Happy for everyone who told her story. Now that so many personal stories were told, answer your own question! Why does a rather conservative, loosely-populated state have so many lesbian bars?
that comma after now is inappropriate. the structure where that would be appropriate would be used in a way that shows you are no longer talking about a different timeframe. something like "last year's homecoming theme, caveman, resulted in 34 of the 80 girls in attendance being knocked out and dragged out of the dance by their hair. now, let's find a less problematic theme for this year where none of the girls feel left out."
It is a sign of affluence and diversity. Oklahoma has always had many tribal ethnicities. I think the oil boom is getting in their heads. Oklahoma is the hub of the strategic petroleum reserve even if they don't pump much of the oil there.
Yeah, I live in Oklahoma. Never heard of these bars. But Oklahoma is expanding in many areas. There is a huge Latino population over here with there own clubs and various restaurants too.
I pray that GOD have mercy on your SOUL. This is an ABOMINATION before the eyes of the LORD. MANKIND SHOULD NOT LAY WITH MANKIND.........THIS IS IN GODS HOLY WORD. Please repent and allow GOD to wash and make you clean. It's almost midnight, and the door is about to SHUT.
Believe me they're trying to get away from all men they don't want you to hang out if you're 60 years old LOL even though we might like to . Good couple of deep throat kisses
There use to be a lot more lesbian bars. The reason many of them got shut down was because a lot of straight male autogynophiles started identifying as transbians and forced their way into lesbian bars. When they were consistently rejected, they had these places shut down on "discrimination" grounds. One of the many ways the gender cult destroys everything it touches.
Her remarks about Oklahoma being unfairly written off are so true. My in-laws are from Oklahoma, and my formerly Midwestern, coastal transplant family doesn't believe me when I talk about the transformative things I've seen on visits to OKC and Tulsa. Sure, the state produces some pretty red Republicans, but it also produced my wife, who is decidedly NOT.
Oh, thank you for taking us on this trip around the Lesbian bars in Oklahoma....at least some of them.....too many to cover them all apparently......I never would have imagined that Oklahoma would be such a safe haven for us.....I live in Northern Ca. and we don't have hardly any spots like this north of the Bay Area, sigh......Anyway, I hope to come visit you sisters sometime......and Party!!!😃🤩🥰

This is a great document of how a community can survive and now thrive. Adults just need to be left alone to love who they choose. I think this is beautiful.
You want to be loud, but unfortunately the things you're loud about and the young audience you've made mission to entertain will never be societally acceptable.
0:45 am I the only one who feels uncomfortable to have the American flag have a rainbow on it? I mean, someone’s identity should not be as high as your country which soldiers before you fought for.
@@jilewa That doesn’t mean you have the right to do that to the flag. A flag is important to the people. It represents you and your country, it’s supposed to always be the highest flag. But to do that to a flag with something like a sexuality is an insult to the soldiers who bravely fought for you. A flag is always the most important for a country. You don’t have the right to do that to it. There’s a reason why the flag is always highest. What you identify as and what you love does NOT deserve to be as high as the American flag.
It's so distasteful the way younger generations have appropriated slurs like qu**r and d*ke and use them so casually. Older LGB people suffered so much harrassment and hate with those slurs. These younger folks need to show some respect.
And for those of you psycos who still believe that the United States was founded as a Christian nation, here's a fraction of quotes in refutation of that erroneous notion, DIRECTLY from the Founding Fathers.... "In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own." -- Thomas Jefferson "The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe with blood for centuries." -- James Madison "The Bible: a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind." -- Thomas Paine "Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise.... During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What have been its fruits? More or less, in all places, pride and indolence in the clergy; ignorance and servility in laity; in both, superstition, bigotry, and persecution." -- James Madison "This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it." -- John Adams "The United States of America should have a foundation free from the influence of clergy." -- George Washington "Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law." -- Thomas Jefferson "All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit." -- Thomas Paine And in closing..... "He's the most ethical person I've ever known" -- Alina Habba 🤣
It's so funny most of the comments are of people that have never heard of this, but don't like it. If you have never heard of it before now, then it didn't affect your life in any way directly. As far as religious people, leave them alone. It's up to God and not you how people live their lives, so stay out of it. I love how people think their beliefs entitle them to harass or do whatever it takes to destroy what others have built based on a belief system when it has not affected you directly in any way.
