After using this Tineco Floor One S5 Pro vacuum mop for a few months, we started to notice a bad smell every time we turned it on. While the vacuum does a good job at cleaning it self on the stand, every once and a while junk can build up on the air filter, brush roller, and inner tubes that can leave a bad odor. In this video I'll show you how I got rid of that smell and will link below some of the replacement parts I use to keep the vacuum smelling fresh.

I clean it every time - it’s the HEPA filter that smells the most. Only using water just doesn’t cut it. Roller smells too, I just soak that in hot water and vinegar.

I have this Tineco Vacuum Mop and it only smells if I don't clean it. The instructions indicate that it should be cleaned after every use which I do. I clean the dirty water tank, empty the clean water if any was left and I remove the roller. Even the roller, if you just remove it and let it air dry, it will not smell. I have like 3 replacement rollers and when I use one I then leave it to air dry and in the next clean I use another one. Also the dirty water tank takes literally 30 seconds to clean so I clean it after every use and dry it superficially and let it air dry completely as well. Never, ever smells. I think you will find that if you don't clean it after every use, the dirty water tank will stink after the very first day. Try it! If you notice the smell without opening it then it means it hasn't been cleaned in a very long time. Like I say, just ONE day of use, if you don't empty and clean after the self clean cycle, try opening it and see how it stinks. I have 3 of these the S3, S5 Pro & S7 Pro) because I run out of battery power to clean my whole house. My floor is white shinny Porcelanico, lovely to look at but awful to clean with a normal mop especially when you have dogs that drip water everywhere or scoot their bums all over the place, LOL. These machines have made my life so much easier. I only use a normal mop every couple of weeks under the furniture where these don't reach because as long as it's clear of dust the floor under there is clean. Also, you will find that the stink is less if you have already vacuumed or have one of those robot vacuums and then use these as mops over fairly clean floor. But if you are mopping and vacuuming at the same time and make it pick up all the hair, food, dirt etc then it will smell the very next day. Having said all this I GREATLY APPRECIATE your idea of using the Aquarium cleaner as you are right , the brush they supply won't go all the way through. I only use my S3 to pick up hair, spills and rubbish on the floor, never my other two. I take very good care of those two. Too expensive so I want them to last. Thank you for your video.

I just purchased mine - I used it twice last week and rinsed the roller and let it air dry both times - it already stinks!!!! I ran the clean cycle before rinsing it too.

@@aliannae-z8k Hi, Is it just your roller smelling or the dirty water tank too? I always use another roller even if the one I just used is dry. Always alternating. I find that if my floor is vacuumed first it smells a lot less. When the roller has dried for days, meaning you alternate with others you’ll find the smell is gone. Also, I never store the rollers on the machine. I have a small bucket where I store them upright & even the dirty water tanks & all the bits & pieces not put together so it’s always fresh. Once you get into the habit it’s not a chore. Normal mops will also smell if not cleaned and dried, the difference is people don’t usually go around smelling them LOL. ☺️

Thanks. It's just the roller that smells. Will see if alternating helps.@@conchitaquilt3626

I just purchased a new S5 Extreme. Thanks for explaining the importance of disassembling and cleaning it thoroughly after every use, however, when do you recommend putting it in the "self-cleaning cycle"?
@conchitaquilt3626
@conchitaquilt3626 5 месяцев назад
@@dawnbetts1 Hi Dawn, you should SELF CLEAN after every use because it will get all the grime out of the tube and will also clean the roller. Basically empty the dirty water tank once you finish cleaning and make sure you have at least half a tank of clean water in the clean water tank. Then just place it on the base and self clean. My S5 Pro2 has two options of self clean, the 3 minutes or the 6 minutes options. Once it’s finished disassemble, rinse and dry or let air dry. Aside from the SELF CLEAN, the rinsing literally takes less than a minute. You will do it automatically and quickly in no time. It is worth disassembling and drying because it will definitely avoid smells. I think once you get used to it, you will only use a regular mop to get to tight places the Tineco won’t reach. Also, when you use it, try not to incline it too far back towards you or it will drop water. The instructions mention this. If you didn’t vacuum first you will find the water is A LOT MORE DIRTIER and will therefore smell more but nothing that a good self clean, rinse and dry can’t fix. I personally leave it disassembled until the next use. You get faster at assembling and cleaning as you go. Let me know if you have anymore questions. I hope you enjoy using it. It is faster, leaves no tracks on my mirror-like porcelanico and you only use the water you need. Also, you’re always moping up with CLEAN WATER unlike a regular bucket which is only clean at the beginning. ☺️

You should be cleaning it out after a whole house cleaning, or long time in between use. Sitting water and gunk will stink in a few days sitting in Tineco.

