Someone asked me to name Embiid’s most memorable playoff moment, and deadass, the first thing that came to my mind was the Kawhi shot 😂 like that’s where his legacy is at
if that entire game was a “moment” you won’t forget, then don’t just remember the parts you want to recall. Don’t forget the flagrant foul that took out Robinson, or the 19/21 free throws he shot, which was MORE THAN THE ENTIRE KNICKS TEAM COMBINED! Don’t forget his post game bitching about PEOPLE LIKE YOURSELF not being present enough at home games. And fyi, yes, this conversation did happen, and it’s 1000% the first thing that came to mind. And it still does, cuz what highlight did he have during that 50 piece? Name ONE highlight play he made in that game. You can’t. It’s maybe the least respectable/ least respected 50 point playoff game of all time
@@drakevick1646Robinson was out when his teammate stepped on his ankle + let’s not talk about refs in that series as for almost every game they favored NY
@@bregozy3330 Lmao no. If you ever want to figure out why it always looks like refs are against Embiid during playoffs, it's because the man fishes for fouls. You don't get nearly as many foul calls in playoffs vs regular season. The guy's easiest way to get points is gone, and he doesn't know how to adjust, so he throws temper tantrums and makes poor decisions when he thinks* it's clear (that Anunoby shoulder shove was fair contact). That missed layup over shooting the free mid-range was textbook Embiid being a jackass trying to fish. This vid straight broke it down exactly how it is. I hate both teams but still watched the games regardless because I love basketball, been watching almost every series this playoffs since round 1. The game wasn't crazy favored either way, you're just biased.
Not to forget that he begged France for a passport and wanted to play for them and after he got it he changed his mind and asked the USA the same. This guy has no back bone.
Okay that one is on France, Embiid wasn't born in France, he has never lived in France, and they wanted him to have citizenship just so he could play basketball for them at the Olympics. Straight up France's fault, I can't blame Embiid for wanting to play for a country he actually lives in.
@@JasWinnin-gi2jbhes young he can do good still. Embiid gotta lock tf in and get into shape if he wants to win something or hell get injured all the time. Philly probably beats ny if embiid is fully healthy not that they deserve it
Yeah sure Jokic is in big trouble right now but he's twice the man Embiid will ever be. He didn't whine about not winning MVP last year and he's not going to if they lose to the Timberwolves in their series.
Yeah and if anything The whole team sold horribly and it's one of the few times that I don't even blame Doc Rivers on this one. They just folded hard. You can't make up for choking that bad
To be fair, joel embiid is fouled ALOT, all he really doss is exaggerate what he feels like are fouls that should be called. Teams foul him nearly everytime he gets around the rim because he's a guaranteed bucket... it's kind of frustrating to watch. But I mean it's not like he's going out of his way to draw fouls like alot of players. Jalen brunson for example goes out of his way to draw contact jumping straight into defenders to get contact where there otherwise wouldn't be
Feel like he`s been hated before, but now after the Mitchell Robinson incident you can put him into the dirty player category. Oh and not to forget that he plays for team USA this olympics.
@@slimmcknight9504 Embiid had a hold of his right ankle so he landed awkwardly on his left when he wasn't expecting it, probably what caused the injury
He only averaged 13 free throws a game. He did shoot 21 in game 3 though which is a lot. Jalen Brunson also flopped a lot throughout the series averaging 10.5 attempts per game.
That Mitchell Robinson play is so infuriating he not only actually injured him for that game but now the Knicks may be without their backup center for the rest of the playoffs because that giant infant had a temper tantrum
His antics against Andre Drummond and the pistons from 2017-2019 made me hate the guy's guts. Got Drummond ejected on a flop and foul baited his way to free throws and taunting. 5 years later, everyone else catches on.
You're right. But I mean there is nothing he can do about that though. I feel so bad seeing so much talent plagued by injury and can't stand to see people throwing dirt on his name over it. Like the dude has heart, every year he is hurt in the post season and every year he shows up and does his best despite injuries. I got alot of respect for thay
The French have serious hate for him after being given citizenship (or residency) with the expectation that he’ll play for 🇫🇷 then decides to play for 🇺🇸 that’s a nations worth of hate 😂
Let's be honest here. Racial motivation was part of the reason Embiid won last year's MVP. The boys over at ESPN basically lobby for the "boys" every time. They are still doing it this year with SGA. Joker overall is the best player in the league. He should have won MVP last year too. However, Embiid was on track to be the MVP this year. He might have deserved it and won it this year.
Jokic get torched every time he plays against him. The Western Conference doesn't have paint presence until now with the Timberwolves and guess what? Your hero is down 2-1
@@feroce82 he’s not my hero. I don’t even like jokic lol. That’s alot of assuming. They are still the defending champs. Just cause they are down doesn’t mean anything. They showed last night why they are the champs. You don’t just give up. If that was embiid they would be down 0-3. Dude chokes in the playoffs.
@@feroce82 Lmao the only argument you have against Jokic is him being down in the playoffs ? When the playoffs don't even count for MVP... Hate on Jokic more please.