It affects the generations to come. No it doesn't affect anyone directly, I less they are homophobic and can't handle it. I'm tired of people thinking Christians are homophobic.
GOD said in his word that this life style and ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS IS SIN. This goes against the NATURAL ORDER that GOD created. I AM CALLING IT, LIKE I SEE IT....ABOMINABLE. GOD HATES SIN...I PRAY THAT YOU BE READY FOR HIS RETURN.
@user-fu3vg5cu8z It's tight, but it's right. If the righteous do not warn the WICKED of his ways and see the sword coming. Their blood will be on the righteous person hand. So, since I know better and understand the ERROR of their ways, and by letting them know that this is wrong, their blood is on their hands if YOU and THEM DON'T REPENT. Yes, religious people are CONCERNED....NOT JUDGEMENTAL. We know what the end will be........AND THAT IS DESTRUCTION.
@laurakrajnikburick2731 yes of course. I just have all this vivid mental imagery of like lesbian farmers' markets, lgbtqia+ carnivals, transgender block parties 🥳. ( not sure if these are real events just things i have imagined I have hyperphantasia and adhd )

Awesome! I never would have imagined that OK would have so many Lesbian bars. It seems to be so primitive. I guess my first thought was, "Why don't you leave this horrible state?" But my second thought was, "What a great thing you're doing creating a safe space for LGBT!+ people!" Why don't you run for office?
Omg this is such crap. There are no lesbians that get to be “exactly who they are”. The politics inside these communities to conform to specific social agendas is intense.
This celebrates promiscuity not your right to be a lesbian. Everyone can be who they want to be, but lately being LGBT means being loud, promiscuous, etc...You are the first responsible for most people to reject LGBT.
This video reminds me of one of best places I have ever been in my life. Chances in Austin, Texas in the late 1980's and early 1990's. A great lesbian bar that was accepting of all. It was magical. Very fond memories.

@@AnnBearForFreedom Are customers legally allowed to carry a firearm inside a bar? If they aren’t, then no - they are not immediately ready to deal with the most conceivable of 21st-century threats.
@@AnnBearForFreedom In Oklahoma people have guns and the ability to carry them. Anyone that tries to start trouble in any establishment will end up with lead poisoning.
Yea America NEEDS lesbian farmers! Why do they feel that they have achieved something great in life??!! And, besides that.. this whole video is about "I want, i want, i want,..."
Because when you have been denied what you want for so much of your life, the natural inclination is to go find places where you can want what you want. Not that you would understand that or are even here to understand anyone.
Olkahona is just like rest USA - shortage of menpower, american men are no men physically & spiritually, the new generarion to replace this mud is small & no good too!
i think your statement would come across if you added the qualifier "specifically" in between "for" and "meant" That being said, what exactly are you trying to accomplish by saying that? can you open a straight themed bar? uh, duh. you're going to have to find some sort of representation of heteronormativity. but really what do you think that would be? now if you actually there is some hypocrisy to be found there, when you finally hit 21 you will understand that you can go in any bar without being denied service. likewise, any bar not built specifically for lesbians is still going to be ok with them coming in.
"OK Governor signs gender-affirming care ban for kids." The bar owner refers to this as "a trans law that's devastating." Really? Do what you want with each other but leave the kids alone. Let them take a few years to reach the age of consent before dealing with the range of problems associated with puberty blockers or having any irreversible surgeries. My God, why is there even a debate about this?
