a dick move imo, and told sasuke to get revenge on him and hate itachi more. And then people hate on sasuke because he is always set his mind on revenge when itachi was the one who put him through that.

sasuke isn't that likeable, he didn't irritate me in the naruto series but in shippuden he was just dull to say the least. I understand he was powerful but the whole chasing him around thing got old quick.

two things 1: a lot a lot of people actually like sasuke, find him relatable/motivating for their own reasons, but don't necessarily praise him/agree with everything he did 2: a lot of naruto (character) fans hate on him because he put naruto down/was his rival/fought him/beat him/ran away from leaf village

Honestly I don't hate Sasuke. Sasuke's backstory turned him from a happy kid to a sad screwed-up kid. Finding out Itachi's true allegiance utterly broke him, and finding out that Danzo harvested his dead family members' bodies for their Sharingan drove him off the deep end. While he might be an asshole most of the time, it's not hard to see why. I don't hate Sasuke for this; Sakura on the other hand...

I will never tire of saying this: Sasuke is a very deep and complex character that many do not allow themselves to appreciate. At least for me, in terms of psychology, development and realism, he has the upper hand and beats the other characters in the play.

I think people hate him is cause his desire changed too much, I kind of understand, but I like it. It makes him unpredictable.

I’m on the opposite side of the spectrum. I’ve loved Sasuke but disliked Naruto. Sasuke has always felt a lot more human and relatable. His ambitions are understandable and has always been what made the series interesting. I’ve never understood Naruto’s motivations. He is loyal to a village and people who shunned him and hurt him. He thinks that people can just peacefully resolve all their solutions yet continually says that he’s going to “beat all that hatred out of Sasuke”. He forgives practically everyone in the village when they haven’t even tried to apologize. Naruto’s ideals are very simple and easy to predict while Sasuke is always changing and evolving. It makes him far more compelling.

Idk why people hate Sasuke. Those who hate him tend to misunderstand his character. He's easily in my top five Naruto characters.

Sasuke gets so much hate because people think he is being a asshole, but I feel bad for him. Sasuke was very innocent and kind from what we could tell before the massacre, but he was psychologically destroyed with his brother torturing him. Using tsykomi was unnecessary even though he wanted to make Sasuke hate him as much as he can. Did he really think making him watch him killing the other uchihas by the person he admired the most wouldn't affect him? Now because of him, Sasuke only can feel hate most of the time but that thankfully changed. His mind got destroyed after killing his brother and finding out he was ordered to do it, I mean wouldn't you want to do the same thing as Sasuke if you were in his shoes? After that, his brother managed to make him not want to destroy the hidden leaf village. Sasuke after the battle with Kaguya doesn't want anyone to go through something remotely as similar to what he had gone through and saw the world was corrupt and so he wanted a revolution.

Many just forgot when he was not a complete sociopath. Kinda like how people forgot that Orochimaru actually cried in canon.

I personally really liked sasuke, he bacame my favorite character throughout the series. The reason for this is I found his resulting emotions and actions frombeing a "hero into a villain", instead of it typically being the other way around, very intriguing. I personally think he is one of the most hardworking characters in Naruto, he, unlike others, doesnt have the hepp from "outside" sources of power, he doesnt have a jinchurki or anything of the sort but instead it was his motivation and his goals that brought him to his power. He didnt have a cliche story and his emotional responses to certain events were on some level relatable. His sadness and sorrow throughout the anime and manga are sometimes overlooked by readers, he went through a lot but still at least had a goal to live. He made mistakes but dont overlook that every character made mistakes, even naruto. Atthe end he realises his mistakes and his crimes and thats the hardest part about everything, living through with all that regret and even doing those acts must be really controversial inside ones head so its a lot harder to be evil then be like his fellow members of team 7. All in all I believe he didnt deserve all the hate and Sasuke had a wonderful character development. Even after all the stereotypical remarks about his "criminal" past in the manga and anime, most of his actions etc are overlooked and right away he is deemed a vilian. As one of my favorite characters I think that there are exceptions to mistakes but then again there are not and it matters what you do with yourself afterwards.

For me it’s that more of the story focused around him and the sharingan than deserved. Furthermore he does get away with things he shouldn’t get away with. He spent at most 4 months with naruto and Sakura in a team, but he did voluntarily betray the leave village, thus coming a high crime. And even 3 years after that, he does just awful things constantly included but not limited to trying to murder all of the main characters. But everyone just forgives him for it. Even during these events naruto and co were way to sympathetic towards him. This made him seem like the narrative tries to force us to love him, despite having little to no redeeming qualities.