It’s about time the media is focused on embiid as the root of the problems for Philly. Even when Ben Simmons passed up that open dunk that season, the following full season with harden was not even better. I’ve reached the point where even if embiid was playing 100% healthy he would still underperform. As bad as Ben Simmons was as a scorer, he hid a lot of the problems that Philly had.
@@JacobMiller-ke6yf ger.m.a.ngiant1644 spent the other night twerking for 9 hours straight to LeFlop's compilation videos so yeah he's been tripping for awhile
Embiid is a playoff choker trust me im from Philly and still live here and I can’t stand him or the current team I miss the old AI days the logo the uniforms and the spectrum those were the good days and I feel like Embiid is just ruining the team
Then you would know that Embiid is the only reason the 76ers can even go to the playoffs. You did pay attention to how bad the team was from February to April, right?
We’ve seen more of Embiid flopping, shooting Free Throws, complaining to refs, not being an actual leader, disappearing in the playoffs, and losing than him actually carrying his team to their final goal
I just can't hate the man for making a smart career move that management wasn't smart enough to counter. He absolutely is overpaid, but I can't expect the man to say no to free money if the Sixers are going to be stupid about it.
Blame the Sixers for giving a max to a role player. Anybody in their right mind is gonna take the bag especially when there’s only one team offering it. How do you think Horford ended up on the Sixers? They were the only team that gave him $100 million at age 34
As a sixers fan and Embiid fan, it's has been very frustrating to see such a great player absolutely disappear in the playoffs every year consistently, it gets harder and harder to defend him or like him after seeing that dirty play
He didn't disappear this year. The previous seasons he could've sit because of injuries, instead he played every time and he got the blame for the Sixers early exits
@@feroce82 90% of the time he gets injured or underperforms, he is definitely not the sole reason for the many second round exits (sixers have always had a myriad of issues) but LeBron made it to the finals with a terrible Cavs team, if Embiid was as good as he is in the regular season he would have at least made it to the conference finals by now
yeah im not a fan of any of the teams mentioned, but i loved seeing brooks acting up and then getting cooked last year, and draymond this year, that i used to spike my gsw friend with this lol, but embiid? just his b face makes my blood boil
Yeah at least Brooks and Draymond make the game more entertaining. Embiid just plays dirty and tries to always draw fouls which makes the game 10x worse.
It's not funny with Draymond anymore. He is a straight up psycho, he can't even resist the temptation of doing dirty plays. With Brooks it's alright because it more about trashtalking than being dirty but a player doing dirty plays and potentially injuring others is not funny.
No it's not "official" there's not a single player or athlete ever, more hated than Lebron. Lebron is the only guy who has equal amounts of haters as he does fans
I honestly believe a certain percentage of those who hates him is more than his own fans say like 55% to 45%. I believe pure basketball heads who are TRUE to the game isn't a fan of his besides the casuals that only pays attention to stats and whoever is the most famous in the league. Many less developing countries are affected by this notion.
I thought it was funny when Booker got humiliated by Luka after running his mouth ... but I don't mind Devin that much. I've never seem him try to hurt another player like Embiid does.
imma be honest with you im a booker hater, nothing to do with his game tho its more to do with the way he carries himself, idk it makes me feel like he's the literal definition of "everyone talks shit when they're up" idk if that luka quote was against you guys or not but i just can't describe how he makes me feel in any other way. An example of this was this years playoffs, he lost in 4 to the wolves and i didnt hear anything from him, there was no shit talking, no leadership taken, no nothing but when he's winning its like he's the complete opposite. i honestly kinda feel bad for suns fans because i think he was a big reason why ayton left and he woulda been a great addition to the current roster you guys have. tbh tho his game is great and if he manages to win a chip he'll gain my respect.
Ye, but that was when they were with Kevin Durant, it should not count, they were not MVPs that year. When Westbrook won MVP in 2017, his team was eliminated in 1st round. Harden did much better in 2018, his rockets lost 4-3 in WCF to Warriors with KD and Curry. Barkley and Malone were MVPs and got to the finals and were defeated by MJ's Bulls.
@@raimundasmare you braindead? Harden helped the OKC in clutch times to take them to the finals when they beat the spurs in WCF, it should defo count, that OKC trio is the biggest what if in nba history, stop discrediting it
Worst part is, half of it is bs. He was on one leg, one half of his face, a migraine, the Knicks got BS calls in game 2 and game 4. And on top of that he was booed at home. He accidentally stepped on Hart's foot. The Mitchell Robinson thing was inexcusable, but that didn't injure him. He played for the next 6 minutes and then hurt himself on a defensive play. On the free throws, he got hit hard by this Knicks team. Some of it, sure, was foul baiting. But all of your favorite players do it. SGA, Luka, Giannis. Even Jokic has done it on occasions. Don't blame this series on Embiid.