If you really are concerned with children-ALL children-then that includes trans kids as well. Please do some research on the subject: Puberty blockers are reversible (and are given to non-trans kids on a regular basis and no one complains)... and they aren't doing surgeries on minors. And nothing gets done without a lot of medical professionals and often like 2 years' worth of testing and counseling. These measures are not taken lightly or quickly and can often be lifesaving. I also don't know why there is a debate, as this has been saving trans kids' lives and making their lives better for years now. I agree there shouldn't be a debate, yet politicians suddenly have their panties in a bunch about it.
Parents have reported their kids will commit suicide with out it. What would you do, chain the kid to concrete and feed him annally? Or maybe one of those Christian shock therapy treatments with real electricity?
@@EricaGametYOU should do your research, if you did you'd know the fda warns they can cause brain swelling and vision loss and thousands of people have filed lawsuits because they experience negative side effects from those same drugs decades later.
because if we don't push the facts that one day we will die, soon after that everyone who ever knew us will be dead, and eventually all mankind will be extinct and it will mean absolutely nothing to the universe, then our existing won't have meaning for the only people who actually do matter.
I love this. I'm from OK and still have family there, but this in a way promises more hope that it could be a place I could live in again... and I'm a straight white guy... haha| My favorite takeaway was at the end, where a piece of merch has the line: "Be careful who you hate, It could be someone you love". So true in more aspects than this.
The only thing to hate about this is the report's complete failure to answer the very question in its title. Having dozens of people state how happy they are that such places exist does not explain why there are so many such places in an area where you least expect it.
3:01 - Hi Alibi, you dont need to double down in the Christianity, you need to repent from sin(s). Thats the hardest thing to do to “repent” which is to turn around and walk away from any bad thing you are continually doing.
@mercinalady2040 no, they all understood what you were trying to say. Just most also know that grooming doesn't happen from the LBTQ community than any other community type.
I see you have bought into this conspiracy theory that the LGBTQI community groom kids. In fact it’s less prevalent among LGBTQI people than straight cis people.
It's so strange watching people saying that they have a place where they can be what they are, because we always take it for granted. We normally think that we are free everywhere to be what we are. It's like watching people rejoicing the fact that they are free. I have many lesbian friends and we never even noticed that this was a different thing. Of course, I don't live in USA. I hope they accept people whatever they are. The is already full of discrimination. People can be what they want. I only feel strange when they want to be a dog, dress like a dog and goes shopping. But who knows... 🎉🎉❤
In the states, almost no one will bother you for being a lesbian. Most people value your freedom to live your life as you see fit, even if they personally disagree with how you're living it. However, the U.S. tends to be less open about sexuality than other liberal democracies. In this video, a woman showed her breasts with just a sticker over her nipples. This would be frowned upon at most bars in the states, regardless of if someone is straight or lesbian. IMO, that's what this is all about. It's pretty safe to be a lesbian just about anywhere in the country, but it's not necessarily safe to be so openly sexual. People view this as anything from mildly annoying to seriously harmful to society, particularly if it involves children. It probably doesn't help that LBGTQ+ has a distinct brand that has political overtones. In the past, you knew someone was a lesbian because she had short hair, baggy pants and as t-shirt of her favorite baseball team. Now, it's all about pride flags and rainbows, which are associated with controversial topics like using puberty blockers on minors who are suffering from gender dysphoria.
@@JZ909 I have lived on three coasts of the U.S. and I have known quite a few lesbians only one of which came anywhere close to your stereotyped description. She and her wife have been married since the day it became legal.
@@lynemac2539 I've known plenty as well. The baggy pants, short hair and baseball t-shirt is a description of my old roommate, and in the past, about half the lesbians I knew had a style like that. The other half had a more feminine style and I wouldn't be able to tell if I didn't know them personally. Of course both of us are dealing with low sample sizes. My experience may be an anomaly, or yours might be. The pride flags everywhere certainly isn't representative of all lesbians. Many just want to live a quiet life with their partner, like anyone else, but there seem to be a lot of younger folks who want their sexuality out there in a very public way, and I think they're the folks that are struggling with feeling welcome.
