Dad and I dive into Cascadia. Does it live up to the hype? Is this tile laying family game going to stick around? Is the simple puzzle of placement worthy of being rated #57 on Board Game Geek?
We don't know, but we will at least try to tell you what we like and don't like about Cascadia.

1. Great game! Happy to recommend good games! 2. Better post when you have something to say than so often that you run out of content. I wish we could post more but so far this is a good pace. 3. Congrats … playing with the fam is great fun. All the son in laws are showing up this Christmas and we will undoubtedly have some time around the table

Great playthrough, great review! I think you're underselling the fox a bit: because a second fox counts as a unique animal for scoring, you can link the rings together and be halfway to maxing out another fox. Plus in the late game you can just grab a fox and plop it almost anywhere for a quick 2,3,4 points which as you know can put you over the top! Foxes are especially handy if your opponent is laser-focused on running salmon or elk, meaning you'll only get a couple of each - may as well get some points for them.

I think you are spot on. The easy points is what you have to look for. I have a tendency to discount the fox because he doesn’t always make those points but I need to pay attention. I was amazed at how close our game was and a fox will not be a zero. Great points and well said.
