I do not understand how anybody can believe they will overtake some one when they still have to start construction of their first factory while the one they want to overtake already has several big factories.

@Darius Vlogs He is talking about how diess from Volkzwagon is claiming that elon will struggle heavily with ramping up these factories. Struggling to the point where he wont manage to ramp up by 2026 which is where volkz starts production of their own money furnace. Doesnt make much sense since tesla already has nevada and shanghai busting out some capacity and is already on top when it comes to production... but meh.

@@dariusvlogs3634 VW thinks they’re going to convert their 130+ ICE plants to EV, like how Tesla did with their formerly Toyota plant in Fresno that Tesla considers to be Frankenstein compared to its bespoke Texas & Germany plants. So VW is failing to learn from Tesla’s mistake.

Production is HARD for everyone! But Tesla is waaaaay more agile so I predict they’ll continue to pull ahead. In a few years Tesla will have to change the styling as it will get ‘old’ for many buyers. Not necessarily a new suv model, but new style.

I have a feeling they’re going to come out with a thinner nose. Similar to the old Ford Fusion. Also the headlights will probably be thinner.

For the time being, his agility is part and parcel with offering only 4 lines of cars with a LOT of standardized parts and optimized production techniques that reduce complexity. His cars range the model S, 3, X and Y which are already in proiduction rather than 6 like VW plans on hammering the market with. Compromise is also built into the production scheme as they were able to sidestep the chip shortage using legacy electronics to do the same work. I'm honestly surprised I haven't heard anything about musk building his own chip manufacturing plant yet.

You covered what I was going to say in the moments. A+. After these factories are at full ramp any new factories will have less of a burden on over all expenses. Their basically juggling 50 percent of the company right now.

The limiting growth factor is not Tesla: Its China’s ‘five year plan’ on zero Covid; shortages of all descriptions; and the Ukraine war - in that order. Since Tesla has lots of cash and no debt and is sold out till next year: high inflation, interest rates, and the recession shouldn’t effect things so much IMO.

Great video….VW using the old ICE model of producing 16 different models. One reason for this is they cannot build a machine that produces a high enough rate, GigaShanghai will reach a rate of over 1 million EV per year with just the M3 & Y! How is VW’s FSD doing? Thanks!

I think Tesla will continue to outpace the industry by large strides in technical innovation and profitability, even with gigafactory growing pains. They're reaching a critical mass of vertical integration, and absorbing lessons learned at a shocking pace. Elon's obsession with evolutionary change, even if sometime painful, will always keep them ahead of the slow-paced and overly cautious competition.

They've been making cars for almost 2 decades. N the big boys have already caught up after half a decade of striving for these cars. Tesla is like its owner a giant sham. According to Tony stark we were supposed to already have driverless taxis floating around. How's that working out

@@Crunch_dGH So what, you think VW should scrape each factory to bare ground and rebuild the walls, offices, breakrooms, etc.? Yeah, very cost effective. The legacy brands have been changing lines to new models and new technologies for many decades which is something never before done at Tesla. Tesla will sell everything they produce for some years yet but will remain a small niche manufacturer of interesting vehicles. Nothing wrong with that. It isn't like Lotus sells 3 million cars annually and they are getting by.

Musk has a track record of fixing production hitches extreemly fast. If local managers can't get it straightened out, he will take a page from Thanos' book and "do it himself". We saw that happen with the Raptor 2.... he had those delays solved in a couple weeks, I think it was, of taking the helm.

Tesla is farther ahead in the learning curve, and they have the cash (and market cap for raising more) to overcome problems that their competition has yet to discover.

Raising money isn't as good as having tens of billions of cash on hand and current production vehicle sales to pay for the future transition. Let's see when Tesla brings out their $27K entry model. I mean has one to sell, not just announcing a model for years that never is produced. If the vaportruck ever arrives that is already behind legacy pickups already hitting owner driveways.

I loved the report that spoke about Elon Musk's hubris as leading to Tesla's ultimate failure?! Personally I thought the inverse was true the Hubris to stating that VW, Ford and GM would overtake Tesla in 2025, I'm not sure how everyone somehow decided that 2025 was the year in which Tesla would collapse? These statements seem to be the antithesis of the theory of repetition as in doing the same thing repeatedly yet expecting a different result.

