In this video, we delve into the training methods of the legendary marathon runner, Eliud Kipchoge, and explore why every runner should train the same way!
Throughout the video, we examine Kipchoge's training data, including his focus on core strength, his use of interval training, and his emphasis on rest and recovery. By adopting these techniques into your own training, you can take your running to the next level and achieve greater success on the track or in the marathon.
When you're ready, we'd love to help you become a better runner.

I love relating his easy run pace to his marathon pace. I think it’s easy for amateurs like myself to think I’m running too slow, but it’s so important to remind myself to keep easy runs easy.

A lot of sound advice that can be adapted to 'normal' runners. He is so consistent because his training is. He doesn't break himself in any one session and uses his other runs as active recovery.

Full-time athlete Kipchoge: 200k/week 15% fast = 30k/week Freetime athlete with full-time job + kids: 30k/week 15% fast = 4k/week There‘s no denying that running slow is healthier and the right option for recreational runners. But IF you are ambitious regarding your pbs and cannot spend so much time running every week, then 90/10 or 80/20 will not help you to exploit your potential. One got to tell people that „running slow to run faster“ is a wholly different story when you only have time for about 3 runs a week. Here you should get closer to 50/50 for optimal results (incl. one slowish long run) and let your 4 rest days do their work. I‘m not saying that this is the approach I would generally recommend. But the key to make e.g. 85/15 work for reaching a decent pb is MILEAGE and ample time for running slow. I think this often not stated clearly enough.

You may be busy but let’s face facts, you can find the time to run 6 days a week, stop making excuses

@@lean2281 being there for you family and your people is important as well. I can run 100k by only making time for a single dedicated run a week. Small workouts before work, plenty of time for other commitments. Always running for yourself is just hyperindividualist

Since Kipchoge is training and working with a program. That makes him normal human being. Everything he can do, anyone else can achieve it even better it. Yours is just to have similar dedication and eagerness to do more.

Do you guys have a video where you explain why you don't advocate training twice a day? You mentioned this at least twice in the video... Not that I want to do it, but some days I wish I could break my sessions into 2 because of work obligations.

So when you talk about % of the week's training at easy (80%), are you talking distance or time?

my reaction: #1 good that finally somebody looks at K training. #2 this rendition however seems more like the typical u tube pablum marathoner advocating 140 junk miles/week and finidng every excuse in the book (superhuman) to justify.. K does fast runs twice a week. I've not seen a single marathon vid advocating speed work twice a week. To say that K only does 15% of his miles as speed is just an error. When u r fartleking slow and fast the whole workout is an anaerobic speed workout. Additionally they keep making the excuse, well, K is super human that's why he can run slow as fast as many run fast. K gets i'd guess a large part of his overall conditioniing because he runs his slow works fast. there r a couple of K training blurbs on u tube 2018 about showing K doing the Tues track work but doing 20 miles or so slightly sub marathon pace (instead of fartlek) on Friday.