Being overweight or not attractive to men or growing up a Tom boy doesn't make you lesbian. Plus in life for the rest of us, the bar scene isn't usually a good place to meet quality people. You're gonna tend to meet bad elements of society. The vast vast majority of the time that I met a woman in a bar she had more than her fair share of problems. The quality people for potential mate that I've met in life were at school, in Trader Joe's, at a church event, through a friend or at a friend's party - where everyone generally knows the people or at least the friends or family of people.
I'm sure you know people's sexualities better than they do 🙄 Sounds like you've been rejected by a lot of women claiming to be lesbians who aren't. Maybe work on being more attractive to women?
That is a story. It may or may not be based on real events. I doubt anybody was turned into a pillar of salt. You are using a story that was written by a man at least 6,000 years ago to justify your hate. Christians should consult the New Testament, they should emulate Christ. They'll never meet his standard, but they should at least try to follow his teachings. Jesus would never persecute gays or lesbians.
@doesitevenmatter3516 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate [by perversion], nor those who participate in homosexuality
Watching this as a lifelong Oklahoman is both absolutely heart warming and amazing AND shocking. I only say shocking because the Oklahoma I know is hateful, hate filled, backwards, intolerant, etc where the majority of politicians are deep red willfully ignorant and poorly educated who continue to be re elected by voters who routinely vote against their own best interest because they fall for the hate and fear mongering we see from the GopQ
Would you be saying the same if this was about a bunch of pedophiles? A line has to be drawn somewhere and we are getting really bad at drawing lines and I have already seen people make similar comments about pedophiles. "Oklahoma I know is hateful, hate filled, backwards, intolerant, etc", here is the problem, you are making this into an ideological value driven argument (in part to prove that you are a good person and follow the tenants of your faith) and not a rational discussion about whether these things are good or bad for society and the eventually leads to people accepting things that are harmful both physically and mentally so they can stick with the ideology and not be ostracized.
Can you then answer the question asked in the title of this video, that it so blatantly fails to answer? Why is it that this rural, "hateful, backwards, intolerant, deep-red state" has so many lesbian bars?
Like SODOM AND GOMORRAH, utter destruction is coming that way. It is time to WAKE OUT OF SLEEP and repent of your SINS. Jesus is coming sooner than you think. GET READY...........
My two cents. "For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;" Romans 1:26
Well in Ancient Rome and Greece places like that were nation wide, and pretty soon after that both Empires fell down. I wish your country has such places at each single corner. ASAP
This is great! And you don’t have to “fight” politics. Join in and find shared values. Something was done right to get things to this point so there may be a good foundation to work with.
For those who came to criticize, i think there may be some confusion. Why take the time to view this video if it bothers you? This behavior is reminiscent of those who, for example, get caught with a great deal of the same 'titillating' product they are railing against as 'immoral', but excuse it by saying "i was just trying to be informed to spread information, i wasn't actually enjoying it". I watch to inform people who feel dejected whom i care about that there are loving communities out there, and that they are not alone. Weaponizing a religion is not the answer & neither is viewing something that you feel disturbs you so. I would doubt that whomever G*d exists, that they would install you as their authority on that which he/she hopes to build. For those that just wish to spread hate? You need to dig deep my friend because people like you always makes me recall the expression from the great William Shakespeare "Me Thinks Thou Dost Protest Too Much". Think about it.
@jdsciano "Why take the time to view this video if it bothers you?" People watch videos all the time that bother them - its called being aware of your surroundings. For example, if the local news warns you about a serial killer in their neighborhood. Or the dangers of predators in Kruger National Park. William Shakespeare said "Me Thinks Thou Dost Protest Too Much." I am pretty sure that it also applies to you.
