Do u happen to know if the date stamped on the bottom of their fertilizers are "use by dates" or "manufacturers date?" I just bought a couple value packs in boxes and it didn't have a date on the box but when I opened it, they are all dated for about a yr ago. Its very unclear if its expired or not! I was really looking forward to using them, but now I'm skeptical! If u know please share your wisdom!🙏 ❤🌱
You realize this guys “ethics” told him to release 500 invasive Chinese mantis egg sacks into the wild. The ones that eat our native , snakes , lizards , and humming birds. Morals and ethics for days. Hahahahahaha
Best GYG episode EVER! So interesting to hear the specifics about why certain ingredients are or aren't used. I bought some of the liquid fertilizer sprays for the first time in the past year when I saw them at Grocery Outlet, and discovered that I could use them on my houseplants without making the place stink! I also noticed how perky my plants were within a couple of hours. I don't use many store bought products (I have my own backyard chickens and make my own Humanure compost) but I am now a Dr Earth fan for life. (As long as you don't sell the company to some soulless corporation, that is.)
For my soil based garden. I make my own worm castings, mixed with coffee grounds, ground egg shells, dried and fine chopped potato skins and dried ground oak leaves. My soil is infused with fine sawdust bedding and sawdust from mu wood shop. All this decay causes nitrogen and related. My garden grows insanely. Cost is zero for fertilizer.
if my suspisioun is correct, worm casting is still the best but when or rather if you raised up high in the money business, quality is not that important and making money without effort is more and more imporatnt. no wonder, it warns against the trap in the desire to be rich in the holy bible, Gods inspired Word - the lessin in love as Jesus Christ is said to have called it trough a modern day priophet(bertha dudde
@@jesuschristislordoflordsan427 bertha dudee to you my friend. Great reply. People need to hear the spank of the prophet to bring back the love of peace over the love of money. It’s better to wash your clothes than to lose your soul. Peace and love. Bertha dethe 👠
I make my own compost, with the fall out from an acre partially bordered by leafy trees, and lawn, wood dust from my shop, ash from my wood stove, and of course, green food scraps. My beds are added as I have the material to use 100%. Lots of worms every where in my yard and in my compost. I use the cardboard and no till method. Awesome food of the gods, have been the result. Thanx John for your dedication and drilling home the goodness and deliciousness of home grown vegies. YUM.
Fantastic interview. I have been a Dr. Earth fan for several years, and pretty much don’t use any other brand of soils and fertilizers. But it was really interesting to hear the company’s history.
I love everything about this. I'm sold. I've seen Dr. Earth products at my local Sutherland's, which has fantastic plant sales in the spring! I would LOVE to see Milo's home garden and the Dr. Earth facility!
I’m so grateful for this video! My greenhouse store near me carries these products and I had no idea how great they are!!! Going to pick some up now! 😃
love this episode. I can't believe I literally just went to the nursery today but didn't know what to buy. I am ordering Dr. Earth today. awesome episode
Excellent interview John! i've been strictly using Fox Farms potting mixes and products for years. After watching Milo I am definitely going to add his product line. I love how conscientious he is about doing the right thing for everyone and for the plants and earth. :) Sheryl
I just started using Dr earth products because a few people recommend the brand to me. I was surprised when i read the bag and learned it contained beneficial microbes and thats what sealed the deal for me. I amend my soil and coco with many of the products they offer.
Dr earth is great, but i also use fish fertilizer and seaweed fertilizer. I rotate. My plants get huge leaves and lots of flowers. I also chop and drop and use coco coir as mulch also, since my climate is very, very dry. I also grow microgreens, so we always have leafy greens and sprouts to eat. Everybody should grow at least a little bit.
Be careful, lots of fish has heavy metals.. heavy metals can be high in organic as they rarely test for mercury , lead, and such.. look up all legit products on washington state fertilizer search.. it will show chemical tests and ppm of each mineral like lead and arsenic also! Do NOT USE SEABIRD GUANO, IT IS SO BAD for heavy metals
The 5-5-5 life mix makes EXCELLENT compost tea, and I especially like it for the lactobacillus acidophilus. I use 3 4lb bags per 55 gallon barrel. I add fulvic, fish hydro, and liquid kelp. Under the microscope I get more concentration of life than I do my green based compost i made with grass clippings and sawdust. I will ALWAYS use doctor earth now instead of compost in my teas.
I use Dr. Earth and this video has reassured me that i have chosen correctly. I grow medicinal cannabis in the Missouri Ozarks and will only use organic non gmo products.
This was great!! Milo, great story, friendly, well spoken 👍. Im not a "gardener" i grow weed in my closet (with dr Earth!) but i respect a man that does his own gardening. Very cool.
I am grateful to be passionate about organic fertilizers. This is my first year of.....but won’t go back to other. I enjoy knowing the science of growing things and cooking healthy foods. Fun for me. Ahna
Dr. Earth is by far the best amendments that money can buy! I love his products! They really have impressed me when it comes to organic amendments and fertilizing! He's a genius!
Great idea to save bags to put your mixed soils to keep it moist. I was considering buying big tubs but that takes up more room and not cheaper either. Use for plastic mulch, or use the bags for a grow bags.
