Love, love, love magnesium. It takes cranky family members and makes them chill. They have the same idiosyncracies but are much more pleasant. Important point about magnesium necessary for D3 but K2 is also absolutely essential. Now that D3 is working with magnesium it is important to point out the necessity of K2, and even A for that matter.

What's crazy is vegetables are lower in magnesium than u might think. Greens are green cause of chlorophyll, because of magnesium. But a bowl of kale only has 6percent daily value of around 20 some milligrams. A bowl of spinach has more, around 150 mg, but is high in oxalates so it's likely poorly absorbed... All good sources except for maybe some beans and fish, have oxalates. Nuts, spinach, chocolate. But if u drink high magnesium water, the vitamin k certainly helps

Critical info. K2 is what gets calcium out of the blood and into your bones, otherwise it's just calcifying your arteries. As far as I understand it, anyways.

I swear not even doctors knows this. They check the blood " oh deficiency on vit D" let's give patient vit D.

Yep. It is better than nothing, but yeah they never seem to mention co-factors which confuses me. I’m no doctor, but it makes sense that upping one vitamin/mineral will deplete another.

I really love this clear-cut on vicicious circle of deficiency in magnesium, vit.D etc... Most of us underestimate the role of Magnesium just function as relaxing agent.... Really happy to know that magnesium has critical roles in controling Calcium n vit d absorption n activation. You do great job, Dude

Took the Mag SRT and after a week I had chronic stomach ache and pain that was almost debilitating. Stopped taking it and after three or four days it faded away completely. Back to KAL Magnesium Taurate now - it’s simply the best and cleanest mag supplement out there.

always sort out your bad gut health before depending on pills of any kind to save your health. I bypass bad gut health Vit D / K2 patches. Recently i switched to quality multi vitamin patch.

Vitamin d deficiency 22 Potassium 3.7 B12 260 Calcium levels 9.2 Wasn't checked magnesium Suppose my blood is little low Sodium level 2 point low I had leg and knee pain last 6 week. Nurse never did call me tell what dose should be taken. Tired having these symptoms 😫 never had symptoms like this before usually have alot energy and feel great

I'm taking D3 + K2 supplement so do I need to add magnesium or is the D3 good enough?

D needs K to be absorbed, mag activates the D. No mag, D won’t work, it’ll be stored until it has enough mag to work. Best mag for D activation is Malate. Best mag for brain function and memory is mag l-threonine.

I take D3 and K2 too as part of a daily multivitamin that has both. I would take magnesium too since it has so many health benefits in general and because it's a bulky metal, it cannot really fit into a multivitamin. So taking a separate magnesium pill helps. And magnesium does help with vitamin D absorption.

How much Magnesium do you need per 1000 IU of vitamin D (D3)? I can't find any ratio information backed by research ANYWHERE on the internet. I have read over 30 papers and my eyes are crossed.

@@kikoo6043 No I did not find the answer. And others have said to ask my doctor. But my doctor is not familiar with high dosing of D3 so she doesn't know. They don't really know much about nutrition as she said they only spend about 2-3 weeks total in med school on nutrition. They check for a deficiency of vitamin D and that is about as far as they go. For now I am going to take twice the RDA of magnesium since I take 2000 IU of D3 a day. (IDK ?) Really surprised this answer is so hard to find.

@@tonyastairs8133 Thank you Tonya for the info. That helps a lot. And Yes I have been on the K2 for quite a while now but didn't know it had anything to do with D3. I was just taking it b/c I heard it was great for arterial health and plaque in the arteries over time. That's interesting. Good luck on the flashes and tuning in your dose.

Magnesium is super for a bunch of physiological functions in the body, so I would take a separate magnesium pill on top of a regular multivitamin that contains both D3 and K2.

Not quite true: The ACTIVE form of Vitamin D is .... CALCITRIOL! A blood test for 25(OH)D provides a useful indicator of how deficient or sufficient we may be. But ultimately, it is Calcitriol that supports our immune system plus many other functions as mentioned in this video.

I tested both vit d and magnessium, i have low vit d, 30ng, but normal magnessium 2.07, should i take magnessium or just d3?

You can still be low in magnesium, but have normal blood magnesium as the vast majority of magnesium is stored in bodily tissue. A blood test is worthless unless one suspects true hypomagnesemia. You absolutely need to take magnesium with vitamin D as vitamin D uses up available magnesium. Compounded with the fact that most people are deficient in magnesium without taking vitamin D, you should definitely be taking magnesium.

@@sawlfo 10,000iu vitamin D, K for absorption, magnesium malate to activate vitamin D (sometimes comes with calcium too). Cod liver oil for fatty acid for the vitamin D.

​​@David Albro if the blood tests are inaccurate and how would you know where levels are at how do you know if you're not overdoing it with the Magnesium?. My vitamin D levels were at 6 the doctor put me on 50000 units a week. How much magnesium should I take without any ill effects

I have done 2 mineral tests. 1 was a blood test and the other was an Oligoscan. My blood test showed my magnesium levels were normal and so were my vitamin D levels despite being on the lower end. While my Oligoscan showed I am deficient in both. Test results can be conflicting and contradictory. So 'm supplementing now.

I take Vegan Vitality which is a multivitamin that has both D3 and K2. Because magnesium is a bulky metal, a lot of multivitamins do not contain a large %age of it, so you can take a magnesium supplement on the side (I take Country Life magnesium). Good luck to you!

Get blood work done. Electrolytes magnesium/potassium/sodium inversely affect each other. Meaning, to much of one depletes the others. For instance, salt on its own is necessary, when you take too much it causes problems because it depletes the body's magnesium and potassium. Since most don't sprinkle potassium and magnesium on their foods daily, it's portrayed as a bad mineral. Electrolyte imbalance, not any one mineral is dangerous. Check your levels and supplement accordingly.
