@@NeutroniummAlchemist i know what it is.. as long as u spar there and train correctly..u have judo throws n boxing in there.. kinda better than karate
Everything works and depends if u train regularly .a person who trains wing Chun and jogs and does 500 squats pushup n crunches and stretches lifts weights etc will kick a non trained out of shape person.. even if it's wing Chun for example. And there is nothing wrong with that style by the way
The Bioneer has to be one of the best fitness channels on RU-vid. He really inspires me and my own ethos of how strength should come to functionality, life skills, and injury prevention before aesthetics or max power when considering the average person's goals. Good looks are simply a bonus of being fit! Also, not to mention his intelligence, delivery, and obvious scientific knowledge of his subjects. He combines all corners of fitness into something much more effective and sustainable for living a generally healthy lifestyle. Despite this, athletes and specialists can still take something from this!
Probably the best video I've seen in your channel so far, and with great information density. Not only on burpees themselves, but on compound exercises as well. A burpess-only routine by Jeff Cavaliere was my starting point in a path towards functional training a couple years back, and it's still a fallback routine when in a pinch. I'll try to incorporate some of the variants presented here too.
I do something called a push-jump-pull which is a burpee under a pull-up bar, then catching the bar on the jump and pull up. Which makes it more full body by adding the vertical pull to active the Lats. Its also more applicable to military training as I get off the ground and jump to pull over a wall quickly and explosively. It’s my favorite cardio finisher on my Full Body Friday
Fully body Friday🥳 Damn I'm in full English breakfast mode ATM.. since two weeks ago I started training again. I need to get the Burpees in. Me n my buddy used to train religious and do Burpees with the jump, in pyramids one after the other. Starting from say 25 all the way down to one and back up again😂now I'm wheezing doing a few push ups.. ill get there

My go-to is the 1 pump, 2 pump and navy seal. I go for high reps (usually up to 500 reps) but I don’t actually include the jump. I aim for speed and efficiency in the movement. I find that adding runs in between sets really increases the difficulty and improves endurance. An example would be doing 3 rounds including 12 minutes of 1 pump burpees followed by a 1 mile run
One arm burpees that you flow through quickly shows incredible fitness. I’m happy to do some burpees with two arms. And after my back surgery, I do them gingerly. I have to put my hands down as opposed to diving to the ground.
Bad Ass. I created Aoe Tora Super Burpees a mix of burpees to add more resistance through a 13 move combo. Thanks for the making a scientific and accurate, simultaneously varied video of burpees. Cheers
Bro I’ve been doing burpees for as long as I can remember and the amount of cardio I did is enough to keep up with my friends who go hiking basically every day or weekend for hours without being tired
100% believe that- it’s such an underrated exercise. I think it’s not popular because it’s not glamorous and because, when done correctly, it’s very difficult.
Please, this is my Friday routine. I do most of these for one hour every Friday. I love burpees. Possibly the best exercise ever. It works everything and burns so much. The kick through is a new one for the workout now. I loved that one
Solid information. Anyone who looks down on Burpees for acquiring a good level of functional strength and endurance has never really given the exercise serious consideration. I use them in an interval cycle and they bring the smoke.
What a great vid - thanks mate. I just started taking my 14 y/o daughter to the gym with me and burpees have been the foundation for her. I'll slot in some of these variations to mix it up. Thanks man.
In my small opinion Burpees is the King exercise for anybody involved in fighting the benefits are infinite makes you move well and fast, explosiveness, balance can't beat them.
I've liked the burpee since I first learned, but I've started doing them regularly just a few weeks backs, when I found a German follower of Iron Wolf with his own channel. Did 100 burpees today for the first time (obviously with some catching my breath in between reps and about half of them with the jump). Feels really good and I can see the effect. 👍 I don't know why people hate them, they are so effective at making you suffer. 😅 And I have some training when the weather is and short days won't let me get out on my bike as much as I would like.
Thanks for advice, but hindu grapplers have been using the fully extended version for hundreds if not thousands of years. From a mechanical point of view you go from full extension to full flexion, nothing crucial for healthy bodies. If somebody's crooked they should look into McGill method for learning to stabilize their spine first.
Hey Thank You for reminding of how important and beneficial the Burpee is! Also how difficult I haven't done a Burpee in 40 years or more so looking forward to getting started again Thanks!!!
Outstanding video sir. Really inspiring me for workout tomorrow morning! My favorite were the kick through burpees, the animal flow movement integrated into the burpee concept
love burbe's, or how we call it "pushup, jump" we were taught to throw arms above the head during the jumping part, its kinda wierd to see arms limp down the body during the jump.....but still, its all a burpie.... defenetly im gona be doing the variation you shown (with the kicktrough)
Burpees ain't no mans land. Mixed MA Fighters do it regularly as it is basically the foundation of being explosive over a longer period of time. Edit: Subscribed. Fantastic video.
Doing a burpee challenge for a Charity fund raiser for the 2nd year. 150 per day. These are kickin my butt but giving me the best results I've seen of all my workouts.
I cannot believe that I'm doing burpees. Going into the pandemic I couldn't do a single push up, today I managed 100 burpees in one session. I'm nearly 60 so that's a real achievement for me.
Wearing old body armour instead of a weighted vest works too, helmet for sit-ups as well. Backpack filled with bottles of water is an easy way to add weight for a home back workout.
I don't really like burpees, but that probably means I should be doing them...I have your book - Superfunctional Training. I emailed you some questions but I haven't heard back. I really like the book, so if you say burpees are good, I should probably be doing them...
I do 50 a day in sets of 10 currently with a 45s rest in-between. I include a push up and pull up at the top of the jump with a slight knee raise. Working to lower rest down and once it's a 2-1 work-rest ratio adding in a weight vest. Will try experimenting more, perhaps starting with a muscle up from the pull up.
Hey Bio! Would love for you to do a video on the benefits of trampoline workouts. Best investment I ever made cardio wise, and I have a full gym at my house. And it’s so damn fun. I’m talking actual backyard trampolines, not the little baby ones.
Mr. Sinicki, I have questions. Do you experience soreness throughout the week of your training? Or do you just train for the sake of consistency? Curious to know about the Bioneer's training intensity and also looking for inspiration.
On the way down, instead of throwing yourself into the press up, squat down as if you are doing a body weight squat and then push your legs out into the press up position and carry on the burpee. I feel the way you do it misses out on the downward part of the squat making it a bit easier per rep.
Great to see this powerful move in action. For those of us who are keyboard warriors and have lost a lot of flexibility and who want to take advantage of the burpee movement, are there modified versions of the burpee that can be done? A video on this would be great to see.
I ❤️ BURPEES!! Can’t do that many yet, but they work VERY quickly to produce results, and I’m not even built for athleticism. They’re perfect for functional fitness, as they don’t require much skill, w/ respect to coordination, reflexes, etc., so there aren’t many barriers to entry for able-bodied people. Just gotta develop a little foundational strength first. “Anyone” can do them for free, and they don’t require much space. These are ideal for those who either don’t have much time for exercise, or would rather not spend much time going out of their way to exercise (*raises hand*).
It's kind of a 'ballistic get-up' in a way. I'd try setting a 10 minutes timer and do as many quality reps as possible, relaxing totally on the deck at the bottom of the push-up, getting up in a jumping squat in an explosive manner but controlling the descent (though not to the point of slowing too much). Maybe in an EMOM fashion or alternating sets with 10-15 kettlebell swings.