Sasuke is my favorite character.

Sasuke really fell in my eyes as a character after Itachi's death. He became an inconsistent character. He goes out of his way and sacrifices his sight to save Karin from burning to death against Killer B. He had a flashback in which he compared Taka to Team 7, indicating how he came to care for them. Then few chapters later completely disregards Karin and tries to kill her, while leaving Suigetsu and Jugo to die. His motivations took a drastic turn without proper exposition. First he wants to destroy the Leaf, then does a quick 180 after a talk with Kages, then wants to become Hokage, then becomes a good guy after a talk with Naruto. In-universe all of this happened in span of few months.

I liked him more than itachi, at least sasuke had good motives for going on a bender

I grew up and realized itachi is the one who made his brother like that.

After him and Itachi defeat Kabuto I feel his character does a confusing 360. We dont know if he *actually* wants the title of Hokage or if he just wants to be the guy everyone hates. To me those really arent the same thing. Especially when most Kage are generally good and Naruto is always saying how strong, popular, and well liked you have to be to be Hokage.

I don't hate sasuke, I understand him he want to revenge his clan just think about his childhood and in the episode when he joined team 7 for the first time, He said that his only goal is to revenge his clan and be stronger than his bro to venge his clan, he said something like that.

My dislike towards Sasuke is a result of Naruto Shippuden being so damn long. I was fine with his multiple changes in direction on a individual basis, but by the time it reached the end and he wanted to be hokage I was burnt out by his antics. I just wanted the damn show to end.

Facts bro! Sasuke's character is one of the best in naruto, his character development was done right throughout the story and the impact he has on the story and naruto is HUGE, you have to at least appreciate his character execution.

Sasuke is a pretty good charakter

I don't like him because he doesn't suffer real consequences for his actions. Basically he goes rouge by joining orochimaru, something that is supposed to get hunter nin and bounty hunters out to kill his ass, then he helps to kill and even tries to kill several people until his snap back, but in the end he is aloud to come back to the place he betrayed, is aloud to walk freely, heck he even still gets married and has a kid with someone he has explicitly tried to kill.

I do not remember anyone hating Sasuke. For as long as I could remember, Sasuke was almost everyone's favorite. This is new to me.

I love Sasuke as a character his character development was awesome he is relatable and his powers are awesome but I do understand why people hate him sometimes he can never shut up about revenge and he can be annoying but I understand why, he has had a fucked up origin and he does annoy people because of his revenge shit but personally I like it.

I'd say most people that hate Sasuke have an insecurity problem, the way his character is written is basically to oppose the main character which is Naruto. It shows pretty clear early on that Naruto was jealous of everything what Sasuke was, so it's understandable when people who watch the series that have some sort of self insert or relate towards Naruto as a character to hate Sasuke. I've always liked Sasuke, even more after his backstory reveal. And hes the cutest :3

short answer: short memory spawn. Or rather, the series is too long, people forget that his cathartic motivation before shimpudden. This soured sasuke for the fandom because the long years created a sense of disconection between sasuke from the beginning and the ass hat from shippuden. My personal opinion is that Itachi killed Sasuke, the simpatetic boy we came to relate and apreciate; shippuden sasuke is what was left of sasuke, seriously Itach is as bad as Illumi from HxH, as smothering love that only destroy.

Everyone loved sasuke and wanted itachi dead by his hand and when he did that everyone loved itachi and hate him xD but one thing people don't get is that how much he love and respect his brother.

My problem with Sasuke is that after he found out about Itachi dilemma he never questioned why he chose to protect the leaf over the clan which had his younger brother, love of his life and the two parents. If Sasuke really loved Itachi he would have only gone after Danzo and left the village alone as the leaf village fed him,housed him and educated him. It's crazy to think that he got treated better by the leaf then Naruto when he literally is a Uchiha. Sasuke basically proved Tobirama right,the type of love Sasuke had for Itachi wasn't pure love but twisted love.

Sasuke is so misunderstood. People treat him like he's Sephiroth or the Joker but in reality, he is so far from them as he killed Orochimaru and freed those prisoners. Anyway, Sasuke is the victim of a government-sanctioned genocide ordered by the Konoha higher ups and he got mentally tortured by Itachi but received zero therapy and was left to take care of himself. Also, the Uchiha were discriminated against by being pushed to the outskirts of Konoha yet they stayed loyal after Madara left, all made into police to increase tension between them and the villagers, all blamed for the 9 tails attack and kept from village politics. Now when he finds out the truth he wants to get his revenge (though harming Konoha innocents may be wrong but Konoha had zero reactions when the Uchiha innocents were harmed) he is treated as "consumed by darkness and hatred" and the real problem like getting the Konoha elders to admit their fault and allow the dead Uchiha justice is completely forgotten and swept under the rug. I honestly thought his revolution and wanting to become Hokage was to change the world for the better and prevent atrocities like his clan's genocide from happening again but instead, Sasuke was sent to prison for a while but those two Konoha elders are allowed to walk free and retain their jobs.

