The impact of Forsen on twitch culture CANNOT be overstated, Forsen and the forsenboys are the creators of soooo many memes

Forsen was the reason I got into Hearthstone and more recently started streaming. He and his community's contribution to Twitch culture and the HS scene cannot be overstated - OMEGALUL, gachi music, so many of the memes you see in Thijs chat etc all started here. This video makes me so nostalgic for the forsen/reckful/massan/amaz days. One day a new clone will return to the game - Copesen.

I started with Kripp early 2015.. when I had bought a tablet and installed HS. move down to watching forsen daily everyday, watched all the forsen boys memes brew, mindless gachi remix dark room streams of him playing non stop while I play hs, watch him in tournaments then there I found Reckful in that Amaz house host HS tournament at the end of 2015 and noticed how reckfuls following was very similar to forsen and since then Reck became my favorite person ever and took a huge influence my life, living 4 years of my life thru them in my room no school no job no friends. Was huge seeing them IRL in Spain

I played Hearthstone around low legend during GvG, I'd argue Unstable Portal and Piloted Shredder were the main things that messed with the rng mechanics of that set. Dr Boom, whilst insanely strong and popular, was not an autoinsert of every major deck like shredder was; with unstable portal sometimes winning the game on turn 2

The funny thing about this is that he was completely right about the RNG, but the playerbase just ended up accepting it more and more, to the point people defend it nowadays and some even ask for more, "because it's fun". It's kinda sad, not gonna lie.

I played HS from closed beta onward but stopped entirely about a year ago. Just tried playing again and had basically zero fun tbh. Maybe I just got tired of it, but I think absurd powercreep and card generation is at least part of the problem. I think Runeterra is a much much better game in terms of its core design, kind of a shame that it isn’t more popular. Though LoR has fallen into the same design trap recently as well so idk

6:35 Gotta say I think you're wrong about Doctor Boom, yes it was a heavily RNG card, and while listing off things like implosion and crackle are very noteworthy RNG heavy cards, and dr Boom was busted, I think a bigger card was the 4/3 Mech that deathrattled out a purely random 2 drop that could easily determine the game at a much earlier point, having two copies, and also be slotted into any deck as a neutral like dr Boom. I could be wrong but it's at least a VERY important card that could've been mentioned, I remember seeing clips of Reynad raging at this and that was the first thing that came to my mind since the aggro early game getting that high roll swings things a lot sooner.

8:49 actually his stream was in the shitter early 2017. He came from playing OW which already pulled a lot less viewers than HS to then switching to full-time variety. His average viewers were like 2k-3k for months. That's when I started watching during his Witcher 3 playthrough (I didn't like the constant plugdj cancermusic so never was a big viewer in the HS days). Then he started playing PUBG, still only got a few k viewers, until then finally the mic spamming streamsniping started and the IRL Spain streams with Reckful got him back to 20k+ viewers.

Remember Forsen from when I first started Hearthstone - Interesting comparison is my son in his teenage years played Frozen Throne PvP online and was one of the Top 50 players on the EU server - He could never get into Hearthstone because of too much RNG - Great video again young man with excellent insights!