Anyone know how to clean the clean water tank? Mine is starting to build mold.
@marissacoleman813
@marissacoleman813 Месяц назад
I just cleaned mine. Use a skinny bottle brush and gently scrub sides with soapy water. HOWEVER be careful not to dislodge the little filter on the bottom. I did from scrubbing too rough and its a pain to put back on. Also try soaking the inside with straight vinegar water to disinfect and deodorize

hello, I'm interested in which of these two models is better and which one you recommend before I buy if the price is the same Tineco ifloor 5 or Tineco Floor ONE S3 thx so much :)

They will both clean the same, but the ifloor 5 breeze has bigger tanks than the s3, so I’d go with the ifloor 5 for the price. The ifloor 5 breeze is very similar to the s5 in this video but doesn’t have the extra electronic features like the iloop sensor, but for the price gives you the same cleaning power and run time. amzn.to/3yO6dsR

It’s like using a carpet cleaner, disassemble and dry the parts before using again. Totally beats picking up a heavy bucket if you have mobility issues.

I’ve actually never tried deep cleaning the roller. If mine got that bad I just replaced it. The replacements that I listed in the description from Amazon aren’t too expensive. You could try mixing up a bleach and water solution and soak the roller in it overnight then rinse it off thoroughly. That may help.

@Type5Reviews I did this but mine got full of water and now that stinks. Any idea gow to get the water out? I've only had this thing 2 weeks and have used it minimally and for very small things, no real nasty spills. It smells SO BAD. I run a clean cycle frequently, so I'm not sure what is happening.
@conchitaquilt3626

Just rinse it after use, squeeze out excess water and NEVER store it on the machine wet. Always let it air dry and alternate rollers so you’re always using a fully dried one

@@conchitaquilt3626I just got mine and I love it. The instructions make it look like one end of the roller comes off, which would prevent water from building up on the inside. Does one end actually come off?
@conchitaquilt3626
@conchitaquilt3626 8 месяцев назад
@@ecoamy49 Hi, which model do you have? The Tineco Floor One S3 the roller is placed in between two side panels and is removed by lifting upward. That roller is sealed on both ends. As it has the panels on both sides it doesn’t quite clean up close to the skirting board. The Tineco S5 has only one side panel and the roller is removed by sliding it toward the side that doesn’t have a side panel. It is also sealed and is similar to the S3 on one side but the other side has a long lever. The side that has the long lever is the side WITHOUT a side panel so when cleaning if you put that side next to the skirting board it has a “closer” clean. The Tineco S7 has NO SIDE PANELS so either side will clean closely to the skirting board. The roller is similar to the S5 in that it is removed by pulling toward the side instead of upward like the S3. This roller also has a long lever BUT it is hollow on the inside which means no water can get trapped in it. Having said that, none of my rollers from the S3 or S5 have had water trapped in them. I hope that was helpful to you. ☺️

I hate it. Couldn't get rid of the bad smell in my filter so I replaced it. Now, I spend more time cleaning it than using it. Those washing vacuums really really suck. Now, I’d rather use regular mop.

It just goes to show u are too dumb to utilise such machines. I have the tineco s7pro , Dreame h12 pro and Dibea HC26. Tineco used 3 months, Dreame 1 month and HC26 7 days all of which do not stink. Maintenance is key. Maintaining these is rather fast compared to mops. Well go back to using those traditional items then but saying they stink are baseless it just shows you are dirty as a person. 😂

I highly recommend something like the cordless Bissel SpinWave. It takes the hard work out of mopping. No buckets or maintenance, and the mop heads can just be washed in the washing machine or replaced

how do you know when to replace the roller?
@Type5Reviews
@Type5Reviews Год назад
I’ve only ever replaced the roller if it significantly starts to smell. But to be honest I really haven’t had to replace it that much. I’ve probably replaced it 3 times in this last year that I’ve had it from not cleaning the vacuum promptly enough, so I do think they last pretty long if taken care of. Replacement rollers are pretty cheap too on Amazon. I’d imagine if I saw lots of streaks on the floor or it was leaving the floor wetter than normal those may be good signs to replace the roller as it could be wearing out at that point.