I love Sasuke, but if he were a real person obviously I'd hate him. He's a freaking jerk. But whenever he shows up, you know the fight is going to be awesome. Also, he is very creative in his applications of things we learn about the ninja world and jutsu from his very first appearance. He is cocky, but at least initially, it's easy to see why. It is consistent with the rest of his character. He got too full of himself later on and stopped doing the fancy moves I always loved to see, but I think he is a pretty good character.

Sasuke is my fav character. I like him more that Naruto and I thought that was imposible because I love Naruto so much. I realate with him more than any other character. I have heard thousand of thousand of times to stop being sad and negative and ”just be happy” and ”change your attitude” but I can’t, I’m sick, I suffer from depression and anxeity. I struggle every single day, every minute. It hurts to see people happy, impulsive, having fun. I have heard that people don’t want to be with sad, low selfesteam people that say sorry way to many times. I get that and that is why I hate my self even more because I don’t want you to ”suffer” and I close myself of everyone and makes my illness even more dangerous than it already is. I have a older sister (I’m also a girl) that is good at everything, little like Itachi but in school, games, fotball, drawing, prettier body, friends and so on. I have always felt like a shadow. She is two years older than me and had it really easy learning. When I was little I struggled with reading, everyone in my class chould read and learned fast, I did not. Then some years later my teatcher made me to a dyslexia test and it came out positive. It was painfull to got but after some time I exept that fact and I felt a little better because now I know that ”was the reason I was different” and this situation did not get better after my little sister that is 5 years younger than me said I read to slow to her when I tried to read her to sleep. I always heard my parents talking good of my big sis. She had straight A and I had C at highest and did my best. When we talked football they always said big sis was super good and when I did something good they said ”good job! Just like your sis”. In the middle school I started to think a little more and felt that something was wrong, I unintendedly push away the people around me, my classmates, family, close friends slowly. In 7th grade I finaly went to the school therapist kind of and told her how I feel and think. That was the first time I have ever heard of depression and anxeity as illneses. I have tried medicin, exersice, push the illnes away, meditation, ”just being happy”, trying to socialize, therapy but nothing changes and I still suffer. I can realate with Sasuke and se his truly motivets. Training with others with make you see your weaknesses and the feeling of having a high standard from the start does not make it easier. Naruto was ”a loser” the underdog so people don’t except any from him so he can give them a punch in the face when he becomes good, Sasuke had the Uchiha name on his chest, his father was head of the clan, his brother was a genius. Sasuke has always been a introvert and a little shy. His clan was his safe place. He trusted, loved, looked up to Itachi but still ”hated” him for being that. Sasuke as much as Naruto wanted to be seen, the differences is that Naruto wanted the village to see and Sasuke wanted his family to see him as the one and only Uchiha Sasuke and not only ”Itachi’s brother”. The Uchiha massacre made him a full blown introvert. As a person with anxeity I know how scary it is to lose a safe place and I can’t imagen the fear and the suffer he must have been truth that night. People say that Naruto understand Sasuke when Jiraya dies but Naruto did not know Pain, Itachi was the closest person to Sasuke. His trust must been shatterd as well. Pushing away people like Sasuke did is understandable. We suffer from bonds and letting people in again is hard, putting out your cards on the table is much harder that faking a smile and keeping a facade. In Sasukes case is him telning himself and others that he is strongest and best and yada yada... like what people say after a Suicide ”he/her seamed fine and happy” is like the people that is ignorante and hating on in this case Sasuke and don’t look for the details which in case is shown in the show what means it is easier to see than it in in real life with Suicide because there is no sighs in who is suisidal. I have a close Bond with suicide, I have tried and has Suicidal thoughts near every day.

I don’t get why people hate him, but love characters like Obito, darth maul, etc. they all technically have very similar backstories. And Sasuke has to be my favorite villian of all time. Right up there with the likes of Vader and Sephiroth. You’re not supposed to agree with his actions you’re not supposed to look at him as a hero, you’re supposed to view him as a villian. And everything he does in shippuden becomes way cooler and way more badass when u do. He is the coolest character.