The difference between Embiid and Draymond is that what Embiid does is far more dangerous. Draymond just does little crap like sucker punch or nut punch, so it’s like, “Ight, you a bitch for that.” But not any long term damage done. This dude Embiid is straight up taking out guys for the rest of the post season. Mitchell Robinson is now a victim of that, too. And let’s not forget how he was 2 shoe sizes away from curb stomping Grant Williams last post season. Plus, Draymond isn’t 7’1”, 310 lbs. So even if we wanna say Draymond and him are on the same level, or that Draymond is worse (he’s not, but he is was more annoying and persistent with it lmao.) Embiid is just straight up way too big to be doing it
You sound like a biased clown trying to defend Draymond. He choked a dude out which can cause just as much long-term damage (if not more) than anything Embiid has done. Both are dirty players and deserve a bad rep.
Joel has been hated for years before and now has been 100% the number one hated player after the Knicks series. He was hated before with the Raptors series. He is a dirty player and a imposter to a real MVP!
i really hope the sixers brass brings in tougher minded and tougher built wing players this offseason. embiid has a history of folding and having guys around him that are okay with him folding. but bring in guys who dont fold and itll rub off on embiid and improve his toughness. they need size, rebounders, hustle guys and capable offensive contirbutors. maybe even bring dwight back to back up embiid, theyll definitely keep up with teams on the boards in non embiid minutes. also, for embiid i really hope nurse has a conversation and tells him to look for easier shots and stop relying on the whistle. cuz u cant go from regular season whistle to postseason whistle that isnt a flip that can be switched
Allen has improved his reputation this season and also he would actually get ejected for his dirty plays while Joel somehow does get enough flagrant 2’s from the refs.
I think the problem with that comparison is that Jordan could be trusted to step his game up. He pretty much always put up at least a very good if not great performance. Embiid can't be trusted to step up when it counts the most!@@Afineaddition
Only difference between LeBron and Embiid is that LeBron at least partially makes up for his flopping and crying by showing up in the playoffs. Embiid will do the same amount of whining but drop a triple single in game 7
It's their job to create content by putting out opinions. As takes go, this isn't even close to the most far out one. It's rooted in reality and you can agree or disagree. But in the end, you're feeding it by watching and commenting.
The NBA is so soft these days, calling Embiid a dirty player cracks me up. I remember the bad boy Knicks and Detroit of the late 80's early 90's, now those were dirty teams. Hell Shaq elbowed Mutombo in the finals. Mutombo had a bleeding lip and still didn't get a call.
Well, Bad Boy Pistons is also the reason why this NBA became soft, because the NBA needed to set a rule in order to prevent having another Bad Boy Pistons in the future.
He’s an actual dirty player. It’s more than trash talk or pushing, he had to flagrant fouls on Jarret Allen and 3 this playoff series and elbowed Giannis in the chest and many more dirty calls!!!
Embiid is an incredible player, and the flopping and clever cheaty fouls are annoying, just like a lot of other stars past and present. But his actions in that last series were a new low for him. I don't remember him doing this before.
idk i mean i think the first players players i remember not liking because of foul baiting were kd with his rip through, harden and trae young with his stopping and jumping into defenders. However embiid is different from them, all 3 of those players hunted for those fouls, they played smartly to abuse the nba rules (kd,trae ), or they utlized their position on the court and defensive stances to get theirs (harden with holding defenders arms when they reached, trae by blowing by and stopping) embiid just runs and flops hoping he gets a call that is not hunting for fouls like the others he just foul baits dropping to the floor almost every possesion just to try and sell a contact that was never there.
Forgot to mention that before the injury in January he was already almost at the limit for games missed in a season before not getting awards. That’s crazy
He's so good that he doesn't need all the antics. That's what's so frustrating. Just play basketball, stop trying to hurt people, & take the fouls that actually happen.
It's official. The brain dead, mouth breathing internet trolls who only repeat what they hear and overreact to out of context video clips have decreed it.
@@mekacrab I know this is the internet but I thought that my sarcasm was going to come through pretty clearly in my last comment. No shit they didn't make an official survey. That's why I am making fun of it. This whole video is just tired, lazy narratives that are being said like they are truth.
Nobody hates Embiid as man. But we are many who hate Embiid's game. The constant crying, the referee support, the constant flopping and the starcall what he gets.
Right. Embiid isn't allowed to complain about missed calls that the league they admitted that they missed but he's supposed to say that his own teammate traveled on a pivotal play? Does ANYONE do that? "Yea, we should've lost today. My guy walked before the tying shot." No one would say that. Also the whining about free throws as if that's not part of the game. Take away Embiid's free throws and he still scored more than Brunson did in game 7 against the Pacers period.
Embid should never have become MWP because he absolutely does not deserve it! He doesn't know how to behave on the field, he's not a leader and he doesn't enjoy the respect of the crowd or the players! Embid holds the MWP title that actually belongs to Jokic! This is a fact that represents a great shame for the NBA!
How can you hate a player that is no threat to your favorite team’s championship? He’ll never qualify for regular season accomplishments any longer and in the rare chance he does he’ll just break down or choke in the playoffs.