@@davidmccarthy6061 I think the key thing with Tesla over Volkswagen is the Tesla has the ability to move from something that is not working correctly to a new solution far more quickly than any other company in history. It’s kind of the cornerstone of their philosophy, and when you have really bright creative people with the freedom to make course adjustment on the fly, the chances of being successful are accelerated because often the people on the floor realize the strengths and weaknesses of their product far before the corporate people even get wind of it.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! - As you so correctly mentioned, in this Chip-Shortage, Supply-chain-blockage, Russian-War, and Post COVID, INFLATION and Socio-Political environments of pure HELL, TESLA will get the job-done INSPITE of all these challenges. This will only allow most of us who KNOW what Elon and the team is capable of, more time to BUY-MORE-STOCK at bargain basement prices both before and after the August 3 for 1 split.

Tesla earned 3 billion dollars in profit the first quarter of 2022. So it has paid off for both giga factories in full already. They will earn 15 billion dollars in profit next year and 75 billion dollars in profit in 2025

The problem the EV industry has is the east has a phobia about the VW scooting around and any semblance of California and it's granola mentality. I've seen one ev puddle around Pittsburgh and it was scary. When you've got mounds of metal surrounding you and you see a little toy a child should be pedaling the last thing you're thinking is I want one of those. Scale and seeing abundance on the road is going to make a difference.

Other than CATL china that I believe also sends batteries to Tesla I don't think anyone is ready to scale batteries better to supply auto manufacturers right now.

Taking into context with his peers: Volkswagen even more heavily depends on China for both supplies and customers. Toyota is still a profitable competitor but in the long run they are very ill prepared for the electric future. Ford is going to depend on the F150 ev that is going to be their savior. Mercedes will be hanging in with a shrinking global market. BMW has just about only re-badged EV's out of China to sell with no future work for their Munich staff. GM is better looking for a real leader! Goodbye Mitsubishi, Nissan, Honda with precision legacy and nobody to sell to. Stellantis has perhaps 5 to 7 years left to pull the plug.

Hyundai/Kia... thats where the real competition will come from and in my eyes much better.. To me Tesla is more of a "boutique" mfg .. where Hyundai/Kia.. now how mfg quality up and sells across the range of vehicles that most car buyers will shop in. If/when they bring in the Genesis line.. that will complete their spectrum

@@joeybulford5266 I think Toyota made up their mind they wanted to be hybrid/electric a while back and is having a hard time changing direction as the popularity of the platform has fallen .. htgrogen- electric is again pulling thing in another direction .. all of this makes them a slow cumbersome beast in the electric market..... I just don't think Hyundai has that weight slowing them down.. but honestly between the two... It's probably going to be pretty close

Honestly taking a stock perspective on this, Tesla is in a stage where the media is freaking out and the bears are gaining some temporary ground... Which means buy now because this is the lowest point Tesla will be at for a very long time. Everything is staking on this factory. The second news breaks on the best production week in the history of the company, the rest will be history...

I still think the biggest challenge for Tesla will be cost. As the other giants ramp up electric cars they will have cheaper options that will attract a lot of people whether or not they have shorter range and less options.

I think the newest battery made out of ne material graifine least copper and Nicole is cheaper stiffer because of carbon fiber that stronger than steel and lighter is better product that last longer like gasoline engines or the radiation battery that last 18 years if changing to new battery and structure different put down production then these newest item will show if gaga factories can take quick changes or design changes too these are flex abilities that should been built in beginning in first place cause one who can change quickest win production cost and labor thus cheaper fastest cars win the game of profits hand down ;^))

ELON MUSK must apply production by man power first as done in INDIA, then he can replace it easily by robot automation, in this way he can produce mass production of different vehicle and models easily,(he just try to gathering robot first before production, that is the drawback of his factory).

1. Elon has enough money to easily outlast his production issues. 2. Getting Giga Texas and Giga Berlin up and running smoothly would not have even been an problem if Giga Shanghai shut down and chip shortages had not happened. All of these issues are temporary. 3. I don't really think the CEO of Volkswagen should be out bragging about someday overtaking Tesla (which has not happened yet) when Volkswagen has been around forever and refused to start producing EV's until Tesla forced all manufacturers to stop being lazy, get off their butts and make some EV's already. Volkswagen should also actually be ashamed if they don't overtake Tesla, since they already had full lines and models of cars and only need to convert these facilities into EV and not have to build out each facility and supply lines as Tesla must do.

Just as he bemoans big losses, the corner is being turned; Texas, having struggled to crank out 4680-equipped Model Ys, has begun to put in 2170s, of which they apparently have a supply. As soon as the cars in big numbers get going out on carriers, the income will start catching up with the outgo.