I use Dr. earth on all my fruit trees, and want to know where I can get it in 50 pound bags. Love the stuff, let me know if I can because I'm going to use it all through the orchard, let me know. Thanks.🍒🍒🍒
Doctor Earth I haven't started using your products as of yet but I'm sure they are great I just want you to know I love your dream and story I love gardening but I only do flowers you give hope to the small dreamer keep up the good work!
Great videooo everyone should bebwatching this,, specially the art in which he explains why he needed to get rid of bat güano and other amendments that are really not that viable. Great man Dr. Earth you are one of the Best!!!!!
I think he is pretty legit. Generally thought so--but I always wondered. I love the story. I like several brands...when I do use inputs or supplements and not my own compost or soil--his is among them. Probably more likely to take his products off the shelves now that I know a little more of the story. Environmentally conscious. Congrats, Milo !
John you are so funny! I just watched you on this other guys channel and it was so entertaining! People are over there commenting and they claim you’re over 60! Lol. I think it’s funny! You do look great but my common sense tells me that you are no way over 60. Lol keep up the good work in sharing a healthy life style!
I am sitting here putting his planting soil mix in pots. Then this popped up .I found this on sale and bought what I could. Now on sale again and I am gona get more.
I know i'm super late on this video, but if anybody knows where to get one of those doctor earth's little magazine pamphlet, things that would be super cool
Hi John, i have a question . I am just about to use Dr Earth for a grow with some auto’s, i just watched a video with you and Josh from boogie brew and recommended natures pride organic with manster Marks system...So my question is which of the two do you think is better for what i am doing...i actually bought both company’s veg and bloom so i am going to run a side by side test just to see how they both perform. Both will be the same strains in the same tent in coco under a gavita 1700e light with co2 and climate controlled for temp and humidity. I will send or post some pics once i start in about a week
How awesome. I've been using Trifecta Plus. Which seems to work great so far. Big MIgardener fan as well as a Learn Organic Gardening fan. I bought some Dr Earth today (in a pinch) with a bit of uncertainty. Although organic & I ultimately heard good things. I was buying it from Walmart & am still learning all the details of feeding. While sifting through opinions my main thought was, I like to buy from people & companies I know. I thought to myself Walmart sold product, big company, dont know owners. Feeling uncertain but ingredients look good to my knowledge thus far. Well go figure, one of my favorite channels interviewed the guy with an hr long video giving me the info I want to know. Always enjoy hearing real people tell me their thoughts (even in video) vs. reading through opinions & sources. Good to know one of my favorite channels always has what I'm looking for & in depth. Thanks John! Ooo if you havent subscribed to this channel I highly suggest you do these three channels: Learn Organic Gardening, MIgardener, & The Gardening Channel with James Prigioni. If your learning these 3 are great organic gardeners & educators. Sorry for the long post. Thanks John. Keep it up! Now I fully understand why they call it Dr Earth. Instead of Dr. Your Garden lol.
We like cow manure because it is rich in nutrients and is the cheapest (almost free) organic source. India is one such country where cow manure (aged for a year or more) is used extensively in farming. Without cow manure I don't think there was any other cheaper and best way to make soil lively and fertile and nutrient rich. Till today aged cow manure or worm castings made out of cow manure is used. Basically cow manure is free as majority of the farmers use cattle to till and do all the farming job.
I live in america. Pennsylvania to be exact. My grandfather and I planted Gardens every year to feed us. Not a huge Garden but approximately 50 to 60 meters long by about 20 meters wide. Several months before planting we would have a local farmer who leased Farmland from my grandfather bring cow manure and spread it over the garden. Is there for the entire season and did it year after year. Everyone was always very impressed by our garden and how much we got from it. It fed my grandparents and my mother and I along with the entire family at holidays all year long.
The GYG t-shirts are sadly limited... both sizes and designs... why??? I could understand if it was just popular, but these things show a shipping date of months ago and in limited sizes to boot.
I started my seeds a bit early for my growing area. I want to put some Dr earth fertilizer on the seedlings with true leaves. They are still in their starter cups... How should I dilute the fertilizer for these babies. I plan to put them in the ground in two weeks.
I did what he said and I threw my meats everything in my compost.. I did not waste anything but I got termites in my compost. They did fantastic but they transfer into my potted plants when I used it so I abandoned it... maybe I need to just wait till they are finished and leave.. the biggest termite infested spots around my property are the best lush growing AREAS! The trees grow like WEEDS! YOU can stump them and they grow back even bigger.. I'm on a rocky soil mineral rock rich hill full of trees and plant life and the SOIL is infested with termites who break down dead trees and I learned to get those once they are done and break the powdered tree into my compost. The wild turkies love to peck at them and eat them.
Hay i have an idea .why not we mix all materials which make fertiliser..eg.seaweed,fish ,fruit wast ,green wast, molesses, all animal wast even animals in zoo too, animal urine , different types of yeasts, milk products wast, and list may be big...when problem got persentage may be selected.this all materials are not used for other purposes so use of is good for fertiliser use.. please think about it ..i dont want any feedback for me but want see filds more green....
MN maple Leaves from my neighbors, clean wood ash, rainwater, gypsum, and urine. It’s all cheap and or free. It works great. Water the soil not the plant.
